Chapter 2: Unexpected turth

Chapter 2: Unexpected turth

… But what if mom didn’t come back looking for Shuichi that night? What would I have done if …

“Name! Name!”

“Huh?” You stopped walking, realizing you had just walked right passed Shuichi and his friend Yusuke without even seeing them. “Oh, sorry guys I didn’t see you.” You said, plastering a smile on your face.

“Hah, yea you looked like you were off in la-la land.” The slick backed haired Yusuke said as he grinned impishly. “So who was your mind?”

“What makes you think it is a who?” You asked, as you looked up but avoided his eyes. Like with Yoko. You thought as you felt a tingling sense of fear and excitement for the very different reason of why you avoided the eyes of the demon.

“Hey she is blushing! Ok who is it Name? I want a name so I can go and have a little ‘talk’ with this guy.”

You did smile slightly the tone Yusuke spoke in as he grinned. “Don’t worry about it Yusuke, it is no one.” No human anyway.

“Come on tell me. Hey, buddy come on, help me out here.” Yusuke asked his friend.

“I’m sorry Yusuke but I don’t think I can. Besides Name and I have an … pervious engagement to attend to.”

“Huh?”

“Huh?”

Both you turned as Shuichi suddenly spoke and you looked bewildered at the red-head. You guys didn’t have anything to do today.

Shuichi gave you a glance out of the corner of his eyes. “Remember Name? The discussion on El loco ninas?”

It took you a second to recognize what he was saying through it only stumped you more. El loco ninas was a bit of a code between the two of you, an excuse to help him get away from the fan girls that seemed to have followed him from high school. Lucky most of them didn’t understand Spanish.

“Uh. Yea … ok.” You said as Yusuke looked between the two of you and started cracking up.

“Ah, my little Ku … Shuichi is all grown up!”

You narrowed your eyes slightly as you glanced between the two. There it was again. That wasn’t the first time Yusuke or one of the others had nearly called Shuichi something else, when you first asked he said it was nothing and so you let it drop, it was categorized as ‘something-he-isn’t-going-to-tell-me-until-he-is-ready’ but that didn’t mean you weren’t curious. You just didn’t ask. For now.

Shuichi rolled his eyes as he turned, seeming to be ignoring his friend’s antics as you fought down a laugh. Believe it or not Shuichi really wasn’t polite as he made himself out to be, he just made sure few people seen or heard that side of him.

But upon hearing your friend clear his throat, one of his ways of telling you to hurry up you said yours goodbye to Yusuke, walking off in the direction of the park. “So what is it you wanted to talk about Red?”

Shuichi kept stride with you as he looked at you for a moment. “Name,” He said before slipping his hands into his pocket as he looked away for a moment, if you didn‘t know better you swear he was fidgeting. “It's not much, really, just that...well... You aren't looking very well. Have you been getting enough sleep as of late?” He turned back to face you with a concerned expression.

Now it was your turn to look away. "What makes you ask?" You asked, your voice raising some as you winced, damn, the fox was right, you squeaked when you were nervous.

You didn’t see it but the red haired smiled softly. “Just a little concerned for my friend is all. What's bothering you?”

Nothing.” You said as the two of you ducked under the shelter of the trees, walking in the grass along the path. “It's nothing, really.”

But Shuichi was not fooled. “Are you sure, Name?” He asked, a hand on your shoulder stopping you. “You know you can tell me anything, right?”

You bit your lower lip gently as you sighed. Darn me and my guilt trips, and darn Shuichi and his questions. You thought before speaking. "It’s ... I think I got a visit from a demon." You said quietly as you glanced at him out of the corner of your eye.

Shuichi blinked, seeming not to have expected that answer. “Oh really?” He had a note of interest in his voice. “What happened?”

You shifted uncomfortably. Think quick girl! You thought to yourself as you walked a few steps and leaned against a tree, turning your face to the breeze to avoid looking at him. If you did he would know you were lying for sure, then you really be in for it. "Can't remember really, actually it is a recurring dream I have been having for the past few days." You lied through your teeth.

Shuichi raised an eyebrow even as he felt his stomach hit the ground. “What can you remember?”

You shifted a little more before you faced him with a small smile plaster on your face. "It's nothing Red, really. Just a stupid dream." You rubbed the back of your head with a sheepish grin. "After all who believe in demons these days huh?" You asked, thanking God you didn't stutter.

