CHAPTER 2 !!!!!
Enjoy~!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hiei was hurt, both emotionally and physically. The one person he’d trusted had betrayed him. For someone with a

past like his, there was no turning back. Hiei had been betrayed, he would never forgive Kurama and he would

never forget. Hiei would not seek vengeance, and he would not acknowledge what Kurama had done, but, he would

never forget. Hiei would never hate Kurama, but he would never give Kurama the same amount of trust as he had in

the past. Hiei’s personality would degenerate. The slight friendliness he had given to Kurama was withdrawn and

forgotten. Yusuke, and Kuwabara would be kept at even farther a distance. Mukuro would get an heir that focussed

on training and nothing else. He no longer existed for his sister. Hiei existed solely for becoming stronger.

Kurama’s betrayal had hit Hiei hard. The one person he actually trust had betrayed and hurt him. He would never

ever trust again.

Three months had passed since then and Hiei had changed since then. Hiei's changes were

drastic, showing just how badly Kurama had hurt Hiei. Hiei's whole style had changed. The black cloak with the

white scarf that he usually wore, along with the black tank top and black pants with three belts were gone.

Instead, Hiei wore a modified version of his cloak. It had a hood now instead of being so open and exposed.

Hiei's white scarf was gone too. Instead, a skin tight spandex mask covered his neck and mouth, hiding both from

view. In the sea of darkness of the hood of Hiei's cloak, his glittering ruby red eyes were the only things that

stood out from the cloak. His eyes were cold. They had been frosty before, but, now they were colder and

crueler. Hiei's eyes with one look froze you in place in fear. Even high ranking demons had to stop and reassess

him. Hiei had grown three inches in height and was a taller, more formidable force to be dealt with. Hiei's

posture made him seem more dangerous as well. He stood straighter, and when he glared at you, the ruby eyes

seemed to bore deeper into you than ever before.

Under Hiei's cloak, the black spandex mask was apparently part of the top Hiei wore. It was a spandex long

sleeved shirt that when he took off his cloak, the shirt outlined every single muscle on his upper torso. The

tank top was black still, and it was tighter too. Even though the clothes he wore hid the mark Kurama had left

claiming him, Hiei still felt it twinge every time Kurama came to mind and that served to anger him even more.

Hiei took it out on his troops, or on the missions he took his troops on. He worked the troops to the bone, and

killed those whom didn't meet his standards, pushing the demons under him to work harder in terror of being

killed. He had their loyalty out of fear, and on a certain level, he had their respect.

Hiei's pants were a black pants that were much like his original pair that he'd worn the days before Kurama had

claimed him. The only difference was that the three belts were black. The bandage around his arm marking the

binding of the black dragon were also black with lines of silver criss-crossing across the bandages. The dragon

tattoo itself had changed too. Not only was it sleeker, and thinner, but, it was far more powerful. The power

that rolled off of it was no longer it's own power. It lay dormant, as if a kitten appealling to its' master.

Hiei controlled it with an iron fist now. Hiei was the most powerful controller of it now. The power it once

controlled was Hiei's power. Hiei wasn't as weak as he had been three month's ago. Hiei was almost on par with

Mukuro, strong enough to nearly rival Youko Kurama. Hiei's power was that strong. He could now fight the Youko,

and Kurama, and be on equal footing with both of them. Hiei was no longer the one that was a guaranteed loser to

Kurama. Now, if they fought, Hiei would fight to death, not just because of the mark, but because Hiei could not

stand to lose unless he was too weak to fight back. Hiei would never surrender again. Kurama had shown him first

hand what would happen to those who surrendered. Hiei would be raped, or killed. Hiei would rather die fighting

than die in captivity.

