Scene 17
Scene 17 ----------- Spirit World
* Yusuke is pacing slowly when Koenma enters the room he was placed in. He barely gives the Teen godling a half glance as he continues.
Koenma- Yusuke, what's wrong?
Yusuke- Are you gonna place me under arrest or some s---? Maybe worse..?
Koenma- What? Why would I do anything like that?
* Yusuke stops, then leans on the wall he's facing. The Toushin's anguish puzzles the empathic Royal.
Yusuke- You know why.
* Koenma sighs and rubs the back of his neck as he moves to sit on the bed, the meaning finally dawning on him.
Koenma- If you're referring to our.. near miss..
Yusuke- Near..?
* Yusuke turns to glare at Koenma.
Yusuke- Near miss?! Is that what you call attempted rape up here?!
Koenma- Yusuke, I can't hold what happened down there against you.
Yusuke- Then what the h--- am I doing locked up here in this fancy cell?
* Koenma blinks a moment, then remembers that Hiei wiped his memories from just before he was captured. Which would obviously have been just after their 'incident'. Though it's been several days since that, and Koenma had been busied with other concerns, for Yusuke it only happened yesterday.
Koenma- You were so distraught by that.. accident.. that you didn't realize that you were being surrounded by a group of nasty demons.. I was monitoring you.. just to be sure you were all safe.. I had to get you out of there.
* Yusuke studies Koenma. He can't put his finger on why that whole explanation sounded so.. concocted. Then he shakes his head and moves back across the moderate-sized room to look out the large plate-glass window.
Yusuke- I would have deserved to be captured and tortured in the worst way..
* Koenma lowers his eyes and looks away.
Koenma(Quietly)- Hmm.. So that's why you were taken so easily.
* Yusuke half-looks back toward the Teen.
Yusuke- What?
* Koenma stands waving a hand dismissively.
Koenma- Nothing. Never mind.. You're safe now and away from the influence of that terrible place.
* Koenma heads toward the door.
Koenma- Take a couple days to rest.
Yusuke- Like h---.. You're going to put me back down in that terrible place.. That just happens to be my home, by the way.. You probably left Kurama down there with those weenie mates of his to fight those nasties.. Besides that, we still have to find Hiei..
Koenma- Kurama and his mates are in another suite resting, also.
* Yusuke turns fully to look toward Koenma. Before he can reach the door Yusuke flashes over to head him off. He grasps the front of the Teen's tunic.
Yusuke- You better stop being so vague.. I hate vague.. What the h---'s going on?!
* Koenma relaxes and sighs again.
Koenma- While you were being rescued.. a second group attacked them..
Yusuke- What?!
* Yusuke shoves Koenma back and turns to leave himself, but Koenma grabs his arm.
Koenma- Yusuke, calm down. They'll be fine.. Kurama was wounded, but he fought valiantly..
* Yusuke glares back at Koenma.
Yusuke- How wounded?! Did he get beaten?! Take me to him, Junior!
* Koenma patiently guides Yusuke away from the door to the middle of the room.
Koenma- Tomorrow. I told you, they're resting right now.. You need to settle yourself before you get anywhere near Kurama.. He was worried very much for you.
Yusuke- Fine. But what about Hiei?
Koenma- I located him.. But he told me, in no uncertain terms, that he wishes only to be left alone and.. blurred away.. I no longer have him under parole.. He's free to do whatever he wants.. As long as he leaves Human World alone.
Yusuke- That's gonna break Yukina's heart.
Koenma- Well I'm sorry I can't fix everything!
* Yusuke flinches back away when Koenma's patience finally snaps. The Prince takes the opportunity to storm out of the room, locks the door from the outside with a special spell, then 'whews' and heads for the elevator that'll take him back up to his more peaceful office. Yusuke scowls when he feels the small burst of energy.
Yusuke- Oh no you didn't!
* He grabs the knob to give it a yank and gets a jolting shock that leaves him shaking his hand.
Yusuke- You did! You d--- freaky b------!!
* Yusuke considers blasting the door a moment, then shakes his head. He moves back to the large canopied bed and collapses on it. He still can't shake the feeling that he's lost.. something.
