Scene 14 -------------- Two Hours Later
* When Kuwabara enters the kitchen Yukina is humming merrily as she prepares their dinner. When she turns to look at him and sees the worried expression on his face she lowers her eyes to what he’s carrying. The small basket of beans. She looks back up at him.
Yukina- Kazuma?
Kuwabara- I can’t find her.. I can’t even sense her anywhere around.
* Yukina hurries over.
Yukina- She was in the garden before we..
Kuwabara- I found this basket on the porch.. Do you think maybe the Shrimp came back for her?
Yukina- Did you sense him?
Kuwabara- No, Babe. I felt nothing but you.
* Yukina blushes. Kuwabara reaches out to pull her into an embrace.
Kuwabara- Aww, you know what I mean.
Yukina- I would hope that Hiei would’ve let us know somehow.
Kuwabara- I’m going to go contact Koenma. Maybe he’ll know.. With that third eye of his, Hiei would’ve known what we were doing.
* Yukina can’t help but grin up at him.
Yukina- Any demon within miles could have felt what we were doing, ‘Zuma.
* Kuwabara shakes his head.
Kuwabara- I think you’ve been hanging around my sister too much.
* Kuwabara lets Yukina take the basket of beans then goes back into his bedroom to dig out the old compact communicator. As soon as he opens it the static on the small screen changes to the Toddler Prince’s face.
Koenma- Kuwabara, what’s wrong now?
Kuwabara- Well, I’m hoping nothing, but.. Would you happen to know if Hiei was coming back for Staci?
Koenma- Why would you ask such a stupid question? Oh, that’s right. You’re just a Human.. You have no idea what an uproar Demon World is in right now.
Kuwabara- I really could care less as long as it keeps its nose out of mine. But..
Koenma- I’ve got Yomi badgering me.. Enki has even been calling me every day.. I wish they’d both just lose my number already!
Kuwabara- Sir,..
Koenma- It’s not possible that Hiei would have time to come after Staci right now.. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me if he decided to just leave her there.. You are protecting her well enoough, aren’t you?
* Kuwabara sighs.
Kuwabara- I would like to say that I am.. I mean, I was.

Kuwabara- Yukina and I were.. busy.. Staci was out in the garden.. When we finished.. Well, she’s.. gone, sir.
* Koenma just blinks at him dumbfoundedly a moment, then the connection cuts to static. Kuwabara growls. Before he can try to re-connect a portal opens and the Teen version of the Prince hurries out to grasp Kuwabara’s tank shirt.
Koenma- What.. the h--- do you mean.. she’s gone?!!
Kuwabara- The basket of beans she was picking was on the porch.. But she’s nowhere around..
Koenma- No.. No, no, no..! This can’t be.. happening!
* Koenma turns to pace away rubbing his temples.
Koenma- Do you have any idea what Hiei’s going to do when he finds this out?!
Kuwabara- I didn’t feel any demons..
* Koenma spins to glare at him.
Koenma- Haven’t you ever heard that strong demons can mask their energy?
* Now Kuwabara rubs his chin.
Kuwabara- The only ones who knew she was here were Yukina and I.. You.. And Hiei, of course.. Oh, and Yusuke.
Koenma- Yusuke? That’s right.. He knows about her now.
Kuwabara- He came here about a week ago. He said he found out about her from you.
* Koenma whines.
Kuwabara- He wouldn’t hurt her, though.
Koenma- No.. But I shudder to think what Hiei will do when he finds out about this.
Kuwabara- Glad you’ll be the one to tell him.
* Koenma glares back up at the husky redhead.
Koenma- And just who do you think he’ll blame?!
* The Teen whines again and dashes back into his portal. Kuwabara eeps.
Kuwabara- D---! I am so dead..! Yukina!
* He dashes out of his bedroom to find Yukina.
