Honesty, Really: An Outlook
The Naked Truth: a Discovery

~start chapter two~
The fox walked alongside him, numb with the shock and the now cold gust of wind brought about by post summer nights. The last time he had a walk like this was when he found out his mother’s getting married; however, that time, he was smiling proudly at the thought of his human mother’s happiness. This time, it was a blank, slack-jawed face that he was carrying.
Hiei had his arm linked with him, as tight as he could, making sure the predator takes in his prey. Kurama never knew why this had happened. He was still shocked, and the confusion’s queued behind it.
They walked across alleys the predator may not even know. He doesn’t want to know; he doesn’t even want to admit the sight and the feelings that overcame him in the nest. He needed to forget it.
“Kurama.”
The name was brutal to his ears. Hiei simply stared away from the now stiff friend of his, still not over from the scene he has experienced. It seemed necessary for the fire demon to coax the fox into speaking to him. But he knew he had no skills at all to make a person open to him; he wasn’t the type who starts conversations.
An hour passed and the two were still there, standing, Kurama still unmoving and Hiei’s patience running out. “Alright, that’s it.”
“…”
“Kurama, talk to me. Please.”
“…”
“K’so.”
“…Hi-“
“I was looking for you.”
This made Kurama snap his head towards Hiei. He never knew the shorter demon would actually try to look for him in there. Not only that, but the fact that he was looking for him made him think and delve deeper into his thoughts, the shock completely absorbed by his psyche.
“I was looking for you.”
“Why? Why there?”
“I wanted to show you something.”
“What? Hiei, of all places why there? That was a god-forsaken place filled with filth and moaning whores. I don’t believe this…”
Out of the corner in his eyes he looked at his companion. Hiei was at a loss. It seems that he himself doesn’t know why he looked for Kurama in there and ended up fucking some people. Maybe it was the overwhelming musk of pheromones that hung in the air of the nest. It was a lustful event.
“I was looking for you because… I-I…”
“You were going to show me something. Hiei, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
They were going nowhere. Now, Kurama is facing Hiei, and Hiei was the one trying to go away but neither wished to leave now. They needed to finish something here.
“Don’t say nothing. What is it?”
At the exact moment. Hiei stopped and unlinked his arm from Kurama’s. He was facing the pavement not wanting to look into the green orbs of his friend. Kurama was looking at him expectantly, waiting for the words to form out of his friend’s mouth.
It was a windy night and the moon was full, shining down on the two silent, still companions. The gust of the wind gave Hiei the chance to recollect and reevaluate his purpose of Kurama’s now inquiring position. The redhead was still waiting; the cold, and the clouds, wanes his lust and the drive the moon gave him.
“I was looking for you. I was… worried.”
This made Kurama flinch. Hiei was his friend, a friend who seemed to be never there and will always be even if they’re literally worlds apart. The words that he just heard broke his heart. The humiliation and the desperation Hiei saw…
“You were worried? Wha-I… God – I…”
“I went to your house. Shiori told me you went out. She knew me. I didn’t know she did.”
“She saw you once. She asked me.”
“That’s not the fucking point! Why? Why’d you go there? Tell me.”
“No it wasn’t him. It was me. Oh god. I want to blame him but I can’t. The moon… It was a drive Hiei. I’m ONLY human…”
“Don’t say that.”
Hiei cares. Too much for my sake. He might be emotionless for most people, even to Youko but me… He cared. For a reason I don’t know. And that’s why I feel so wrong, dirty, unworthy, depressed like a stupid human should. A puny and pathetic weakling with only a stupid soul of an eon-old Youko granting me a chance to have a friend like Hiei.
“And why shouldn’t I? I don’t even get why you’d actually look for me and not ask for the fox. I’m human. Only-”
“Shut up. I referred to Youko as it’s his instincts that may drive you over the edge. The lust of that demon is too overwhelming and with a body like yours… You might end up hurt or even worse dead.”
Kurama can only bow his head, while Hiei’s gaze lingered to him. The redhead was guilty, depressed and utterly embarrassed. He doesn’t know what to think anymore. Hiei’s worry was eating through him. Until… Youko?!
His laughter broke the silence in the night, the paling cheeks flushed back to it’s excited hue. Hiei was right.
“Gods Hiei. You are so fucking right. Fuck. Haha. A genius.”
“Shut the fuck up fox. I knew it. Another one of your mood swings. It brought more than enough trouble I could handle. Humanity’s overwhelming your senile brain.”
“I am NOT senile Hiei. My soul is old, and this shell is my second chance. It was stupid of me to be overly dramatic after I got wasted in that nest. Gods..”
The redhead wiped the tears that came out of his eyes as he laughed, the rich voice of his rippling through the night sky. Hiei simply looked at him with a lop-sided gaze, a grin escaping his control.
“So realize your idiocy, huh, fox? Sheesh. You were rutting for months and your human side took over you. Stupid.”
“Oh but you still managed to touch my heart when you said-“
“Oh shut up. I was alright. That defines the fact that you can’t go without for a matter of months. I beat ye.”
“Beat me? For being a celibate? Hah. Hiei, I’m sorry your sex life isn’t as rich as mine.”
“Whatever fox.”
“Hrm… but you did show off something really interesting inside that building. And for some reason… You were quite enticing.”
At this Hiei’s eyes went wide. The fox he knew and befriended was coming back, and the sky is once again as clear as before, revealing a naked pale moon, it’s light striking against the now-changing redhead. The sly, the coy, the fox.
It WAS a long night. And it still is going to be one. Run for it shrimp.
~end chapter two~
A/n: AHAHAHAHA… I intended to make it angst… haha. Stupid me. The title might be not fitting but in a way… I think I uncovered a part of Kurama. Funneh… please review.
