Scene 12 -------- An Hour Later
* In another section of the underground holding area Matsua and Kuchki lead another demon into a guarded room. Both guards move aside to allow their boss and company to enter. Inside a trio of white-robed demons have just taken some devices off of Yusuke and pulled tubes out of his arms.
Matsua- Here we go, Dagon.. When I tell you I have someone I have him.
* Matsua motions the doctors to sit the drugged Toushin up so he can be inspected. The debonair, fancily-dressed demon named Dagon rubs his chin and tilts his head from side to side as he examines Yusuke.
Dagon- Well, he certainly does.. resemble that one from the Royal Tournament.. But it has been over a year ago..
Matsua- His name is Yusuke Urameshi.
* Yusuke raises his half-focused eyes to attempt to snarl at them.
Dagon- He doesn't seem as.. spirited as I recall.
Kuchki- We have him sedated and warded.
Yusuke(Slurred)- 'll ward you,.. ya-ya.. id'yuts.
* He takes a half-hearted swing that catches nothing but air. The stranger nods.
Dagon- Well, he is spunky.. I will give him that.
Matsua- You should feel honored that I thought of you when I decided to get rid of him.. Not giving me the third degree.
Dagon- I'm just puzzled as to why you would want to sell thee Mazoku.
Matsua- I have one too many alpha-types now.. You're the only other demon in this region rich enough to offer me a decent price for this stud.
* Dagon thinks as he studies Yusuke. The Toushin calms down some when they're quiet.
Dagon- It would be nice to have a new.. companion.. I haven't had one since Themopoli passed on.
Matsua- Then give me an offer..
Dagon- I don't know.. Considering who this guy is, I'll catch h--- if he's found by those Monks he rules over.
Matsua- They won't be able to touch you. I caught this guy fair and square.. You know there's no law against my business.. They'll see that he's marked and just go back home shaking their bald heads. They won't want a slut ruling them.
* Dagon watches Yusuke lay back down to curl up on the table.
Dagon- What if I decline?
Matsua- I don't need him no more.. You know what I do to stock that nobody wants.
* Dagon half glances up at Matsua. After a moment of thought he nods.
Dagon- That would be a waste, Matsua.. Okay. Let's negotiate, then.
Matsua- Over here.
* When Dagon and Matsua move away several feet they begin to haggle. Kuchki remains where he is, his eyes traveling over as much of the curled up Toushin as he can see. The assistant is just starting to reach out toward Yusuke's hip when the two return. Matsua jackslaps Kuchki.
Matsua- You don't touch someone else's stock without asking.. Collar him and turn him over to his new owner.. I'm going to retire to celebrate my newfound wealth.
* Matsua pats the very large sack of coins now hanging from his belt.
* Kuchki takes out a regular black leather collar and leash from a pocket. When he has it fastened around Yusuke's neck he gives it a tug.
Yusuke(Slurred)- Go t'h---.. 'm sleepy.
Kuchki- You can walk out or I'll help Dagon drag you out.
Dagon- Here, now.. I'll handle him from here.
* Yusuke manages to sit up, the drug is starting to weaken some. He squints his eyes toward Dagon.
Yusuke- You.. bought me?
Dagon- Hai. Paid a very good price, too.
* Yusuke rubs his forehead.
Yusuke(Slurred)- Wha'ever.. J-just get me the.. h--- outta.. here.
* Dagon chuckles and takes the leash from Kuchki.
Matsua- We can supply you with a vial of the drug for a little more..
Dagon- No. I'll just take him as he is.. Come along, Handsome.
* Dagon helps Yusuke steady himself when he slides off the table and nearly all the way to the floor. The Toushin gives his head a quick shake to clear it some then goes along with his new owner willingly.
Yusuke(Slurred)- Gotta.. get 'way from.. him..
* Dagon half glances at Yusuke but he falls silent. When they reach the elevator that will take them up to the surface Yusuke pulls to a stop and stares back the way they came with obvious sadness.
Dagon(Quietly)- You're leaving somebody here?
* Yusuke glances up at Dagon woozily but refuses to answer. Dagon decides not to press the issue because he won't get any clear answers as long as Yusuke is in his current condition. He just sighs and pulls his new purchase into the elevator. Kuchki looks at Matsua when the doors close.
Kuchki- I can't believe you did that.
Matsua- Someday you'll grow a brain, Kuch.. I wasn't going to waste my time with that unco-operative timebomb.. I'm sure he has those monks of his scouring all of Demon World searching for him.. I wasn't about to have him found here, legal or not it would have been suicide.. This way, when they're found with that idiot all that will happen to me is that I lose one of my main monitary rivals.. Besides, I got enough from the Mazoku to make me even more money in a few months. And we still have the Youko.. Now, let's go celebrate.
