Scene 17 -------------- An Hour Later: Gandara


* Kurama is standing on his balcony, looking toward Mukuro’s Territory, holding his sleeping daughter against his chest. He is concentrating so hard on what he’s not feeling that Shishi is able to walk up on him undetected.


Shishi- Kurama?


* The Youko starts slightly, but enough to jar baby Shiori awake. But the baby girl just gives a tiny mewling growl.


Shishi- Oh my, did we scare you, Precious? Come to Mommy.


* Kurama eases his fox-earred baby girl into Shishi’s arms.


Shishi- What’s wrong, ‘Rama?

Kurama- Something’s not right in Alaric.


* Shishi glances off toward the horizon, but knows that his near-Quest class Alpha’s senses are far more sensitive than his own.


Shishi- I thought Yomi said that he wasn’t able to even locate that ugly bug.. thingy.. fortress a little bit ago.

Kurama- Well, like I said. Something has changed. Not long after Yomi left I came out here to see if I could locate it.. At first I couldn’t.


* Kurama watches Shishi move to sit on a lounger and begin nursing Shiori.


Kurama- But then it was as if a.. barrier or something dropped.. I can feel Hiei there.

Shishi- So he’s not hiding anymore?

Kurama- No.. Yusuke is there, too.. And Koenma.. But I can’t feel..


* Kurama’s sharp ears hear Suzuka let Yomi in and welcome him properly inside. He hurries in to face the blind Lord.


Yomi- So you understand why I’m here.

Kurama- Yomi,..

Yomi- She’s gone.. That can only mean trouble..

Kurama- Not necessarily.

Yomi- I can feel the Toushin and that Reikai Prince there, too.. Either Yusuke or that Koorime has taken her out.

Kurama- Neither Hiei nor Yusuke would..

Yomi- Well, why don’t we just go find out?


*Kurama relaxes, knowing it's senseless to argue with Yomi. He looks toward his blonde mate.


Kurama- I have to go with Yomi to investigate this. Can you handle things here, Suzuka?

Suzuka- Shishi takes care of Shiori, Touya has been sleeping all the time, eating the rest.. It’ll be a challenge, but I think I can manage.


* Kurama goes over and yanks Suzuka into a rough kiss.


Kurama- Smart a--.. Yell if you start feeling overwhelmed.


* Suzuka rolls his eyes, then follows Yomi and Kurama out onto the balcony.


Yomi- We have to leave now.. Even using my transportation sphere it’ll take us several hours to reach Alaric’s current position.

Kurama- Yes.


* Yomi forms his energy into a ball around Kurama and himself. When it shoots off toward Alaric Suzuka glances down at Shishi.


Shishi- What’s going on?

Suzuka- Yomi suspects some kind of coupe has taken place on Mukuro.


* He and Shishi look off toward the horizon.


Shishi- If that little b------ has killed her..

Suzuka- They’ve thrown everything off balance.. Yusuke’s there, too. We’ve learned how impetuous that guy is.


* The two demons glance at each other again, both showing their concern for what Kurama might be heading into.


Shishi- They wouldn’t hurt ‘Rama.. Would they?

Suzuka- The real question is.. who’s side will Kurama take?


* They look back toward the disappearing sphere.
