Scene 14
Scene 14 ----------- A Couple Hours Later
* Hiei shields himself as he comes to a quiet landing on a branch near the edge of the main encampment. On the ledge, Troiyoku had noticed the black blur and immediately recognized it. The boy relaxes and stays in his place. His sharp eyes watch Hiei observe the area until their eyes meet. Even across the distance of the clearing Hiei notices that Troi has spotted him. The Koorime sighs inwardly and leaps easily to the ground. When Sarista and the others notice him he instinctually flares his aura. Sarista watches him walk over to the ledge then leap up onto it. Hiei moves to kneel beside Troiyoku having sensed that he's not feeling very well.
Hiei- What's wrong with you?
* He leans and begins snuffling at the younger male. Like a starving man embracing a loaf of bread, Troi's arms shoot up to draw Hiei closer. Again, the apparition's instincts react and he begins to feed his energy into Troiyoku. Hiei's eyes suddenly widen when he realizes what he's been neglecting to do these past couple days. He settles down to sit indian-style, closes his eyes, and lifts his arms to return the embrace. When Hiei soon feels the boy's strength returning to him he lowers his mouth to nuzzle one of Troi's ears.
Hiei (Quietly)- Your Mother was right again.
* A smirk touches the Fire hybrid's lips.
Troiyoku (Quietly)- She usually is.
Hiei (Quietly)- Hn.. I do have a lot to learn.. All of you need some of my energy around you every day.
* He makes Troiyoku look up at him.
Hiei- Correct?
Troiyoku- I-I don't know.. I was fine until I woke up sick and weak.. this morning..
Hiei- Then why are you on duty up here?
Troiyoku- It was.. my turn.
Hiei- You should have sent for me.
* Troiyoku lowers his eyes and Hiei shuts up. Something whispers to him that 'No, he couldn't have approached you'. Hiei's anger completely dissipates as he concentrates on what he feels his instincts teaching him.
Hiei- No, you couldn't.. It was your Mother's place to..
Troiyoku- When you are.. angry it is only.. her place to..
Hiei- I'll deal with your Mother.. You rest now.
* Troiyoku looks toward Sarista. Hiei glances toward her but continues to hold the boy until he finally slips off into hibernation. Hiei situates him down into a comfortable position then hops back down to the ground. He cautiously approaches the others until Sarista looks up at him again. Hiei stops, feels their various emotions flood through his bond with them. They range from apprehension to fear to relief. Hiei swallows thickly, not used to having such moods rage through himself.
Hiei- Am I.. welcome?
* Sarista sits herself up and Hiei recognizes the same weakness in her. As soon as she holds a hand out Hiei blurs to her.
Hiei- My actions.. were foolish.. But you should've come for me, Woman!
Sarista- I.. meant to give you.. time.. to regain your.. balance..
Hiei- I am plenty balanced.
* Sarista gives a weak chuckle.
Sarista- I've never.. had an.. Alpha.. like you before.
* Hiei settles down and embraces her the same as he had Troi. Almost immediately he feels her absorbing his energy. He closes his eyes and relaxes to allow her to take as much as she wants. But soon he feels her push herself up away from him.
Sarista- Don't exhaust yourself..
Hiei- Don't worry about me.. So, is this something that I will need to do with all of you every day from now on?
* Sarista scowls up at him.
Sarista- No.. Feeding our babies will only be needed for a few more weeks.
* Hiei looks away to study the others and notices one of his females is missing.
Hiei- Where's the Fox?
* When Sarista doesn't answer he looks back down at her.
Hiei- Tell me!
Sarista- She was gone.. this morning.. when we woke up.
Celestia- None of us knows why.. She's become very good at shieding herself from us.
* Feeling that Sarista is a little stronger Hiei stands up away from her.
Hiei- I'll find her then we'll return.
* Staci, the only strong one amongst them, looks up at Hiei from where she's placing a wet cloth on Trinka's forehead.
Staci- She might be in her garden.. The one down by the West Wall cave.
* Hiei nods then flits off.
