Scene 11
Scene 11 ------------ Later That Day
* As the pack has travelled steadily Lily has been considering the situation. When Hiei raises a hand to stop their progress she watches him turn to face them.
Hiei- Let’s pause here for feeding time.. Dagon.
* The Crow demon hurries up to face him.
Hiei- Fly ahead to the fortress and let whoever’s there know that we’ll be there shortly.
Dagon- Will do, sir.
* Dagon unfolds his hidden wings and takes off. Hiei notices Chevaux move to settle down beside Lily and Trinka. He’s about to go over to speak with Lily when Habataro approaches him.
Habataro- Master, may I speak with you?
Hiei- Hn. Quickly.
Habataro- I’ve been wandering about my pack, my village..
Hiei- You wish to return?
Habataro- No. That’s not what I meant.
* As the two continue discussing plans concerning Habataro’s village Lily glances toward Hiei. When she’s sure that he’s sufficiently preoccupied she looks at Chevaux.
Lily- Would you like to hold the twins?
* Chevaux whinnies and accepts Kurasyl. Lily places the female down close to her, also.
Lily- Keep an eye on them for me.. I have to do something.
Chevaux- Sure.
* Lily stands, glances once more toward Hiei. Coutaro has now joined their conversation. She then glances over the rest of the pack. All the females are busy taking care of their offspring except one. Lily sets her sights on the black Pantheress and goes over to where Sylk is checking a bush for some berries.
Lily- You want them back, don’t you.
* Sylk hesitantly looks at Lily. She senses the aggression coming from the Kitsune and cautiously raises her own energy.
Sylk- Don’t start something you can’t finish, Fox.
Lily- It’s already started.. It was started last night when you used your wiles on him..
* Now Sylk faces Lily fully.
Sylk- Used my wiles..? I think you better..
* Sylk narrows her eyes when Lily still doesn’t take a fighting stance.
Sylk- What’s your game, b----?
Lily- The only way you can get them back is if you.. defeat me.
Sylk- Defeat you? You don’t want to fight me.. Why don’t you just go back to..
* Lily lashes out and smacks Sylk across the face. The Pantheress reacts defensively and the two females hit the ground growling and clawing at each other. Hiei curses and starts over until Sarista blurs to intercept him.
Sarista- Lily’s taking the decision out of your hands.
* Hiei looks up at her scowling.
Hiei- What the h--- do you..?
* They look back when they hear Lily scream. Sylk is now back up on her feet staring down at the curled vixen.
Lily- I quit!!
Sylk- What..?!
* Sylk takes a couple steps back, then growls.
Sylk- What do you mean you quit?! D--- it, I barely touched you!
* Hiei jerks loose from Sarista and continues over. He watches Lily slink back away from Sylk then looks up at her himself.
Hiei- What’s going on?!
Sylk- Ask..
* When they look back toward where Lily was she isn’t there. Hiei turns around quickly until he catches the flash of fluffy black tail disappearing over the rise of a nearby hill.
Hiei- Lily!
Sylk- Hey, she attacked me. I was just here picking some..
* Before Sylk can finish her explanation Hiei blinks away. Sarista comes over.
Sylk- Mistress, I was just minding my own business picking some berries..
Sarista- I seen the whole thing, Sylk.. Lily knew what Hiei has been trying to make a decision about since you two returned this morning.
* Sylk looks back at Sarista.
Sylk- I never told him that I desired to have them back!
Sarista- I know. My ears are as good as yours, Sylk.. Let’s just hope Hiei can catch her and calm her down.
Sylk- He’s told me that she lost her own babies.
Sarista- Yes.. I believe the last was the fourth litter she’s lost.
Sylk- Then I can understand how she would feel. Thinking that she was about to lose these ones.
* Sylk looks away toward the hill.
Sylk- I’ll tell her the same thing I told him. I gave up my rights to my babies the moment I left them in front of that cave.
* She looks toward Chevaux a moment, then meets Sarista’s eyes again.
Sylk- I decline her defeat.
* Sylk turns and moves away to a tall, sturdy tree. Sarista watches her shift into her true Panther form and disappear up into the thick branches. The Fire demoness sighs then turns to look off in the direction that Hiei took off. Kumataro comes over.
Kumataro- Should I put the barrier up again?
Sarista- You better. Lily won’t be easy for him to catch so he’ll be chasing her a while.
* Kumataro nods with a slight bow and moves away.
