True Feelings

(AN: Last official chapter! Thank you all so much for sticking around this long and reading my first Yu Yu Hakusho/Shounen-ai fan fiction. I’m tempted to dangle the possibility of a sequel in front of you, depending on the reviews... but to tell you the truth, I have it planned out already and most of the first chapter of that story finished. Actually I had most of this chapter done as well, months ago... ^^; I’m such a slacker. I’ll post *Cont. of Memories* in the summary so you know it is what it is. *hands out candy and pocky* Thanks again for reading this, now on to the rest of the story! .....x.x Don’t kill me for the ending...)

Chapter 12

True Feelings

The slightly weary jaganshi followed Kurama back to his home. Retrieving the bracelet from such weaklings wasn’t hard at all, it just took a long time to actually get to the place where they hid. Normally he’d fall asleep... but curiosity kept him awake. Just what did Kurama have planned? It was frustrating to know that he was ignorant when it came to something like this. Of course given Kurama’s past, he would know a lot more about it. So lost in thought was he, that he didn’t notice he was inside Kurama’s house until the kitsune turned around, laughing quietly.

“I think that’s only the second time you’ve used the door to come in, Hiei...”

“Hn.”

“Mom?” Kurama turned around and listened, trying to determine if she was home. When there was no answer, he shrugged. “I guess she’s out with her fiancé. Looks as if we have the whole house to ourselves.... Are you hungry?” Hiei nodded a little. “Good, then I’ll cook us something.” The red head slipped out of his shoes then stepped into his house slippers. He headed into the kitchen, opening cabinets to get the right pots and pans. “Make yourself at home.”

Hiei took off his shoes at the entrance, slowly walking inside Kurama’s home. He hadn’t spent any time downstairs before, there was never a reason to. It was warm and inviting, even to Hiei, so he settled down on a cushion on the floor. His travels got the best of him; soon he was asleep, arms curled under him on the table, head laying on top of them.

Once everything was settled and he had timers ready to tell him when the simple dishes he prepared were ready, Kurama walked into the living room. The sight of Hiei asleep at the table made him smile. He leaned against the wall and watched him for a bit. The first time he had ever seen him sleep, he looked as if he were ready to attack who ever came near. It was a testament to how much Hiei trusted him, to see him as relaxed as he was. A calm beauty swept over him when he slept around Kurama, as if he felt as safe as Kurama did when in close proximity to his friend.

The timer made both jump, Hiei startled awake, blearily staring up at Kurama. “Is it done?”

“Mostly, there’s still one more dish.” He gave Hiei a brief smile then ducked back into the kitchen, slightly embarrassed that he was caught staring. After a few more timers went off, he returned with several bowls and placed them on the table. “Here...” He offered a plate to Hiei then started to serve himself. They ate in silence, too busy filling the emptiness in their stomachs to talk. When Kurama was sure Hiei was done, he rose and started collecting the now empty bowls. “Guess we were more hungry than I thought.” Kurama chuckled, stacking the dishes. Hiei mimicked him, helping clean up. “Thank you Hiei...” He left the table and drifted back into the kitchen. Doing the dishes is what he should have done... but he was refreshed by the food and felt like taking advantage of the empty home. As soon as Hiei had put the dishes into the sink, Kurama wrapped his arms around his waist and nipped at his ear. “Are you tired?”

“Not at all.” Hiei smirked; his nap had provided him with enough sleep to do what ever it was that Kurama had in mind.

“Good...” The kitsune leaned down and nuzzled Hiei’s neck, kissing it softly. “Are you sure you want to do this?”

“How I can be sure if I don’t know what you’re talking about?”

“True... I guess I could just tell you...”

Hiei leaned away and pushed Kurama’s head toward his, kissing him softly. The kiss left both panting as the jaganshi broke it, lips hovering barely above Kurama’s. “Show me... I trust you.” Kurama pressed his lips against Hiei’s, kissing him passionately while his hands slid up his back, pressing his lover tightly against his body.

They stayed like that, clinging to one another until Kurama’s common sense prevailed. If his mother should come home... “Let’s go up to my room.” Kurama’s usually calm and light voice was huskier with lust. Hiei nodded and turned, nearly dragging the happy kitsune up to his room. Once there Kurama kicked the door closed and set to his task of removing Hiei’s clothes. The coat was the first to go, followed quickly by his shirt. Hiei’s hands weren’t idle either, they tugged at Kurama’s pants and pushed them down, tripping Kurama as he was about to push Hiei toward the bed. Kurama fell roughly to his knees, but managed to complete his task, the jaganshi stumbling back against the bed. They laughed, Kurama peeling his shirt off as he struggled out of his pants while Hiei sat up on the bed and watched him. Kurama relished the rare laugh from his friend, smiling contentedly up at him. With a softer and less hurried touch than before, Kurama reached out and stroked Hiei’s stomach and chest.

