Hiei's Harem - PT. 17 - Breaking

Scene 12 --------------- The Main Kitchen


* Hiei enters with his hands in his cloak pockets because he senses that this is where his three friends are. When he sees the size of this room, that’s more like a banquet hall, he stops to gaze around.


Yusuke- Yo, Hiei! Over here, man!


* The Koorime rolls his eyes and makes his way across the room to the large central table where Yusuke, Kurama, and Koenma are seated.


Koenma- This is quite an impressive place, Hiei.

Hiei- Hn. It’s too big.

Yusuke- Yeah. Who’d ya have to kill to get it?


* Hiei turns his cold, red eyes to Yusuke.


Hiei- Some large lizard named Ooshama. I think he was like nine feet tall and twice as wide.


* Kurama clears his throat, sensing the renewed tension between his two friends.


Kurama- I’m sure your new staff can make furniture adjustments to accommodate your stature.


* Hiei’s temple throbs a moment, then he surprises them all when he lowers his eyes and chuckles.


Hiei- I planned on getting them started on that tomorrow.


* Yusuke looks at his redheaded friend.


Yusuke- Why is it so creepy and unsettling when he laughs?

Kurama- Because he’s usually plotting someone’s death when he does it.


* The redhead turns a warning gaze on his Toushin friend. Now Koenma clears his throat and changes the topic somewhat.


Koenma- Well, Hiei. This is certainly more befitting of your new station than that crawlly bug Allaric.


* Hiei turns his gaze from Yusuke and Kurama toward Koenma.


Hiei- Alaric will still be used to patrol my new Territory. Kirin is quite fond of the beast and it’ll be something to keep him busy.


* Yusuke looks back at Hiei.


Yusuke- Ya know, Hiei, you and I have always had a lot..


* A movement catches his eye. When he doesn’t finish his sentence just yet they all look up and notice Dagon standing in the doorway.


Yusuke- In common.

Hiei- Such as? Dagon.


* Yusuke jerks his attention back to Hiei. Since he’s been recognized the Crow moves in and sits down on Hiei’s left side.


Yusuke- No! I mean, I have pleasant memories.. somewhat.. If you can consider that I was still in heat when he.. uhh..


* Hiei looks back across the table at Yusuke blankly. Dagon avoids looking at Yusuke.


Yusuke- I meant to say that it’s because neither of us are big on politics and protocol and s--- like that.

Hiei- Hn. Well, as long as myself and my pack are left alone, the rest of Demon World can go to h---.


* Koenma chuckles nervously and waves a hand as if he can chase away the heavy atmosphere around the table.


Koenma- That sounds like a very good policy to me.. You can throw Spirit World in on that, too. Right?


* Hiei rolls his eyes away from the Prince to look at Dagon.


Hiei- Why are you here and not resting?

Dagon- I’m good as new, Master.. How’d it go with the Horse demoness?

Hiei- We can discuss it.. later, Crow.. So you’re good as new, huh?

Dagon- Indeed, your newfound strength is truly miraculous.

Hiei- We’ll see if your opinion on that wavers later.


* He smirks at his subordinate in a manner that makes Dagon place a hand in his lap rather quickly. Luckily the kitchen staff begins to bring the food out just then to distract everyone. Hiei scowls as he watches the food just keep on coming and finally holds up a hand.


Hiei- Enough! Does it look like there’s a god d---ed army here?! Who the h---‘s going to eat all of this?!

Head Waiter- Why, aren’t all of your mates going to be joining you, sir?

Hiei- They all cook and have their own suites. Why would they..?


* Hiei quiets when he notices the Lynx brothers enter followed by several of his mates.


Habataro- Sorry we’re late. Those stairs are so big. Do you mind if we join you, sir?

Hiei- Hn. Please do. The staff has made plenty.


* Hiei turns his full attention to Sarista when she sits down on his right side. She allows him to pull her closer for a greeting kiss. He then tilts his head toward the three on the other side of the table.