Hiei's startling changes had surprised Mukuro at first, but this new dedication, this new desire to be strong

impressed her greatly. She rather liked this new Hiei. He was becoming an heir worthy of earning the kingdom she

was leaving behind. However, after some time, she began to tire of this new attitude of his. It was tougher than

before, and harder to read and manipulate. As it was, she'd barely been able to manipulate him, and when she

had, it hadn't been by much, but it had been enough to help her get things done. Now, she was lucky if she could

get Hiei to follow a suggestion. She had to order him now. Instead of suggesting with a "Why don't you" she had

to say "Hiei, I want this done by....." If she even suggested something like taking a break to visit his

'friends' in the ningenkai, Hiei shot her a shocking glare, that froze even her in her tracks briefly. He would

say with that same imposing glare "No." that one word, held so much strength, fear and command in it, Mukuro

once almost forgot whom she was and nearly bowed said "Yes Lord Hiei." If she hadn't remembered just whom she

was, she would have never lived it down with the Hiei in the past. Now, she knew Hiei wouldn't even acknowledge

her near mistake.

Hiei had indeed changed greatly she mused as she stared down at Hiei training her troops. ' They've begun to

shape up more under Hiei's command now. I don't know what's gotten into him these past three months, but

whatever it is, it's gotten him to shape up the troops. He has become a stronger heir, even more worthy of being

my second-in- command.
' If only Mukuro knew the truth. Even she would have stood up and fought Youko Kurama

for her heir's protection and safety. Mukuro, unaware of the reasons why her heir was suddenly shaping up, was

proud of her heir and was glad to have picked him now that he had begun to shape up and take command of the

troops like she had been waiting for him to do for a long time. A month later however, Mukuro was no longer

singing that tune. Instead she rathered Hiei gone for awhile to cool his head.

He had been training the troops mercilessly this past month, giving them little time to rest. He had them

sleeping four to five hours a night before he woke them up and had them training again. While she couldn't deny

that her troops were looking better than ever, but she didn't like how tired her men seemed after seeing as

tired soldiers made for weak and useless soldiers, so it wasn't long before she finally summoned Hiei up to her

office. Hiei appeared like a wraith, she barely noticed him appear. If it wasn't for the Ki signature, she would

have never known that he was there, waiting for her orders. Mukuro set the pen down she was using to write with

and sat back in her seat. She took a moment to mull over her words. Finally, she spoke "Hiei, you're exhausting

the troops. They need more than just four or five hours of sleep." Hiei spoke finally, his voice was gravelly

and hoarse from lack of use as he said his tone surprisingly conveying his newfound cruelty and coldness "Then

that is what makes them weak." Mukuro spoke again "Yes, they are weak. But you are not strengthening them

anymore, and you are tiring themout needlessly." Before Hiei could respond, she held up a hand to stop him from

speaking. She said "Vacation. You are to spend the next six months in the ningenkai. Do not come back until six

full months have passed. You will not be welcomed back into my territory until six months are up. Should you

return before then, your reason must be valid. I will not have my heir destroy himself and my troops." Hiei

spoke again, his voice never changing "Is that a command?" Mukuro nodded her head and said "Yes Hiei, it is a

command."

In a flash, Hiei was gone. It was as if he had never been there in the first place. Mukuro then went back to

work as if nothing had happened. Hiei on the other hand flitted to the portal that led to the Ningenkai, his

speed had increased greatly, he was fast enough to make greater distances before he stopped being an invisible

blur, to become a physical solid shape again. When Hiei slipped through the forest, he immediately resided in a

nearby tree, Katana in his lap. Hiei's katana was a now black blade, that was sharper, more deadly and more

defined. The handle was an onyx black, in laid with amethyst stones, the amethyst flecks coated the smooth

handle of the blade to make it seem in sunlight that the black onyx of the blade was dark enough to have purple

flecks dance along it easily. The katana was a simple black scabbard. Hiei had made no effort to get a fancy

scabbard, he had no use for such frivolous things after all. Hiei settled into his tree branch quietly and was

soon asleep. He would sense anyone approaching and had nothing to fear. If he was caught unaware again, he would

attack and to kill, no matter who it was. Even if it was Kurama.

The old Hiei had disappeared now.