“Mmm..” Hiei shivered as Kurama scooted up to him, still kneeling on the floor, his body between the shorter demon’s legs. Warm kisses were laid gently along his stomach, Kurama adding a lick or nibble now and then. Hiei wrapped an arm around the red head’s shoulders, the other stroking the soft mane. He shifted closer to Kurama, rear barely on the bed.

“Lay back...” Kurama murmured softly. Hiei obliged; anticipation mixing with the soft touches, causing his breathe to come in short but fast pants. The last two items of clothing on Hiei were easily taken care of and tossed some where over Kurama’s shoulder. Placing his hands on either side of Hiei’s inner thighs, he pushed his legs further apart then pulled him closer. With one last glance up at his lover, Kurama kissed the base of Hiei’s arousal, earning him a small gasp. Then he knelt down, pushing Hiei’s legs apart then lifting them a little, and licked from his entrance to his balls.

Hiei didn’t know what to make of it. What Kurama was doing felt good, but odd as well. He decided not to question the kitsune and just went along with it. Kurama wouldn’t do anything that was unpleasant, he was sure of that. His eyes went wide as Kurama got a little bolder, giving short but quick licks to his entrance.

As Hiei writhed and grasped Kurama’s sheets, the kitsune smirked. The reaction was encouraging so he took it a little further, sliding his tongue into the tight area. There was another gasp as Hiei stilled, Kurama’s tongue worming about inside him. The tip of his tongue met with the tiny bump inside, Hiei moaning quietly each time the area was licked. Kurama closed his eyes, blindly reaching for Hiei’s length. When his fingers met with the hardened member, he began to stroke it, thumb teasing the slit on top of the head. His own arousal ached to be touched, if it wasn’t the first time for both of them, he’d hurry and reach the point where he’d be satisfied as well. He cared about Hiei’s reaction to this though, so he took it slowly. The reason why he felt so strongly about his friend still eluded him. Maybe it was the memories Hiei apparently shared as well of Kurama’s past. Or was it more than that? Was the kitsune part of him just longing to be remembered as how he was? Someone to reminisce with... or someone that knew him for what he was, then and now, and stuck by him regardless... What ever the cause, Kurama was happy. This was more than he ever expected from his friend. He removed his tongue then sucked at two of his fingers. Hiei peeked open one eye and watched him. Rising to his knees again, Kurama took hold of Hiei’s length in one hand then pushed his finger inside. Hiei let out a little cry, body arching. To distract him, Kurama sucked Hiei’s length into his mouth. It seemed to help, the tightness around Kurama’s finger lessened as Hiei relaxed, reduced to hushed moans and panting. Carefully he drew the finger out then pushed it back in, getting Hiei used to the feeling. He didn’t seem to mind, so Kurama added the second finger. This time Hiei yelped, or at least the closest thing Hiei would come to a yelp. Kurama lifted his head and stroked Hiei’s length. “Just relax Hiei... trust me...” He said soothingly as he started to wiggled his fingers.

Hiei’s head swam at the sensation, not quite sure if he was enjoying it or not. He tried to listen to Kurama’s advice and willed himself to relax, only then noticing just how tightly he was gripping the sheets. Instead of the odd feeling he concentrated on each stroke of Kurama’s hand against his hardness, more of a teasing touch than anything he could get off on.

When Kurama felt Hiei had sufficiently gotten used to him, he withdrew his fingers. He was shaking with need, Hiei’s mewls of pleasure having the same effect on him as Hiei’s hands on him would have. A distant memory rose to his mind, reminding him that he still wasn’t ready. He ran his hand through his hair, searching for a certain seed. Once found, he quickly willed it to grow, the little plant sprouting on the carpet, a single flower rising. It was bulbed, and full of a clear oil. Normally it’d capture insects by using the oil to make the inside of it’s bowl too slick to climb out of, but Kurama had a different use for it. Dipping his fingers into the bloom he rubbed it over his length, moaning despite himself. The little plant then withered and returned to a seed. Now ready, Kurama faced his lover. The small tint to Hiei’s cheeks and the way those ruby eyes watched him made Kurama sigh. Hiei unknowingly could be the most sensual thing the kitsune had ever seen. “Ready?”