Hiei- You all remember those guys.

Yusuke- I don’t think I caught this one’s name.

Kurama- Your mind was a bit preoccupied at the time, Yusuke.

Hiei- This is Sarista. She’s my Alpha female.

Yusuke- Oh. I thought it was that other..

Hiei- Be careful, Yusuke. If you think Sylk has an attitude, ‘Ris is a full blooded Fire demoness. I trained her myself so you don’t want to mess with her unless you want your a—burned.

Yusuke- Uhh, right. I’ll try to remember that.


* Kumataro looks between the two, sensing the tension easily.


Kumataro- Wow, look at all this good food. Man, we better start eating.


* Hiei grunts his consent. From then on the meal is eaten busily. Hiei just picks at his own food quietly as he watches the others at the table interact as if they’ve all known each other for years. He even tries to mask his slight displeasure when Kurama hands Lily one of the bowls of food smiling in his usual polite manner. When he’s full and had enough of the ‘atmosphere’, Hiei stands and leaves unconcerned about giving himself a proper dismissal. Habataro watches him leave, glances around, then excuses himself. He finds Hiei out in the hall where he’d paused to contemplate whether leaving his mates in there with those three was a good idea. He realizes that it’s because, deep down, he truly does trust them. When Habataro comes ambling over casually he glances at him.


Habataro- In most cases, it would be considered rude to leave such dignitaries at the table.


* Hiei grunts and continues walking. The elder Lynx falls into pace beside him.


Hiei- Like Yusuke said, I’m not a prim and proper guy.. I know I can trust those three. I was done eating so I saw no reason to just hang around.

Habataro- Yeah. You’re not much on friendly crowds, either.


* Hiei half glances at Hab, but lets the jab slide. They continue on until they come to a pair of large glass doors. Hiei stands a moment staring out through them at the large patio and the yard that spreads out beyond it.


Habataro- This place is.. spacious.

Hiei- Hn.. Almost too.. big.


* Hiei opens one of the ornate glass doors and slips through. Habataro hesitantly follows to stand behind Hiei who is now at the thick, short stone wall that surrounds much of the patio area.


Habataro- It’ll probably just take a short while for you to get everything.. adjusted.


* Again Hiei half looks up at Hab over a shoulder.


Hiei- You heard that?


* Habataro grins and taps his temple.


Habataro- The bond was open.


* The apparition grunts and looks away again.


Hiei- I was just humoring the Fox.


* Knowing that he won’t be shunned, Hab moves closer and embraces his Alpha from behind.


Habataro- Of course.. But it won’t hurt to have some areas of this place.. customized. You have every right to make such a request.

Hiei- Hn. And a bunch of eager bats that’d do it.


* Slowly the Koorime relaxes in the Lynx’s arms.


Hiei- Don’t you need to be getting back to your village?

Habataro- My brothers and I have had discussions about this.. We’ve decided to pack the village up and settle it close to the outer wall on the East side. That area is prime land.

Hiei- You know you’re welcome to do that.. But I’d think you’d have had your fill of being around me by now.


* Habataro chuckles.


Habataro- You said we’d only have to ask and you’d release us.

Hiei- Hn.


* He turns in the Lynx’s loose grasp to face him. But when he lifts a hand toward his claiming mark Habataro grasps the wrist.


Habataro- We’re not asking.


* Hiei just stares at him a long moment, then relaxes the hand to touch his humanized bare chest between the flaps of his leather vest.


Hiei- So you enjoy being punished, as well.


* The Lynx tilts his head with a comically thoughtful expression.


Habataro- Hmm. Well, I never really tried the rough stuff that others say can be pleasurable, but if you..

Hiei- Shut up, Cat.


* Hiei reaches up and pulls Habataro’s mouth down to his own. But something niggles at his bond so he just relaxes against Habataro’s chest to concentrate on it. The Lynx senses his distraction, but remains quiet and just continues holding him.