Shuichi chuckled though it sounded slightly strained, but that could be a trick of the wind, right? “I suppose so, but I have to know what this mysterious demon looks like, don't I?” He said with a half smile to show he's just barely joking, you're not getting off the hook that easy.

You thought about lying, making up something right off the top of your over imaginative head but he was your best friend and you really didn‘t like lying to people. Beside it isn't like he would know right? "Sliver hair and golden eyes. Looked like a kitsune." You said then shrugged. "Like I said, weird dream huh?"

Shuichi smiled, though it - once again - seems rather strange and his eye looks as though it twitched for a moment. “Yes, that is rather strange. Did your mysterious demon happen to have a name?”

“What you so curious about Red?” You asked, raising an eyebrow at him. “You plan on finding him or something?”

Shuichi shook his head with a laugh. “Why would I do something like that? He's only a dream after all.” He looked at you with a raised eyebrow, still looking amused.

"Yea, only a dream." You muttered as you looked away. What if ... I know I wasn't dreaming ... but he didn't come back ... You shook you head hard at yourself. "Baka onna." You muttered to yourself as you pushed away from the tree.

Shuichi smiled at you as he came to stand beside you. “Do you think you'll be alright with this "dream demon" or do I have to come and protect you from him?”

“But my dear Red, what will your fan-girls think?” You asked, putting up a smile for his sake as you teased him softly.

Shuichi shrugged lightly, trying to look helpless. “I don't know, I can't help but wonder myself. Maybe they'll finally get a clue and leave me alone?”

You shook your head at his hopeful tone. “You really need a girlfriend Red, then they might leave you alone. Or at least stalk you at a distance.” You said, plastering up the smile even as the suggestion sent your heart clenching at the thought of another girl in his arms. Friends or not, you still liked him.

Kurama smiled as well. “True, I suppose. But I'd hate to leave my hypothetical girlfriend at the mercy of the fan-girls.”

“Then get one that can take care of herself. Or one that doesn't mind getting blood on her hands.” You shrugged using the excuse of stretching a little to break the conversation before you faced him again.

Shuichi nodded, looking very thoughtful on that point. “Yes, that would probably be best, I suppose. Perhaps you should go home and get some sleep? You're looking a little more tired now than when we started talking.” He said motioning to the dark circle under your eyes, the result of late night watches for a certain fox.

But you shook your head. “No, I got to finish up some shopping first, I might swing back by when I am done. Mom wants you to come to dinner, as a thank-you for helping us move the other day.”

“It was the least I could do, you are my friend, after all. And I suppose I could stop by for dinner... If only to demon-proof your room for you?” Your emerald eyed companion chuckled as he teased you lightly.

You were quite proud of the fact you managed to keep your slight smile under. “I will try but I can't promise anything. I'll see you later ok Red?” You asked as you bowed then hurriedly departed. You still had things to do before heading home and you wanted away from his questions.

Shuichi smiled as he watched you go until you were out of sight before he sighed and leaned back against the tree.

“Hn, you are in deep Fox.” A voice from the tree you had been leaning against said.

Kurama shook his head knowing who it was without turning to face the fire demon. “Hello, Hiei.”

“What are you doing to do about her Kurama? She may not know 'who' Yoko is but she definitely knows what he is.” Asked his red eyed friend and comrade.

Kurama sighed as he looked out across the park. “I'm not sure what to do, Hiei. The only thing I can think of is telling her the truth, and that...well... I doubt that would be the safest course of action at the moment.”

“Hn, and what of Yoko?” Hiei turned to look down at his friend. “You know very well she waits for him.”

“All I can do with that is keep him well away from her and then hope that she either forgets or gives up on him.”

“Hn baka kitsune. Best stay away from her all and all.” Hiei retorted.

Kurama glanced up at the koormine. “How do you suggest I do that, Hiei?”

“Figure it out Fox. Break her heart if you have too, if you want to keep up the lies of your humanity you will have to. Otherwise she will find out one way or another.” Hiei glanced down at him, reprimand clear. Despite his friendship with Kurama and the others he still had no use for the lies Kurama told to keep up the illusion of being a human. And the cost of those lies.

Kurama sighed again as he broke his glaze with his comrade. “I have to at least go to dinner tonight; it would too odd for me to refuse after agreeing. Besides, I'd like to at least see how her mother is doing after the attack.”

“She remembers nothing?” Hiei asked though knowing Kurama would not have allowed the woman to remember the attack.

“It seems that way, but I'd like to be sure. She returned home when she realized I was not there with her though I was sure I implanted the memory of my going to taking the bus home.”

