Scene 2
Scene 2 ---------- The Village
* When the group reaches the large hut Hiei pauses and puts River down as he waits. In a moment the three brothers come out of the trees to one side. Habataro greets Hiei as Kumataro moves to Dagon.
Habataro- We felt all of you coming. So it’s finally time then?
Hiei- Hn. I was unavoidably.. detained.
* They all glance toward Dagon who is now being snuffled all over by Kumataro. Until they notice everyone’s attentions. Hiei rolls his eyes and looks back up at Habataro.
Hiei- Will your village be okay until you all return?
Habataro- Hai. Our boys have all their orders.
Hiei- Okay. I’ll go get these other four then we’ll be on our way.
* Hiei then enters the large hut. He moves to the couch where Chevaux is sleeping. Knowing of his Horse demoness’ skiddish nature, as of late, he wakes her as gently as he can.
Hiei- Time to wake up, Mare.
* Loreen and Tachimaru come out of the kitchen.
Tachimaru- Is there a problem, Master?
Hiei- No problem. It’s just time to move to the fortress. Gather whatever you’re taking. I’ll be waiting outside with the rest of my pack.
* Chevaux yawns and stretches her large frame as she wakes up. Hiei rubs one of her ears then goes back outside. He moves over to Sarista.
Hiei- I don’t want any trouble between any of you and these females. We have to travel together.
Sarista- As long as they behave themselves I won’t start anything.
* Celestia looks over at him.
Celestia- But we will defend ourselves or our babies if we have to.
* Hiei turns and raises a hand to rub his forehead with a quiet curse. Lily comes over to look down at him.
Lily- You’ve trained us to be able to handle ourselves, Darling.
* She ruffles his spikes with her bushy, black tail until he growls and snatches it gently.
Hiei- This tail of yours is possessed, Vixen.
* Lily pouts playfully.
Lily- I thought you loved my tail.
* Hiei nuzzles it with a slight growl.
Hiei- I do.. But I’ve got other things to deal with right now, Fox.
* Hiei moves away to continue talking with Habataro and Coutaro as they all wait for the four females to come out of the hut. When the clan goes quiet he turns to watch them come out of the hut. Hiei starts to go over, but Hab places a hand on his shoulder.
Habataro(Quietly)- Just relax and let them work it out, Boss.
* Not surprisingly, it is Tachimaru that moves forward to make the first confrontation.
Tachimaru- Who is the Alpha Female here?
* Sarista moves forward without hesitation.
Sarista- Currently, that would be me. My name is Sarista.
* The two females study each other then Tachimaru shifts her gaze toward Sarista’s boys that are sitting on the ground nearby. The Tigress looks over all the other offspring, noting how they all mostly resemble Hiei. Tachi backs off some.
Tachimaru- Are you why Sylk left?
* Before Sarista can answer Eboni moves to Tachimaru.
Eboni- No, Tachi. Mother left of her own accord.. Nobody forced her to go.
* Eboni motions toward the basket that Lily is carrying.
Eboni- She even abandoned her own newborns. You know she hasn’t been right since Matsua captured us.
* Tachimaru slowly nods and looks back at Sarista.
Tachimaru- We understand that we’re the lesser of Master Hiei’s mates.. We have yet to carry his offspring as you all obviously have.
Sarista- As long as you mind your places there’ll be no trouble.
* Tachimaru bows slightly, then moves cautiously closer to Lily.
Tachimaru- May we please see our.. former Mistress’ babies?
* Lily looks at Sarista who nods. The other three females move closer to peer into the basket when Lily sets it down and removes the small fur pelt covering it. Habataro releases Hiei and he comes over to join them.
Hiei- I did everything I could.. short of stripping that feline’s will from her.. to try to get her to stay.. My Alpha Female even stepped down willingly to allow Sylk to keep her status as long as she was here.
* Tachimaru looks at Hiei with a deep sigh.
Tachimaru- We all knew it wasn’t going to be easy for Sylk.
Loreen- But for her to leave her own babies..
Eboni- She never truly.. claimed them because of the.. circumstances.
Hiei- This is my mate, Lily. She miscarried her whole litter so I’ve appointed her the right to care for these kits.
Tachimaru- I guess it makes sense since she’s a Kitsune like their Sire obviously was.. They’re so cute!
Chevaux- Just adorable.
* Lily quickly snatches the little male up when he tries to crawl out of the basket.
Garnetia- What’s their names?
Lily- This ambitious little guy is Kurasyl.. His quieter sister hasn’t given us her name yet.
* The four females all exchange glances.
Hiei- Alright. If we’re all settled, let’s get moving. I want to make good time before it gets dark.
* Hiei looks down at River when she comes over beside him.
Hiei- You stay back here with your Aunts now, River.
River- Yes, sir, Daddy.
Chevaux- Oh my, isn’t she just a doll? She is definately your little girl.
* Hiei half glances up at Chevaux when she whinnies then shakes his head and moves away.
Hiei- Cats, Dagon, Minoro, you all take positions on the outsides. Keep all the others in the center. I’ll be in the lead. Let’s go.
* As Hiei starts off the named subordinates all take up their positions around the females, Troi, Silis, and all the children. Dagon and Kumataro, who have been busy discussing Dagon’s recent experiences, suddenly realize that the group has moved off. They hurry to fall into place, bringing up the rear.
