Scene 12 ------------------------------------------- Yukina's Room
* Yukina is sitting in an armchair reading a book to Kasaba. The boy looks up toward the door a moment before Ryuji enters.
Kasaba- Uncle Ryu, I felt you coming.
* Ryuji studies the boy who's been calling him this. He moves closer when he sees the book Yukina is reading to Kasaba. A book of ancient spells.
Ryuji- You're reading.. this.. to him?
Yukina- It's not like I have a nursery library here in this room.. But Kasaba picked it out.
Kasaba- I like to be read to, Uncle Ryu.
* Ryuji shakes his head.
Ryuji- Whatever, he's just a kid.. Look, I need to explain something quickly to you, Sister.. Then we're getting out of here.
* Yukina embraces the orange-haired boy. Kasaba listens quietly as Ryuji explains everything he's learned from Kurai to Yukina. When he finishes Ryuji watches her contemplate what he's told her. She finally looks back up at Ryuji.
Yukina- So you think this.. area.. the mysterious guy wanhts to draw Hiei to is the Shikyo Valley?
Ryuji- Hn.
* Yukina almost giggles at the answer, but quells it and stands.
Yukina- So you've convinced this.. Kurai.. to get us out of here?
Ryuji- Hn.. Hiei is most probably searching the entire Demon World for you two. We can't let him be drawn into this. So we're getting you and the boy out of here..
Kasaba- My name is Kasaba, Uncle Ryu.
* Ryuji half glances down at Kasaba.
Ryuji- We're too close to the Shikyo region here..
Kasaba- Who is Hiei, Uncle Ryu?
* Now Ryuji scowls at Yukina when she does giggle.
Yukina- Kasaba is a very curious boy.
Ryuji- Did you instruct him to call me that, sister?
Yukina- No. He just knows.. things.. sometimes.
* Ryuji raises a hand to rub his forehead.
Ryuji- Just grand.. We don't have time for anymore questions.. Let's get going.
Kasaba- Can I keep this book?
* In a blur Ryuji takes the book from the boy and replaces it on it's shelf.
Ryuji- No. It's not proper reading material for a child.. especially a.. young one like you.
* Kasaba pouts as he looks up at Yukina. The ice maid gathers him up.
Yukina- Don't be sad, sweetie. I'll get you another book as soon as we get to our new place.
* Kasaba 'Fehs' as he looks away crossing his arms in a manner that makes Ryuji do a double take. Yukina giggles, hugs Kasaba closer, and follows Ryuji out of the room.