“Hn, very well Fox. Just watch yourself.” Hiei warned, looking up when he heard footsteps coming close. “Take my advice Kurama, leave her be.”

Shuichi frowned only momentarily before nodding. “Very well, Hiei. I will take your advice into consideration.” He said neutrally as he watched his own mother just come into sight, having finished with her own errands. But why is it I don’t want to have to tell her goodbye? He wondered to himself.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Much later that evening …
" ... with winds of 20mph, residences are advised to stay indoors ..." The new broadcast rang through the living room as your mother looked at your guest. "Well Shuichi, I think you better call your folks to tell them you are staying. We can't make it back to town in this kind of weather ..." She said as she glanced out the window at the howling winds.
Kurama nodded as he sighed and sighed inaudibly. “I suppose you're right…” He said before going into the other room to call his mother and returns a few minutes later. “My mother said it's alright, as long as I come home first thing in the morning.” I should've listened to Hiei, I suppose...but it's too late now… He thought.
"We will get you home as soon as we can Shuichi. You can sleep in the guest room, Name can ... Name?"
You looked up at your mother's voice from where you had been staring out the window. "Huh? Oh sorry, I was thinking. What is it mother?" You asked politely.
"Can you show him to the guest room? I know it is only a room over from yours but I think I can trust you two together huh?" Your mother winked at you as you looked away and shrugged.
"Yea. Sure. Come on Red." You said leading the way down the hall.
Kurama looked at you steadily, you had been acting very subdued since the sun had set and he had a few ideas why. “Are you alright?”
"I'm fine." You replied as you stopped outside one door. "Here you can sleep for the night. I'm one room over if you need anything Red." You said ducking your head to avoid looking up at him as you stepped out of the way.
Kurama looked at you a moment longer but he knew he would get no further answers from you. “Thank you...and … good night.” he said before slipping into the room, closing the door behind him but his thoughts were focused on something else. #Yoko...if you try anything…#
“Good night.“ You said as you quickly walked down the hall and shut the door behind you. You had an appointment with the pillow. * At least then no one would hear me crying if I start.* You thought as you quickly undressed, switching into a flannel shirt and sweatpants and climbed into bed. “Just try to sleep mouse.” You muttered to yourself as you turned to face the wall, trying to do that as you listened to the house settling.
And in the next room …
#She's nearby, isn't she, Shuichi?# Yoko’s voice rang in the head of the younger.
Kurama frowned deeply as he laid on the bed and tried to relax. #Yoko…# He warned as the mental image of his former self swarmed in his head.
Yoko tried to look innocent but that was not his strong point. # It was only a question…#
Kurama sighed. #Yes, she is and you will not go near her, understand?#
Yoko grinned, revealing an eyetooth. #I thought I recognized that scent…#
#Yoko, you didn't agree, you had better not go near her …#
Yoko blinked his golden eyes at the growl in his counter‘s voice, looking truly curious but there was a hint of warning in his own. #Or you'll what, Shuichi?#
Kurama blinked, outwardly and inwardly, having no good response for that question. #Just stay away from her, Yoko.#
Yoko mock-saluted as he rolled his eyes. #Yes, sir!# But he smirked as Kurama rolled over to sleep and musing to himself. Too bad for little Shuichi that she's crying over me right now... Can't really leave her that way, can I?
A few moments later Kurama lets out a strangled gasp, coming awake with a start as his body quickly begins to shift into that of Yoko. #No…#
But it was far too late for the red head as Yoko stood up, flexing his claws before nodding to himself and chuckling mentally. #Sorry, Shuichi, but I do have a sad little mouse to comfort…# He let himself trail off as he smirked and slipped out of the room.
Meanwhile .….
You sighed for the umpteenth time as you felt like crawling under a rock. I should have known better…. He admitted he was a thief and demon to boot.... so why does it hurt? You muttered to yourself as you rolled onto your stomach, hiding your face in your arms as you sighed again.
Dang, I haven't felt this bad since Shuichi. You muttered, yes you had been and were still attracted to your best friend. But you also knew that was far as it would go: best friends, he could never see you as anything more and you valued his friendship too much to try to push it. "Best friends and one-night stands. My luck."
At this Yoko entered the room as quietly as only a demon thief may and stood in the shadows by the door, watching you for a bit before he walked over and knelt by the bed, hand gripping your shoulder to prevent you from jumping when he did so. “Now, mouse. I haven't been gone that long.”
Your first reaction: going stiff with surprise and a small gasp. Second reaction: promptly rolling over and slapping his hand away, coming up with a glare to kill.
Yoko’s lips twitched slightly in a frown when you slapped his hand back as he stood up. “Hello to you too.”
"What are you doing? Shouldn't you be off finding some girl to seduce?" You asked, drawing up against the wall as you looked away from him, knees up to your chest to keep yourself from doing anything.
