Scene 12 --------- Back Out In The Common Room
* After assuring Chevaux and Loreen that Garnetia will be fine Hiei sinks back into the armchair he’d previously occupied. His thoughts turn to wondering if Koenma is aware of these babies. It doesn’t really surprise him when he feels the familiar presence appear through one of his portals. He raises his head, too weary to hide his irritation much as he looks up at the Teen Prince.
Hiei- So you do know.
Koenma- It puzzled me when Matsua gave Kurama up so easily.. and sold Yusuke away so readily. But I got too busy with other matters to pursue any serious research.. Then when you sent Matsua up I had a chance to speak with him.. He had the same intentions in mind that you’re currently pursuing.
Hiei- Is it so terrible? Are you worried that Human World might be next? Then yours.. again?
* The godling doesn’t respond. Hiei leans back in the chair with a catty smirk playing on his lips as Koenma’s nervousness suddenly makes a whole lot more sense to him.
Hiei- It scares the holy s--- out of you.. doesn’t it, Junior?
Koenma- Actually, I-I trust you more than you realize, Hiei.
* Hiei scowls.
Hiei- It seems that my destiny is out of my control.. I attempted to discontinue the course many times.
Koenma- And now you’re too far into this.
Hiei- Hn. I have to see it through.. I have to face Ooshama.
* Koenma takes a folder out of his tunic’s chest pocket.
Koenma- This is a copy of his file..
* Hiei looks away.
Hiei- I told you before.. I won’t be held in debt to you..
Koenma- I’ll just lay it down here.
* He lays it on the coffeetable.
Koenma- No strings attached.. Just consider that.. George.. misplaced it.
Hiei- Leave! Now!
Koenma- Hiei, if you succeed I want to be able to keep our relationship peaceful..
* Hiei growls. The two females on the couch can feel their Alpha’s annoyance growing. It makes Chevaux more nervous and Loreen more agitated.
Hiei- Our relationship?!
* He looks back up at Koenma.
Koenma- I consider you a friend, Hiei.. You’ve more than earned my respect since I’ve come to know you.
Hiei- Go back to your own world and relax.. I have no intention of ever returning to Human World.. or yours.
* Koenma turns when he hears a menacing growl. Hiei barely glances toward the standing Leopardess.
Hiei- Loreen, stay.
* Hiei stands to further assert his dominance over her as much as he cares to. Loreen snarls but freezes in her attack-ready position.
Hiei- If you plan on living you’d best go now.. Loreen is highly unpredictable in her current condition.
Koenma- Promise me that we can discuss this at a better time.
* Loreen half glances toward Hiei then begins to stalk around the stranger.
Hiei- You’re wasting the time you have left.
Koenma- Don’t you have her under..?
Hiei- Finish that thought and she’ll be the last of your worries!
* Koenma sighs.
Koenma- Fine. I’ll go. But we’ll need to discuss these babies at some point, also.
* When Hiei doesn’t respond Koenma pauses at the portal to look back at him.
Koenma- Yukina misses you.. She’s considering coming herself to look for you.
Hiei- I suggest you dissuade her from doing that.
Koenma- She can be as stubborn as you.
* Koenma half glances toward the snarling, pacing demoness again.
Hiei- If she didn’t like me before, she’ll hate me now.. Go, now!
* Unable to stand the stranger’s presence any longer Loreen pounces. Koenma leaps back into his portal and just barely evades her. The Leopardess turns to growl toward Hiei.
Hiei- Don’t make me hurt you.
* Loreen’s tail lashes, but she leaps back to the couch when Hiei raises his hand toward the folder on the coffeetable and bursts it into flames. With a final glance toward Chevaux he turns and leaves unworried that the flames will only destroy the folder. The Horse demoness snorts, but stays put on the couch and watches the small fire slowly disappear.
