Hiei's Harem - Pt. 15 - Moving

Do you think I’m getting Hiei too far out of character? Just wondering.

Scene 18 ------------- Yet Another Hour Later


* Hiei stands and moves to look out the large window again. His sharp eyes catch the movements of a pair of guards patrolling the top of the wall beyond the courtyard. He tilts his head as he opens his jagan behind the bandana. He discovers that they’re Wolf demons and grunts. Just before he turns to move away from the window again he catches another presence. With his jagan still open he easily locates the one who’s slipped in to hide in a dark corner of the Library. Hiei closes his third eyes and moves back to the couch.


Hiei- Are you spying on me or waiting for your opportunity to kill me?


* In the corner, Sylk scowls. She then drops her concealment technique. When she remains in the corner Hiei looks toward her.


Sylk- No third option?

Hiei- You’re still not completely settled with me.

Sylk- D---, you’re paranoid.

Hiei- You don’t think I have a reason to be?


* The Pantheress studies Hiei a moment, then moves calmly over to face him. This time his eyes don’t miss the rather provocative, fresh outfit she’s chosen for herself as they travel upward to meet her gaze.


Sylk- Perhaps you do.. I’m not some cuddly doll. A snivelling b---- that only lives to please you.

Hiei- Honestly. I can’t stand those types of.. people.

Sylk- From what I’ve.. observed,.. none of your other females are like that.


* Hiei grunts and looks away from her intense yellow eyes.


Sylk- But it’s not them you’re concerned about.. It’s that other one.


* The way Hiei looks back up at her gives her the confidence to continue.


Sylk- I know you have her hid somewhere..

Hiei- You’ve said enough, Cat.

Sylk- When Panthers.. accept a bond.. the connection goes very deep.


* Hiei sighs and just stares up at her as he sorts out her words. When he finally lifts a hand up to reach for her she hesitantly takes it and allows him to seat her down beside him.


Sylk- Did you hide her because she’s uglier than that Hyena mixed.. woman?

Hiei- You mean D’Tara?

Sylk- I didn’t care to ask her name.

Hiei- You should take care. She’s very sensitive about certain.. things.

Sylk- You’re avoiding.


* Hiei growls his frustration at her persistance.


Hiei- I never thought Staci was ugly.


* Sylk studies him a long moment then gives a purring chuckle.


Sylk- It’s because of your new energy level.. You frightened the poor little Human away.

Hiei- Sylk,..

Sylk- Does she hate you now?


* Hiei scowls back at her.


Hiei- As a matter of fact, no. I don't want to discuss this right now.. Why are you holding on to this?


* She shrugs and relaxes back against the arm of the loveseat.


Sylk- I’m a cat.. Cats are a curious species.

Hiei- You know what Humans say about curious cats?

Sylk- Hmm, why should I? But I bet you do.

Hiei- They say it kills them.


* Sylk hesitantly looks away, then stands and steps away.


Sylk- If you don’t want me here you just had to..

Hiei- You know I’d rather have you here than wandering around out there somewhere. i'm not doing that dance with you no more, Sylk.


* She turns to glare down at him again.


Sylk- You confuse the h--- out of me more than any man I’ve ever met!


* Hiei can’t help but relax back and smirk up at her.


Hiei- Just remember that I play by my own rules and you’ll fit in here as well as any of the others.


* Sylk calms herslf down as she studies him.


Sylk- All except the one that didn’t fit in anymore.

Hiei- D---, you’re stubborn! - I.. had a very good reason for keeping her hid away from all of this!


* Sylk purrs with a nod.


Sylk- Hai. She’s a Human.


* Hiei lowers his eyes then nods as he looks back up at her.


Hiei- Hn.. She was drug here a long time ago as a child.. She belonged to this pack when I killed Gamock.. That’s why I had to claim her the same as I did the others.. She spent many years being a victim the same way that you and your pack belonged to Matsua when I killed him.. Now she's sjust as stuck in the middle of this mess..


* After a couple tense, silent moments Sylk relaxes and sits back down beside him. She decides to change the subject a bit.


Sylk- So now you’re the new Big Guy in Demon World,.. so to speak..


* Hiei rolls his eyes at the pun.


Sylk- Yeah, I can see why you’d want to hide her.

Hiei- It’s not because I’m ashamed of her.. She was a helpless child when she was drug here and.. abused.

Sylk- It’s not the first time that’s happened.. Although, the Humans usually don’t last very long.. It’s because they’re too d---ed tasty.


* Hiei growls again. Sylk holds a hand up.


Sylk- Relax, Little Man.. I’d do a lot of crazy things.. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned lately, it’s that you’re not to be crossed.


* She stands again.


Sylk- I’m going to bed now.. You wear me out.

Hiei- If I weren’t concerned about.. other things.. I would really wear you out.


* Sylk hisses as she casts a glance back down at him, then leaves. Hiei smirks to himself, then leans forward to place his head in his hands. It isn’t long until he feels another one enter and lifts his head. When he sees that Lily is in her full Fox demon form it puzzles him speechless. The Kitsune sits quietly and waits until he realizes why she’s waiting.


Hiei- Lily.


When he recognizes her she makes her way up onto the couch. Hiei sits up fully and watches her move to settle against him, laying her head across his lap. The Koorime suddenly begins to feel much calmer. He relaxes and moves a hand over to begin stroking her sleek black fur. She twitches one of her ears, but closes her eyes with a sigh and slips off to sleep. Hiei sighs, leans back in the love seat, and continues stroking her as he closes his eyes.