Yoko shrugged lightly. “Why do that when I can always come back to you?”
You snorted as you looked away. "Who said I wanted you to come back?!" You retorted.
In Yoko’s head Kurama‘s voice rang not and not too pleased either. #I agree with her!! Leave her be, Yoko!!#
Mentally Yoko grimaced. #Shush, Shuichi.# He ordered as he looked down at you. “I was sure you did when I left last time. Besides, would you be crying over me otherwise?”
#Conceited... That was a low blow and who said she was crying over you?!# The red headed sounded thoroughly ticked off.
“I wasn’t…” You looked up at him but stopped as he arched an eyebrow at you, daring you to lie, before you looked back down at own feet. “So what if I was? Baka ningen onna right?” You asked, trying to keep your voice from cracking as you said so.
#I said to be quiet, Shuichi. # The silver haired male replied as he allowed a ghostly smile to twitch at his lips at your last comment. “Perhaps. But only if you continue to mope there instead of giving me a proper welcome.“ He smirked as raised one hand palm up, an unspoken invitation.
#Yoko... Leave her be now!!#
# Hmm … how about no?#
You looked up at him for a moments before you sighed. “I'm a idiot.” You muttered to yourself but still you pushed yourself up off the floor and stepped into his open arms, leaning up to kiss him.
Yoko returned the greeting kiss readily, not sure when he realized he had been holding his breath as he waited for your reaction or the different kind of pleasure he felt when you did come to him. Shuichi must have been rubbing off on him he thought as he sighed and wrapped his arms around you, pulling you body against his so that there is no space between them.
#No! Name! Don't let him in!! Tell him to leave!!#
Yoko’s ears twitched at the raised voice of his counterpart. #Hush, Shuichi. I think the onna has made her decision.# He replied as you wrapped one arm around his waist, the other loosely laying on his chest as you continued the kiss, but made no move to deepen it.
Yoko slid his arms under the back of your shirt in response, rubbing out a few of the knots he found, since his hands are itching to do something and at the moment he would like to keep his head. And keep this noise level in his head down for now.
#Yoko!! Don't you touch her! Leave her alone!# Kurama was now all but shouting though unable to look away even if he could do so.
You shuddered as you felt him touch you back and sighed softly as the side of your head brushed against his cheek while your right hand rubbed small circles over his chest. "What ...." You paused, you wasn't sure you wanted the answer but you had to ask it. At the very least, to know the truth. "What kept you?" You asked as it came out a dry whisper while your stomach knotted.
Yoko frowned a bit, at Kurama’s protests and the fear that was all too clear in your voice. #Shuichi, last warning - Shut up.# He growled before answering you. “I was kept away by somethings I had to take care of. Best for you to not know any details. Might give you nightmares.” He smirked a bit before lowering his head to press a kiss on your neck.
"I .." You bit down on your lower lip, eyes closing for a moment when he kissed your neck as you managed to stuttered out. "Other...d..demons?"
Yoko grunted. “Hn. You could say that…“ He muttered against the tender flesh before moving his mouth to suckle on the skin at the junction of your neck and shoulder, his hands moving to your sides while you took in a sharp breath and your hands found their way upwards, gently rubbing the base of his ears as your former curiosity flared.
At the same time Kurama was fighting against his mental bonds. #Yoko stop! That is an order!# *
Yoko couldn’t help the soft moan that escaped him when your hands started on his ears as he nipped a little more than usual at the sensitive skin before answering his counter, playing his trump card. #Why, Shuichi? Jealous?#
Kurama stopped his struggles for a moment upon hearing Yoko’s question before he snarled. #No! But I will NOT let you hurt her!!#
#I assure you, hurting her in the last thing on my mind ...#
You stilled for a moment at his soft moan, unknowing of the inner conflict that your actions were setting. “So even you have a weak spot …“ You teased softly, a small smirk in your voice as you rubbed the back of the ears a little harder, scratching slightly.
Yoko lets out a soft growl before lifting you easily up for a moment and laying you on the bed, all without letting his lips leave your neck. #If you've no want to claim her, Shuichi, she's mine. Deal with it.#
#Claim?# Kurama stiffened before swearing in both a Makaian dialect and Japanese. #YOKO! GET OFF OF HER AND LEAVE HER ALONE NOW!!#
Your hands left his ears only to hold onto his shoulders when he picked you up before you found yourself suddenly looking up at the ceiling. “Hello.” You muttered softly before you let your hand trail back up to the fox‘s ears at a small nip from him.
Yoko hid his wince well when Kurama's yell went through his head, but for the most part ignored it and trail his lips to your collarbone, nipping slightly with a soft nuzzle as you returned attention back to his ears. But Kurama was started growling, probably as angry as he's ever been at Yoko.
Yoko chuckled mentally at the growling as he gently licked the small red marks his teeth had left behind. #If nothing else, Shuichi, the ear-rubs make this worth it…# He snickered to which Kurama only growled again.
