Hiei's Harem - Pt. 16 - Attaining

Okay, here are the last two scenes of this sequel. Only two sequels left in this arc, though.

Scene 19 --------------- A Couple Hours Later


* Hiei and his pack are in the cafeteria having lunch because Sylk and Habataro got in a food fight that left the kitchen in Hiei’s suite needing a bit of facelifting. They’ve all noticed that their Alpha’s jagan is glowing faintly behind his bandana. Since they understand the reason why, none of them mention it or disturb his silent concentration. The Koorime eats and remains quietly distracted until Koenma comes over.


Koenma- May I..?


* Hiei half glances up at the Teen and gives his ascent with just a grunt. Koenma chooses a chair across from him when it’s vacated.


Koenma- I see you already know my news.

Hiei- Hn. He’s coming.. And he’s not alone.


* Dagon and the Lynx brothers look at Hiei.


Habataro- He’s coming with an army?

Hiei- Hn.. And his name is Kurama.


* Sylk glares over at Hiei from his left side.


Sylk- The Youko b------ that..?!


* The immediate glare Hiei gives Sylk shuts her up. Koenma glances between them puzzledly a moment.


Koenma- So do you think it’s a good thing that he’s bringing Kurama?

Hiei- How the h--- should I know? I can’t read their thoughts from this distance.. Maybe he’s gambling that I won’t kill him if he has the Fox with him.

Koenma- Hiei, we have no idea if that’s why he’s even coming.

Dagon- He’s a Supreme Lord.. Why else would he be coming?

Kumataro- How soon will he..?

Yusuke- He’ll be here within the hour.


* They all look up at the Toushin when he comes over.


Hiei- Hn.

Yusuke- I agree with Junior for a change, Hiei.. Maybe he’s just coming because he’s concerned about what happened to Mukuro.

Hiei- Maybe he thinks I took her out.

Yusuke- Did you?


* Hiei slowly looks back up at him coldly.


Hiei- How dare you even..!


* Yusuke waves him off placatingly as he moves to sit down at the end of the table beside Dagon. The Crow averts his eyes to smile at Kumataro, on his other side, nervously.


Yusuke- Relax, Shorty.. I just wanted to see how you’d react.. You know he’s going to ask you the same question.

Hiei- And I’ll give him the same answer.. Go to h---.


* Hiei watches Yusuke look at Dagon then growls as he stands to leave.


Hiei- Yusuke, stop ogling my subordinate!


* The rest of the pack stands to follow Hiei out.


Yusuke- Hey, don’t leave on my account.

Hiei- We’re going outside to prepare for this confrontation.. You may be on to something.

Yusuke- Like what?


* Yusuke stands to follow after them leaving Koenma sitting alone at the large table. Dagon and the Lynxs pause at the doorway to allow Yusuke to take a spot beside Hiei as they go down the hall. The Toushin half glances back at them as he listens to Hiei.


Hiei- Perhaps he thinks I’ve become power-hungry since I’ve won my position in the Barren Lands.

Yusuke- You and I both know you better than that.. Kurama should know better.

Hiei- We’ll find out in about an hour.


* When they reach the big side door Hiei isn’t surprised to find Kirin leaning there. The Koorime turns to look up at Sylk.


Hiei- I want you..

Sylk- To stay right by your side? Wise choice, Master.


* She crosses her arms adamantly. Yusuke thumbs toward her.


Yusuke- I think I like this one, too.


* Sylk growls at Yusuke.


Sylk- You stink like a Human.


* Hiei rolls his eyes and turns away.


Hiei- Open the door, General.


* Kirin gives a quick bow and obeys.


Yusuke- So, do you have Staci tied up in your bedroom to keep her from being here?


* Hiei ignores the question as they go down the ramp. Yusuke tilts his head, watches them go a moment, then follows.


Yusuke- All your guys.. and her are here.. Do you have someone else guarding her?


* Habataro and Dagon look at each other.


Habataro- D--- this guy can be annoying.

Dagon- Humans call it tenacity.

Coutaro- I call it stupidity.


* Hiei’s brow twitches then he turns to glare up at Yusuke.


Hiei- What is your hang up with her?!

Yusuke- She’s a Human.. They’re not up on all this demon stuff.

Hiei- She was brought here as a child.. She’s grown up being exposed to this.. stuff.

Yusuke- Where is she? You have her hid pretty d--- well. I can’t even..

Hiei- I told you before! She’s no longer your concern!

Yusuke- And I told you. I consider her a friend.. I didn’t really take her by force, ya know.


* Dagon and Habataro exchange glances. They can feel Hiei’s anger spiking.


Yusuke- After I explained why I needed her help she agreed..

Hiei- Then why don’t you go visit her? I released her and took her back to the shrine.. If something goes wrong with Yomi you may feel free to go claim her.


* Hiei turns away. With his jagan open he’s been able to figure out what the Toushin was trying to do. He refuses to fall for the ploy.


Yusuke- You..? Why the h--- did you release her?!

Hiei- You’re a genius. You figure it out.

Yusuke- I suppose you used that eye of yours on her to..

Hiei- Give it up. I’m not falling for your goading, Detective.


* Realizing that his motive’s been discovered, Yusuke reaches out to grasp Hiei’s warded arm.


Yusuke- I just want you to be ready.. But if you do have to fight Yomi..

Hiei- I’ll do so.


* Yusuke lifts the hand to rub his nose a moment, then crosses his arms.


Yusuke- Everyone in that bug has been wondering which side I would stand on.. I’m hoping that both you and Kurama should know.


* After a couple moments Hiei turns to look back up at Yusuke.


Yusuke- If I could rip this d--- orb thingy out of me.. I’d give it to you.. Is that plain enough?

Hiei- Hn.. But this isn’t your fight.. So stay out of it.


* Hiei turns away again. Yusuke’s words do cause Hiei to consider what might happen if he is indeed forced to fight Yomi.


(#) Hiei- Hab, if I fall.. Make sure Yusuke and Kurama know about their offspring.. Try to stay alive long enough to tell them.


* Habataro and the others look down at Hiei. The Koorime half glances toward them.


Hiei- You will stay back and not interfere if I’m forced to fight. That’s an order!


* Sylk and Yusuke both start to speak at the same time.


Hiei- All of you!


* With that he moves away some to concentrate on the approaching ball of energy. Yusuke feels it growing closer as well, but stays back to give Hiei space to gather himself. Habataro touches Sylk’s arm.


(#) Habataro- You know that he has to do this alone.. if his position is challenged.


* Sylk glances at Habataro then brushes his hand away. Slowly she nods. All of them settle down to wait.
