Scene 18 ------------ Koenma's Office
* Koenma, in his Teen form, looks up from the book he's reading when the large door swings open. He watches the three lower demons help Kurama to the large chair in front of his desk.
Suzuka- Tea?
* Kurama sniffs the air.
Kurama- I smell coffee.
Suzuka- Okay. I know how you like it, Babe.
* Suzuka hurries away.
Kurama- Is he here?
Koenma- I'm here, Kurama.. Did you rest well?
Kurama- Obviously too well. They tell me that it's almost noon.
* Koenma half glances toward the wall where various clocks of the different regions and Worlds are situated.
Koenma- Time means nothing here. Your rest is all that matters.
Kurama- I beg to differ, Sir.. Have you found Yusuke?
Koenma- Unfortunately, no. I figure that he's warded just like the rest of you which is blocking any of my tracing tactics.
Touya- So, have you learned anything about these wards?
* Koenma sighs and looks down at the book he was reading.
Kurama- Why do I not like the sound of that sigh?
Koenma- This book contains most known warding kanjis and information.. None of yours even remotely look like anything I've come across in this book, yet.
* Just then George hurries in.
George- Sir, we're getting a lead on a message being transmitted over Demon World's airwaves.
Koenma- Does it concern us?
George- It's that Breeder Matsua.
* Koenma looks up at George scowling, then motions toward his large screen monitor.
Koenma- Then what the h--- are you waiting on?!
* Suzuka returns with Kurama's coffee as George moves to the control center. The blue ogre scans the information he's getting a moment.
George- Ahh, I see.. He's sending the message in a wide broadcast in a constant loop that..
Koenma- I don't care about all that technical mumbo jumbo!
George- The next loop starts in.. just a few.. Now!
* George hits the button that will gather the signal then motions toward the monitor. Touya, Shishi, and Suzuka all turn to watch. Kurama just listens as he sips his coffee.
Matsua- If you can hear this, then you know the reason for this message. If you don't know the reason then it's none of your d--- business so get off the line!
Koenma- Is this guy for real?
Matsua- Whoever stole my property, in other words the four studs I was keeping in my facility, you must have figured out by now that their wards are not the average, easy-to-break type.. Now, I'm a reasonable man so I'm offering you a deal.. Before I come and eat your insides!!
* Matsua takes a moment to calm himself down.
Matsua- You have four, I only want one.. So if you'll return my redheaded stud back to me no questions will be asked as to the whereabouts of the other three.. If he's not back in my custody by sunset tonight the wards will be changed to death curses. So he'll be worthless to you anyway.. Trust me, you dirty thief, or thieves, they can't be broken by any of you pathetic weaklings in this region.. Sunset or you'll only have four dead demons.
* Kurama lowers his eyes and sets the cup of coffee down.
Matsua- Give me my redhead back and the other three will be released.
* Matsua chuckles as the screen fades to black. George cuts the connection then moves to another station where a paper is starting to tick out.
Shishi- D--- b------!
Touya- He knows we can't be seperated from Kurama.
Shishi- Especially not me.
Suzuka- He's gambling on the rest of the demons in that region not having a clue.
Kurama- If I release you..
All Three- No!
Kurama- D--- it! I have to go back or I'll lose you all anyway.
Shishi- Did your ears quit working?
* Koenma slams the book shut quieting them all.
Koenma- Enough! We have a couple hours to give my best ward-breakers a decent shot.. So let's stop wasting time and get down to that level.. Wait for me in the outer office. I'll join you shortly to escort you down there.
* Touya and Suzuka glance at the Prince as Shishi helps Kurama up. The redhead squirms loose from Shishi.
Kurama- I'm not a f---ing invalid!
* Suzuka hurries to open the large door just as Kurama reaches it, moving by memory. Before he gets the door completely closed behind them Suzuka catches the conversation between Koenma and George.
Koenma- You got the location of the facility?
George- Yes, sir.
Koenma- Get down there and make sure this idiot knows just who has.. his property.. Tell him I'll.. pay whatever price he asks if he'll undo all the wards.
George- Sir,..?
* Koenma leaves the desk.
Koenma- You heard me, Goerge.. We have to get Kurama and his mates out of this mess.
George- I'll go see if we can bargain with him, Sir.
* Koenma nods and leaves the office. Suzuka steps back, meeting Koenma's eyes briefly, as the godling joins them.
Koenma- Alright. Come with me.
* Kurama reaches out and takes ahold of Koenma's cape as the Prince passes him. Koenma half glances over his shoulder, noticing, but gives no protest. The other three exchange glances then follows them toward the elevator.