As one of your hand stayed playing at his ears the others trailed down his back, slightly frustrated with the cloth concealing his body but dealing as you slipped your hand under, exploring his back but digging in slightly when he licked his nip marks.
Yoko rumbled a bit as your hands dug at his back and pulled away only enough to look at your shirt and then at you, questioningly, ignoring the squeak like sound and the protest from his counterpart.
You understood that look plainly even as you felt your cheeks flame some but looking up at him you nodded. “Yours first...” You whispered, pushing slightly on his chest to get him to let you sit up.
Yoko pulled himself up was he was sitting back on his knees and pulled off the garment he calls a shirt, revealing pale slim, rippling muscles in the slivery moonlight before looking at expectantly. “Your turn mouse.” He replied with a small smile.
You ignored his statement for a few moments as you looked at him, getting a slight smile as you enjoyed the sight. Nice. Very nice. You thought before you looked up to meet his glaze for a second and removed your own shirt, but instinctively crossing your arms over your chest after the shirt was toss aside.
Yoko purred appreciatively, enjoying the view and the sound of shock echoing from Kurama in his mind as he pulled you into his arms again, gently pushing you back down to lie and returning his lips to their place at your collarbone.
You let her hands explore the newly reveled flesh of his body, enjoying the feel of skin on skin while you tilted your head slightly to the side to give him more room as one hand drifted downwards, gently rubbing the base of his tail.
Yoko moaned and barely restrained the urge to thrust your hips together as shudders ran through him. “Don't...do that…“ He nipped the top of you breast warningly as his mouth moved with open kisses over your breasts, trailing after his hands.
You stilled at the warning nip but then pressed your fingers down again as you rubbed a small circle at the spot where his tail joined his body. “Do what?” You asked teasingly, throwing his own words back at him.
But Kurama was not enjoying the passion between the two of you as black rage boiled in him, not at you but rather at Yoko, not in fear for your safely but that the act that it was Yoko bringing such a reaction from you! He was practically letting off poisonous fumes as he finds a chink in the chains around him. #Yoko, leave her be now, or I will do one of the worst things I could do at this moment ..…#
Yoko moaned again, arching his back slightly at the sensations. #Oh really, Shuichi? Would you really tell this little vixen the truth like this?#
Kurama growled angrily, barely able to restrain his temper at those words and the tone Yoko spoke in. Another time he would wonder how he would come to speak of you with such affection but right now that was the last thing on his mind.
Yoko mentally smirk. #That's what I thought… now if you will kindly shut up and enjoy I have a little mouse that needs my attentions at this moment ..#
Kurama seethed as he shook off the mental chains and surged forward, taking control enough to make Yoko pull back. #I may not be able to tell her the truth this way, but I won't let you have your way with her, Yoko!#
Yoko was suddenly staring back onto his feet snarling softly outwardly with the interior rage between the two consciences. #Damn you, Shuichi!!# He hissed as the two struggled for control.
You opened your eyes when you felt him move suddenly feeling cold as you sat up. “Yoko ...?“ You asked, teeth biting down on your lower lip when snarled and you stayed where you sat. "I'm sorry I didn't think that would really bother you .." You started as your fists clenched tightly when he growled again. "Way to good girl, first Shuichi then him .." You thought you had said it too low for him to hear.
It would take a deaf and dumb human much less demon to miss the fear in your voice or the self-disgust and Yoko found himself growling though he wasn’t sure at what: himself or your reaction to his seeming withdraw as he made his ears twitch as if listening to something and sighed. “I can't stay... Another demon is coming and I should move on before you get hurt.” Though a necessary excuse he found it felt like only half a lie. He had no want of you getting hurt and felt his human side turn attention to his own words in surprise; where was that coming from? “Don't worry, though, I'll be back again.” He smirked teasingly as he leaned forward to kiss you goodbye as Shuichi jump in his mind at what you said and Yoko’s own words.
You readily kissed him back, hands resting on his shoulders slightly; you didn't want him to go you realized. “Please .... come back soon.”
Yoko nodded and pulled away only slightly so that his lips are next to your ear. “As soon as I possibly can. And whoever this Shuichi is...” He smirked against your skin, the irony not lost on him. “He's an idiot.” He hissed softly as he pulled away fully and vanished out the window along with his shirt.
You blinked, open mouth at his last comment. “Wait what …?!” You asked but he was gone. “Baka kitsune.“ You muttered but wore a tired smile as you laid back down with a small sigh though you not get dressed again, skin far too sensitive to put the shirt back on as you laid down, looking out the open window. “Come back soon Yoko.” You whispered.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

