Scene 16 ---------------- Hiei’s Suite


* The Koorime enters and stops when he finds his subordinates have beat him there and are standing alertly in the middle of the livingroom.


Hiei- Guys.

Habataro- Something has changed..

Kumataro- Like some.. barrier has just..

Hiei- I asked Koenma to drop his shielding barrier that he placed over the fortress.


* The four demons slowly relax.


Dagon- Then you’ve accepted?

Hiei- Hn. Now all of Demon World will know that Mukuro has passed.. Yomi will probably be showing up here tomorrow.

Coutaro- Then what, Master?


* Hiei starts toward his bedroom.


Hiei- How the h--- should I know? I’m only taking these developments as they come.. Every d--- thing is out of my control anyway.. I don’t want to be disturbed for the rest of the day. Find some way to entertain yourselves.. I doubt it’ll be too hard for you four horny guys.


* Dagon looks toward the brothers and they all shrug. Hiei goes on into the bedroom. He pauses when he finds Sylk standing at the foot of the bed, very alert as her tail sways behind her showing her obvious agitation. Staci is curled up on the bed. Her nervous fear very obvious to him. But in a moment he deduces the reason for their actions. The jaganshi is pleased that Sylk had taken up her protective stance with his weaker mate.


Sylk- What the h---‘s going on?!


* Hiei smirks and moves closer to face her.


Hiei- Relax. Nothing to be alarmed about.. But thanks for protecting her.


* He feels Sylk twinge when he reaches up to pull her down to his level. After a couple tense moments the Pantheress growls, but slowly sinks to her knees and allows him to dominate her with a deep, hungry kiss. Sylk moves her hands up under his cloak to work his belts loose. He feels his pants cascade gently to the floor. Sylk growls again when he pulls back too soon for her liking.


Sylk- I hate Humans.. But she is carrying your.. brat.


* Staci tries to quell her whimper as she hides her face in the pillow.


Hiei- Koenma just dropped the barrier I asked him to put up.. It kept Yomi and everyone else from knowing about Mukuro’s passing until I was ready to fully accept this position.


* Hiei releases Sylk, steps out of his pants, and moves up beside the bed.


Sylk- So that’s it for the ceremony?


* She gets back up to her feet.


Hiei- I don’t need all that pompous s---.. I’ve already accepted this position when I took Mukuro’s orb in.. I just had to get that through my thick head.. When Yomi gets here sometime tomorrow I have no idea how he’ll react.


* Hiei looks down at Staci again.


Hiei- Whitey.


* Staci cautiously rolls to look up at him.


Hiei- We’re going to spend the rest of today here together. Then you’re going back to the shrine where you’ll be safe.


* Sylk watches the reactions of both. Hiei just stands stoicly watching Staci. The blonde rolls to look away from him. When Staci closes her eyes and answers quietly a flicker of regret passes over Hiei’s face.


Staci(Quietly)- As you w-wish,.. Master.


* Hiei sighs quietly, half glances toward Sylk again, then slips out of his cloak. He slides into the bed, beneath the covers, behind Staci. When he lays a hand on her side Staci reluctantly rolls to lay on her back, presenting herself to her Alpha obediently. Hiei raises up onto an elbow and guides her to look at him with his free hand.

Hiei- Staci, I have no idea what’s going to happen tomorrow.. But if Yomi challenges me, I don’t want you here.. I don’t want him to know anything about you.. or our baby.. I know you don’t understand and you think I’m.. ashamed of you..

Staci- I’m a..


* Hiei growls quieting her.


Hiei- You’re my mate! As much as she is.


* He jerks his head toward Sylk who’s still observing.


Hiei- As much as all the others are.

Sylk- As demons we understand what’ll happen to us if you fall, Hiei.. But it won’t affect her or the halfbreed child.

Hiei- Her safety is still my only concern. It may not affect her if I fall, but she’s still carrying my offspring.. That is all that Yomi would see.


* Hiei closes his eyes and lowers his face to hide it on Staci’s blanketed breasts. When Sylk’s words reach her understanding Staci swallows, meets the Pantheress’ eyes a moment, then raises her arms to embrace Hiei.


Staci- If.. this will be their fate.. it should be mine, also.


* Sylk quirks an eyebrow. Hiei lifts his head to look down at her again.


Hiei- No, Staci.. You never belonged here.. You have no right to..

Staci- I belong to you. My place is here. With you.. Please, Hiei,.. please..


* He lowers his mouth to capture hers, then trails his hand down to lay on her well-rounded middle under the blanket. He feels the single life enclosed there pulse against his palm in recognition. Even Sylk feels the connection between her Alpha and his unborn child. She quietly slips out to give them their respected privacy. When Hiei feels the Pantheress leave he pulls back to look down at Staci again.


Hiei- I have no plans to die tomorrow.. But I do have plans to watch all of my children grow up.

Staci- How will mine even know you if it never..?

Hiei- I’ll do my best to be there at its birth.. My son will know me.


* Staci absorbs his revelation a moment, then quells her brief excitement. She closes her eyes.


Staci- I just.. I love..

Hiei- Shh.. I know.


* He lowers his mouth to capture hers again. When he meets no resistance he allows his instincts to take gentle dominance, sure that they’ll help him to control his desires. His energy begins to ebb into her, feeding to the life inside her. He remains aware of her condition as his free hand works back up her body to begin working her button-fronted dress open. The Koorime pulls back again to remove the blanket completely so he can let his eyes travel downward and back up slowly, taking in the view of her young, pregnant body. Staci blushes.


Staci- I’m fat and ugly.


* Hiei smirks down at her.


Hiei- NO. You’re beautiful and pregnant, Whitey.. I gave you the choice to be free of the heartless b------ that I am.. You should’ve..


* Staci raises a finger to his lips quieting him and sighing deeply.


Staci- Yes, you did. But I’m still here.. I’ll be here for as long as you still want me.. Even if it means that I’ll have to endure your insufferable heartlessness.


* Hiei stares down at her for a couple moments, shielding himself from their bond now. This puzzles Staci.


Hiei- Hn.. Then you’re lucky that you’ll still only live a Human’s lifespan.


* Staci closes her eyes again. Hiei lowers his mouth to trail down her throat toward her breasts. When he finds one of her nipples she gasps and arches slightly to show her willingness to accept his suckling. The Koorime oblidges, helping himself to both breasts as he rocks himself gently against her hip to relieve his own pressure. When he finally pulls back he finds her asleep. After staring at her peaceful face a long moment he begins to reach one of his hands up to push his warding bandana up away from the opened jagan.
