Chapter 12
Welcome to this World
The group waited in the waiting room at the hospital. It had been 2½ years since Seth and the other kids had returned to their time. Now was one of the moments the gang had been waiting for.
“Damn, why is it taking so long?” Kuwabara groaned.
“Baka,” Hiei growled. “Shut up.”
“What? Rachel wasn’t in there this long and she was the human giving birth to a half demon,” Kuwabara said.
“What if something went wrong?” Rachel whispered fearfully.
The group looked to Hiei’s mate.
“Nothing’s wrong,” Hiei snapped. The others sighed.
Rachel’s eyes went to her one-year old son Kyo. The chibi demon looked around and growled slightly to get his father to look to him. Hiei looked to his son and took the little boy into his lap to let his mate relax. “Relax-don’t forget you’re carrying another child,” Hiei directed. Rachel looked around.
“I know, I’m fine,” she said.
Kuwabara and Yukina had been married for five months now.
“What if Rachel was right and something did go wrong?” Yukina whispered as worry fell over her eyes.
Everyone looked up as a door opened and Kurama stepped out, holding what everyone had been waiting for.
Kurama smiled as the group stood up. “Seth,” he said fondly, holding up the small fox wolf, “meet your family.”
“We’ve been waiting for you, little man,” Yusuke said as he let the baby hold his finger. Seth’s ears twitched as he stared at the group.
“What about the doctor and nurse?” Keiko asked.
“Koenma made it so they wouldn’t see his ears and tail,” Kurama said.
“Is everything fine with your mate and your child?” Hiei asked, knowing his own mate wanted to know.
“Jackie’s fine-tired, but fine, and Seth is as healthy as can be,” Kurama said. The gang smiled.
Everyone was happy to have Seth back. Seth had been bought into a world that already loved him as the young teenager who had saved everyone and everything.

Later that day, after the group had returned to their respective homes, Kurama wrapped his arms around Jackie and his newborn son. He looked to Jackie-his lighting lover, wife, and mate. He was grateful that they had met and wondered if it was because of Lyra that the two had crossed paths at all.
Kurama kissed his mate. “Thank you,” he crooned as he rested his head on hers.
“Hm? For what?” she asked. Kurama smiled as he let his son hold onto his finger.
“For loving me. Both versions of me. For becoming my wife and mate. For giving me this child,” Kurama whispers as he held his family.
“I love you, Kurama,” Jackie said.
“I love you too,” Kurama said fondly.
Kurama’s eyes went to his son. “Welcome to the world, son,” Kurama said as the tyke yawed and fall asleep.

Later that night, after Jackie had fallen asleep, Youko picked up his son. The king of thieves never thought of having a child. But now, holding his son made him happier than he could remember being. He was proud to be part of this family. Seth opened his eyes and looked up at Youko. The fox smile as his baby nuzzled into him. Seth’s little tail wrapped around his father’s arm.
“Thank you, Seth,” Youko whispered, kissing Seth’s forehead. “Thank you for everything.”
