Scene 2
Scene 2 ----------- The Main Cave
* When Hiei enters he stops to look his waking pack over. They all grow quiet as he studies them so intensely. Each one of them now easily shows their various stages of pregnancy, with only the couple exceptions of D'Tara and Staci. Hiei's eyes finally settle on Klarice and he goes over closer to her. When she looks up at him Hiei can clearly see that she's not too comfortable.
Klarice- Master?
* Hiei moves around behind her and sits down. Klarice relaxes when he pulls her back against him. Sarista comes over to join them. Hiei glances at his Alpha mate, then buries his face in Klarice's aqua-colored hair. The Ice hybrid turns her confused grey eyes toward Sarista.
Sarista- He can feel that you're uncomfortable, Klarice.
Klarice- Well of course I am.. I'll be giving birth soon..
Hiei- You will alert Sarista and Trinka if you have even the slightest twinge of pain.
Klarice- Yes, sir.. It's not completely unbearable, yet.. What happened to make you like this?
Sarista- One of those brothers' mates had a stillborn.. We just barely were there in time to save his mate.
* Klarice lowers her eyes, then turns in Hiei's arms to snuggle against his chest.
Klarice- This child of yours is very healthy, Hiei.
* Hiei relaxes, but continues holding the small female. For a moment, his thoughts turn to Yukina. Then he presses them away and begins to nuzzle against her temple. Besides his irritation, this semi-loss of his ability to control his own emotions has become another deep concern. Has he been around these females too long? Is it because of his bond to them, that has grown steadily stronger? Klarice's voice interrupts his distraction before he becomes too much more deeply involved in them.
Klarice- I'm glad that you're concerned.
Hiei- Well, of course I'm concerned.. You all claim that your conditions are my fault..
* He lays one of his hands on her rounded belly. She and Sarista have long since grown accustomed to their Alpha's inability to express himself correctly at times.
Klarice- This won't be my first baby, you know.
Hiei- It doesn't matter.. It will be.. my first.
Sarista- Only because she doesn't carry as long as I do.
* Hiei scowls slightly, then looks up at Sarista.
Hiei- All of these.. babies will be important to me.. I won't have any jealousy..!
* Sarista's eyes widen and she looks at Hiei.
Sarista- That wasn't spoken out of jealousy. It was merely fact.
* Sarista reaches over to stroke Klarice's hair.
Sarista- Is that how it sounded, Sister?
Klarice- Yes. But I'll forgive you.
* Klarice's mouth twitches into a smirk as she leans more into Hiei's embrace, enjoying this show of affection that's grown rare from him these past few days. Sarista pulls her hand back and stands. Hiei looks up when she turns to return to her alcove.
Hiei- Klarice was only..
Sarista- I'm tired.
* Klarice glances toward Sarista, but decides not to say anything else. Hiei feels another presence enter the cave a moment before Shironji appears in a hovering, one-kneed kneeling position.
Shironji- M'Lord,..
Hiei- Not now.
Shironji- But I..
* Hiei glares at the tiny Ninjini demon.
Hiei- I said.. not.. now, Shironji.
* Shironji bows his head.
Hiei- I'll get your report later.
Shironji- Yes, sir.
* Gamaru comes over as Shironji disappears in his signature poof of smoke.
Gamaru- Is that cockroach demon edible?
* Hiei looks up at his rotund subordinate.
Hiei- No.
Gamaru- S---.. I'm starving.
* Everyone in the cave chuckles then Troiyoku comes over.
Troiyoku- I am too, brother.. Let's go see if we can catch something.
Hiei- Minoro's on the Lookout.. Take him with you.
Gamaru- Whatever.
* Silis stands, but Gamaru glares at him.
Gamaru- No.. I'll bring you something back.
* Silis sighs, but lays back down. Hiei sends Minoro the telepathic order to accompany the brothers as they leave the cave. When he checks Klarice again, she is fast asleep once more. Hiei sighs, looks toward Sarista, then relaxes to stay with Klarice. All the others settle down to get a little more sleep themselves.