“Hai..” Hiei shivered, half guessing at what was to come. Pressing the tip of his member against Hiei’s entrance, he eased into him, moaning loudly as he did. Hiei winced but curled his legs around Kurama’s waist, his way of showing approval of what Kurama was doing.

Kurama smiled down at Hiei, panting as both got used to the sensations. His eyes drifted close as Hiei reached up and stroked his cheek, an unusually loving touch from the jaganshi. Turning his head he kissed Hiei’s palm. The kitsune opened his eyes again and put his hands on either sides of Hiei’s hips. Slowly he drew his hips away from Hiei, almost leaving the tight walls around him, then plunged back in.

Since Hiei had time to adjust, the pain had long since fled to be replaced with wave after wave of pleasure each time Kurama’s hardness rubbed against his prostate. It felt better than anything they’d done previously. Kurama had set a steady pace, his moans reaching Hiei’s ears. It was gratifying to know that Kurama was enjoying it as well, that he was pleasuring the kitsune he cared for. The thrusts grew more insistent, both demons panting and moaning loudly, not considering or caring if anyone else could hear them. Kurama’s hand left Hiei’s hip and gripped his shaft, pumping it as quickly as he was moving. After that, Hiei honestly couldn’t tell if his eyes were open or shut, his world narrowing until all he was aware of was Kurama’s thrusts and hand moving against him. Then he cried out, back arching as he came, this orgasm stronger than the others he had felt before.

Kurama gasped as Hiei’s already tight walls closed around him further, pushing him quickly to release. “Hiei!” The pleasure burst through his body, hips twitching a bit as he moaned loudly. When the pleasure subsided a bit he collapsed onto Hiei’s chest, panting. Hiei lifted his shaking arms to wrap them around Kurama’s back, stroking it a little. “Mm...” Kurama tilted his head up to look at Hiei. “Did you like that?”

Hiei closed his eyes, smiling a little. “Baka kitsune... if you can’t figure that out for yourself then I’m not going to tell you.” He was suddenly exhausted and wanted nothing more than to fall asleep with Kurama.

“I’m glad you enjoyed it...” He smirked, “I believe you should try it from this side, Hiei... very fun...”

“I bet.” Hiei cracked a smile. “Mmm... tomorrow maybe? I’m too tired to do anything else tonight.”

“Me too... tomorrow it is.” Kurama sighed happily, then lifted his hips away from Hiei. Both winced as he left Hiei’s body. “I’ll be right back...” Kurama rose sleepily to his feet and headed for the bathroom. He washed his softened slick member, then grabbed a towel and returned to his room. Hiei was half asleep, head turned to one side, hands on his chest. “Here...” With caring gentleness Kurama wiped off Hiei’s stomach and his own, the jaganshi’s seed on both. Then he flipped back the covers and slipped under them. Hiei quickly joined him, smiling when the kitsune curled around him, putting his head on his chest and tossing a leg over the shorter demon’s.

“Good night...”

“Mmhmmm...” Kurama mumbled, falling asleep a few seconds after that. Hiei joined him not long after, basking in the relaxed feeling that usual came after time spent with Kurama.

Kurama chuckled as he and Kuronue landed, flashing the prize they both had attained. Then they ran off, jumping into the bamboo and hopping along the sprouts. Just as Kurama was sure they had gotten safely away, he saw Kuronue turn around and head back. “Kuronue!”

“I need it!” His partner yelled, unwilling to give up the necklace that was so precious to him, the one his kitsune gave him as a gift. He folded his wings against his back and dived. The necklace had landed on the ground below, he could see it in the dim light. Sighing, he landed next to it, snatching it off the ground. That’s when the trap sprung, piercing his calf with a sharpened bamboo pole, the others joining it soon after. He was stuck, his life’s blood pouring out in front of him through the hallowed out stalks. The look of shock on Kurama’s face saddened and relieved him; they both knew he was going to die, but to have Kurama look so sad at knowing that... it showed he cared. Kuronue finally knew what would make him rest in peace so he cried out to his kitsune. “Go, save yourself!” He knew if he didn’t do something, his kitsune would die as well. Useing the last of his draining power to call for a bright light, he blinding his would-be attackers. He was dead before they reached him, supported only by the bamboo pikes.

