Chapter 17

Yay! Another update! Oh and I just remembered. I had a few people ask me about those quizzes I’d talked about and where to find them. Just go to Quizzilla.com, click on their search engine and type in Yu Yu Hakusho. That’s assuming you want YYH quizzes. You can take all sorts of em. And sorry once again for the long wait between updates.

Chapter 17 (I think)

Yusuke had thought that getting Kuwabara back would be easy. He’d expected Hiei to take them to the auction where Kuwa would still be, kick a few asses, free a few humans and go home with Kuwabara safely in tow.

But by the time they got to the third auction house he began to worry. By the fifth he was scared and when they ran out of auction houses he was fucking panicked.

“Dammit, where the fuck could he be? How could he have been sold so quickly?” The three were starting to set up camp for the night. Kurama was kneeling down, tending to the fire while Yusuke sat on a log with his sweaty head in his hands as he seethed. Hiei had gone off to find more wood, which was usually Kuwabara’s job.

“A very wealthy demon must have bid very high for him. So high that no one else dared to bid against him.”

Yusuke sighed. “Okay so who is there that rich?”

“Yusuke just because Hiei and I are originally from this world doesn’t necessarily mean we have all the answers regarding it. In truth, there could be many powerful demons out there wealthy enough to get our friend.”

Kurama looked over at Yusuke’s face taking note of the worry etched in it and sighed.

“We aren’t going to find him over night. This is going to take a while Yusuke.”

About eight months actually. Kurama managed to get a hold of some of the records regarding recent purchases of all human slaves. They found one record of someone fitting Kuwabara’s description that had sold for a very high price. They found the demon buyer only to discover that the human had been sold again two days before.

This led to a wild goose chase lasting for nearly a month. And when they finally caught up with the human it was only to discover that it was not Kuwabara after all but simply a man with the same color hair and height.

Other similar searches and disappointments occurred. Many times the human they were currently following ended up dead. This did nothing but add to the fear and urgency of the detectives’ search. They were terrified of what they might find, if and when they ever managed to actually find Kuwabara.

Yusuke was having recurring nightmares and rarely slept or ate. Kurama and Hiei knew that Yusuke was mostly worried about the fact that Kuwabara wasn’t getting his medicine. Without it the leukemia would return and without the proper and medications he was prone to very violent seizures. His fatigue and weakness would put him in danger of his current master’s wrath and they didn’t want to guess what would happen to him then.

Currently they were following the trail of another man fitting the redhead’s description but this one had not been sold so expensively. At least not with money anyway. The boys had originally skipped over this one due to the fact that he had been part of a slave exchange.

Meaning he had not been purchased with money but with other slaves. The demon buyer had exchanged twenty of his slaves for this one man, which in demon world, was pretty rare.

The boys had been following this trail for sixteen weeks. Demon kept buying and selling him, he was never in one place for very long. Apparently he couldn’t keep up with the other slaves very well and was always passing out from exhaustion. But for some reason no one was willing to execute him. Leaving to just be sold off again.

Yusuke was full of half hopes for this one. On the one side, if it was Kuwabara than they were getting closer to getting him back and he was still alive. On the other side, if it were him than from the looks of it the leukemia had already returned and it was doubtful that Kuwabara would last much longer.

‘Probably shouldn’t think about that right now.’ He thought to himself. Presently he and Kurama were standing in front to a very large estate. They were waiting for Hiei to return, who was sneaking around looking for their man to see if it was Kuwabara, and if it was, to find the best way to get in to him.

After about twenty minutes the demon returned, flushed and breathless.

“It’s him! We found him! He’s in pretty bad shape but he’s alive.”

Yusuke cheered and punched the air. “Where is he? Let’s get him the hell outta here!”

Hiei smiled and turned. “Follow me.”