At that time

Kurama had remained silent during the goodbye, not even when offering a word at the insult. #S ... sh ... she ... she … #

#Shut up.# Yoko snarled back as he slipped away back into the room he had been given and on the bed before allowing the body to shift back to Kurama's as he growled. #You are a fool!!#

Kurama laid there, staring up at the ceiling, his eyes like saucers. “She...”

#Yes.# The other cut off impatiently. #She was attracted to you, you baka!! She seems to have had feelings for you at one time! You should've taken advantage of that before now!# Growled the inner spirit.

#Is that all you think about, Yoko?# Kurama snipped back annoyed before his mind returned to the present. #Why didn't I see it?#

Yoko yawned and did a mental stretch. #Because you're a foolish idiot who can't see what's right in front of him until it's too late? Hell even Hiei could tell she cared for you baka!!#

Kurama twitched slightly. #You're not helping ...#

Yoko raised an eyebrow and smirk. #Why would I help? She's mine now, boy. If you will not return her affections I will most certainly be pleased to do so.# He showed an eyetooth in his smirk.

#Yoko ...#

#Ah I see some jealously. Admit it Shuichi, the idea of her as she was back there isn’t so bad until you realize it was me, not you, but me that she was touching, that it was me she was falling for. #

That stopped the redhead short. #I don’t …#

#You can lie to yourself but you are not that stupid.# Yoko growled. #You have allowed yourself to be around other humans too long when you cannot see your own desires ... Or cares for a woman.# Yoko’s voice soften some.

Kurama’s eyes widen. #Wait, you ...#

Yoko snorted. #Yes. You know well enough to know I have never spent as much time trying to persuade or tried to shield a woman as I have my mouse. Remember Shuichi, we are two parts of the same soul, your feelings for the girl as the same as mine.#

#You have not said anything of it before ...#

Yoko shrugged mentally. #I was not sure myself until tonight. But besides that you were starting to lose her, I had to step in sooner or later. She merely provided the prefect means as I am not one to ignore the call for a thief. And look what I have taken now.#

# …. She was afraid, when we pulled back..# Kurama mused as he listened intensely, he could faintly hear you in the other room, breathing evening out though not deep enough for you to be asleep yet. #I do not know ... why I did not see it before ....#

#It isn't my fault you're too blind to see the obvious…#

Kurama wanted to sweat drop, a very rare occurrence. #I have an idea…#

#Oh? Do tell, Shuichi?# Yoko asked, actually sounding curious at the suddenly serious tone.

Kurama sighed at the blow this'll be to his pride. #How about we...share her?#

#SHARE HER?!#

Kurama winced at the echoing shout in his mind.

Yoko calmed down, though the image of him had his ears and tail twitching. #How do you propose we share her, Shuichi?#

Kurama shakes his head at how wrong that sounded coming from Yoko. #You may go to her in your body, but do not force me out, let me give you assistance. At least until she's ready to know the truth about us. Technically she'll belong to both of us anyway, since we're only of one body, but this way we both get something out of it?#

Yoko did not answer for a few minutes, thinking. # Hmmm... I say that if you screw up my fun, the deal's off. But, other than that, fine!#

Kurama sighed as he nodded. #Good. Now, could we actually go to sleep?#

#Sure, why not? After all I cannot rightly go back to her now.# Yoko mumbled but relented as he went silent allowing the redhead to truly sleep, the night’s events and revelations leaving him depleted. Goodnight Name, and we will be returning soon. He thought as sleep overtook him.