“Kuronue!” Kurama screamed, ignoring Kuronue’s wishes and running back toward his partner. His rage fueled his power and in the blink of an eye all their pursers were dead, the sharp leaves of the bamboo around them growing large enough to skewer each demon. It was the only time in his whole life that Kurama felt close to tears. Kuronue died before the youko could tell him... he loved him...

~oOo~

A subtle knock on the door roused Kurama from his nightmare. Dressing quickly in a pair of loose pajamas he ran to the door and stuck his head out. “Yes?”

“Shuichi, I need to talk to you. Downstairs, please.”

Kurama nodded and smiled. “Alright, I’ll meet you there in a second,” he said as he retreated back into his room. Hiei’s eyes were halfway open with sleepiness, his expression making him seem child-like. “I have to talk to my mom, then I’ll bring up some breakfast for the two of us, alright?” Hiei nodded and sat up, rubbing at one eye. The kitsune leaned over and kissed his jagan before Hiei had time to protest, then left the room. He took the stairs two at a time, hurrying to make sure he had enough time before school to play with the jaganshi. The red head stopped suddenly as his mother appeared on the stairs, a covered tray in her hands which smelt faintly like breakfast foods.

“Here.” She shoved the tray at him then kissed his cheek lovingly before she took both of his cheeks in her hands. “I love you Shu, just remember that.”

A sinking sensation filled his gut as he eyed his mother suspiciously. “Mother, what’s going on?”

Shiori sighed, removing her hands to clutch them at her heart. “I know Shuichi. A few days ago, I had just finished the laundry, and was putting the clean clothes in your room when I saw you two.” Kurama’s heart stopped. “You weren’t... doing anything, but I can tell what he is to you.” Shiori smiled, looking into her son’s eyes. “A mother can tell... But then, the way he was holding you to him, an idiot could tell what was going on.” The kitsune’s head spun as he struggled to speak, speechless for the first time in a long while. “It’s okay Shuichi. I don’t care who it’s with, I’m just glad you’re happy. Your mood has improved a lot lately, you smile more than I’ve ever seen you smile and you laugh more often. Am I right when I assume that you’re in love with him?” She smiled brightly, already knowing the answer.

Kurama blinked slowly, his heart racing. Love Hiei.... why didn’t that seem impossible? It all came together suddenly, like the final puzzle piece fitting into place. What he had been feeling was love. He fought the panic that raised at the thought of the idea of being in love, then he opened his eyes to his mother’s smiling face. Loving her hadn’t brought him any pain, it had made him stronger. As corny as Kurama thought for thinking it, love was not a weakness to him but a strength. “I... I do love him.”

“Good...” She wiggled a finger at him. “I won’t even start with you on what you two were doing this early in your lives.” As his mother turned her back on him, the kitsune smiled. Hiei was no where near as young as he looked, Kurama even more so. “Oh and Shu?”

“Yes mother?”

“Please invite him to dinner sometime. I’d love to meet him.”

The red head smiled and started to withdraw back to his room. “Oh... sure.” He could just imagine Hiei’s reaction at being asked to a dinner with his mother. Suddenly a weight felt lifted off his shoulders. He loved... Hiei was going to kill him.

~oOo~

Hiei leaned against the wall nearest to the door, fully dressed. His body felt like lead as his mind turned over what he had just heard. Kurama loved him. Or did he say that just to pacify his mother? The short demon used his jagan, carefully sliding into Kurama’s surface thoughts. Sure enough, thoughts of love were the foremost on his mind. Hiei shook his head slowly, as if trying to shake the problems away. Love for another was mainly a human failing, something that was viewed as a flaw or weakness in the Makai. Kurama... How could someone like Kurama fall in love with anyone? Especially someone like Hiei... He heard Kurama’s voice start to get closer, so he made a quick decision, one that made the most sense to him.

The fire demon grabbed his sword and wrapped the jagan in the white piece of cloth as he strode to the window. It would be safer for the kitsune if he wasn’t around. No one could love Hiei, it was better that way. That was one of the many reasons he wouldn’t tell his sister who he was. He didn’t want to see either of them hurt, so it would be better to watch from afar than cause them pain by staying close. The window lifted easily and quietly, but he paused as he began to leave. Hiei almost growled as he came to realize what his own actions implied. Foot steps snapped him out of his thoughts and sent him out the window and into the near by tree. It was a testament to how he felt for the kitsune, as much as he hated to admit it. The one and only loving act he could do for Kurama was to make sure his love for the jaganshi faded to nothing. “Have a good life Kurama...”
