Chapter 16
Yeah, Yeah. I know, I know. LOOONG gap. But you will be pleased to know that I’ve already got the next chapter halfway done. Eh? Eh?
Hiei- oh brother
Chapter 16
“KOENMA!!”
A little toddler sitting behind a big office desk covered in papers looked up. “Uh oh.”
SLAM!!
“Where the fuck is he?!”
Koenma stuttered at the sight of Yusuke’s blazing eyes on him, veins popping out of his head and neck. And the boy knew from past experiences with his father that vein popping was a very bad sign.
“Wwwho?”
“KUWABARA! That shitty barrier of yours let in a couple demons again and they made off with him!”
Koenma looked at Kurama and Hiei in confusion, silently asking ‘what is he talking about?’
Kurama answered “We were attacked by two Arakkins at Genkai’s today. WE killed them but unfortunately it seems that another managed to escape with Kuwabara.”
Koenma blinked. “Oh.” ‘That’s why Yusuke’s so mad.’
‘Mad’ was an understatement. He was shaking with rage, hands balled into tight fists at his sides.
“Now tell me Koenma, why would they want only Kuwabara and where would they take him?”
Koenma sat back into his chair. “Hmm. Well it’s highly unlikely that they would want *only* him-“
“Then why weren’t any of the girls taken? Kuwabara’s not the only human you know.”
“I know that. But he is the only one of any real value to the demons.”
“What do you mean?”
“Oh come on Yusuke! Think about it for a minute. A human with that powerful a spirit awareness, who has aided in the defeat of countless demons, many of which were thought to be undefeatable, was in the winning team of the Dark Tournament and has the power to cut open the Kekai Barrier between the two worlds. Do you have any idea how much demons will be willing to pay to have a human like that as their personal slave?”
The three boys gaped at the lord. Apparently that thought had never occurred to them.
Yusuke swallowed. “Wh-what kind of slave?”
Koenma shook his head. “Hard to tell. He could be used for labor, breeding or pleasure.”
“No!!” Yusuke slammed his fist on the desk. “No one is gonna use him as some pleasure slave!”
“Koenma, where are they most likely to take him?” Kurama calmly asked.
“There are a number of places. Most likely he’s already been placed on auction. Hell, he may have already been bought.”
“Don’t say it like that!” Yusuke yelled.
“How would you prefer I say it?”
“I don’t know! Just not in a way that makes Kuwa sound like a piece of meat!”
Hiei scoffed. “But that’s exactly what he is to the demons. A piece of meat to be bought, used, owned and sold. Very few human slaves are ever given any kind of respect. Most are put up for sale as soon as they no longer need their mothers to nurse them. And are expected to work as soon as they can walk.”
Yusuke and Kurama turned to stare at him. “You talk as if you’ve had experience with human slavery.”
Hiei shrugged. “I’ve had a few.”
Yusuke growled. “Fine, than you can tell us where the auctions are and who’s likely to bid on him. If he hasn’t been sold already.”
“Unlikely. A human with his reputation isn’t going to be sold easily. They’ll be bidding on him for a while.”
“Fine. Let’s go!”
I got onto Quizilla yesterday and took a bunch of YYH quizzes. Let’s see, Yusuke finds me cool, Hiei would find me as the perfect girlfriend and my typical pairing is KuwaxYusuke. (actually I prefer YusukexKuwa but oh well.)
