Demons demons everywhere
AN: Alright, you managed to convince me. Now here is the new chap!!
Yusuke sat in his living room; he had a cigarette in one hand, a bottle of beer in the other. He sat quietly, tears running down his face, the scene from the night before running through his mind.
“Hiei, why?’ He asked himself over and over again, even though his heart knew the reason. He wasn’t sure how he felt about what had happened, but he knew that he didn’t regret it. After all, it was mostly his fault. He sighed and took another gulp of beer.
“What am I going to do” continued to be his mantra.
Hiei sat, glaring into nothing, the noises from the other room filling the apartment. Shizuru and Kurama were in the other room, the squeaking and light moans permeating through the walls. Suddenly Kurama yelled out “Jesus Shizuru, can’t you put that damn cigarette out ?!”
“Oh, shut up”
The noise continued until Hiei could no longer take it. He got up and walked out of the house. He wasn’t wearing his usual uniform, but a pair of jeans and black shirt and a light leather jacket.
Even now, while wearing ningen clothing, it amazed Hiei how much he continued to stand out from the crowd. Of course, the height of his hair didn’t help much.
He walked down the street completely brushing off all the looks, stares, and gawking he received while he went on his way. Hiei walked towards a liquor store to meet with a friend named scotch, when he realized that he had no form of I.D., and that he would not be able to purchase the booze. Damn.
He walked around, noticing that the town had changed very little since the Spirit Detective days, and if memory served him right, he was about to reach a small park. As he thought about the old days, he couldn’t help but laugh at how weak Yusuke was only a few years back. It was truly amazing that one of the most powerful demons in all the three worlds ten years ago, didn’t even know that demons existed. No one would be able to stop him in this world, and who knew how much stronger he could become.
In all reality, Hiei was jealous of Yusuke, but only in one regard; he didn’t die. Twice now Yusuke had bit the dust but had returned. Even though fairness and justice were weak human terms, Hiei couldn’t help but think ‘it’s not fair’. He had seen people die, at both his hands and others, yet none of them received a second chance, let alone a third.
For the second time that day, he felt familiar demon energy behind him. He turned around to see Yukina. Long ago had she forsaken her kimono for loose fitting sweaters and jeans. Her hair had grown much longer, making it fall down her back gracefully. She was stunning.
“Hiei!” She called out, giving him a hug. Long ago she had found out that he was her brother. When Kuwabara found out he almost died from both the shock, and the end of Hiei katana. Of course by now Yukina and Kuwabara were happily married although, they still didn’t have any kids.
“Yukina!” Hiei said, startled “Haven’t seen you in a while.”
She giggled lightly before saying “Now whose fault is that?” playfully. Kuwabara turned a corner, when he was Hiei, he almost wet himself.
“Shorty!! What are you doing back here?”
“Scenery” Hiei retorted with a smirk, in that tone of voice he reserved only for Kuwabara.
“Hiei, we have to go now, but how about you come over for dinner tomorrow, and bring Kurama and Shizuru with you?”
Hiei nodded, said that he would come before they parted ways.
By the time Hiei got back to the house, Kurama and Shizuru were curled up on the couch while watching T.V.
“Hey kid, were you been?” Shizuru asked once Hiei walked in.
“I took a walk. Yukina wants us to go to he house tomorrow for dinner.”
“Sounds like a plan.”
“I’m tired, I’m going to bed.”
He headed to there guest bedroom, which was unremarkable, and slowly began to drift to sleep. His mind was plagued with nightmares all night. Hiei would see Yusuke sitting in a forest, crying, all alone. Hiei would slowly approach him and try to comfort his friends, only to have Yusuke burst into flames before him. When he awoke, the same thought always entered his mind, just what had he done to Yusuke?
Yusuke awoke on the other side of town. He was tired of moping around, which meant he wanted to kick some ass. He got dressed and called Boton down, commanding her to take him to Koenma.
Ogres, imps and demons alike jumped out of the way as Yusuke walked down the hall. He slammed into Koenma’s office, pounded his hands on his desk and yelled “I want a mission!!!” He didn’t care what it was, he just wanted to get out of his apartment, and back to the old days.
“I’m sorry Yusuke, but for once, we have no missions for you.” Koenma said calmly.
“I don’t care!! Make something up!”
“Fine!!! There is a demon bandit somewhere in Japan. NOW GE T THE HELL OUT OF MY OFFICE!!”
Yusuke knocked loudly on Kurama’s door. Maybe the fox had some information that would be useful to the mazoku. He heard the faint, gravelly yell of Shizuru before he heard someone open the door. Neither Kurama nor Shizuru stood in front of him, but instead it was Hiei.
“H-Hiei, I forgot you were here, I’ll come back some other time.”
“No, Yusuke, wait!” Hiei said as Yusuke ran out of sight “Damn it, now I have to chase him. Hiei ran after Yusuke until the young demon suddenly turned around to face him.
“Hiei, I don’t know what to do or what to think, all I know is that…. I think….I love you.” And with that he ran away, leaving a stunned Hiei in his wake.
Sorry that took so long. I hope you guys liked it. I will post the new chap soon!! Thanks to all of you that reviewed!!!
