Scene 11 ------------------ Back Behind The Plant Barrier


* With as much care as possible, Sarista manages to get her unconscious Alpha back out of danger. As soon as she lays him down she sets his sword aside and telepathically yells for Trinka and the others.


(#) Sarista- Hurry and get here! He's alive, but he's hurt very badly!


* Sarista quickly closes her eyes and scans his chest with her senses. When they locate the puncture wound that has pierced his left lung she places her hand on it and begins to feed her energy into it. It doesn't take long for all the others to arrive. In a near panic she feels Gamaru moving closer than he should. She raises her eyes to glare at him.


Sarista- Back off!!

Gamaru- Mother, do you want me to..?

Sarista- I said back off or I'll roast you!


* Troiyoku and Silis hurry forward and pull Gamaru back. The larger male looks at them.


Gamaru- I was just going to carry him back to the main cave..

Troiyoku- Can't you tell what's going on?

Silis- D---, how can you be so stupid sometimes?


* Gamaru jerks loose from them.


Gamaru- What the h---..?


* They all turn to watch Trinka summoned to Hiei's other side.


Sarista- Help me and heal these others cuts. I'm sealing his lung back up, it was punctured.. Lily, he was poisoned by something on that Tiger's claws, it's cutting off what little air he can get into his other lung.


* Lily hurries forward and kneels at Hiei's head. She leans to sniff at his chest. Immediately she nods.


Lily- I know this scent! I've seen it used many times.

Sarista- Is there an antidote?

Lily- Hai. I know just the plant to create for the job.


* Troiyoku looks at his dumbfounded brother.


Troiyoku- (Quietly) Gam, Mother has fallen hard for this one.


* Gamaru slowly nods and looks back at Troi and Silis.


Silis- (Quietly) If you continue your plan.. It will kill your Mother, Gam.


* Minoro glances toward the three, then turns his attention back to where Hiei is being attended to. Gamaru looks back toward the activity a moment, then turns and disappears back into the woods. Troiyoku and Silis glance at each other then sink to sit down beside Minoro to keep watch for trouble from the barrier. Sarista glances up at Klarice and Celestia.


Sarista- C-Can you.. feed me some of your energy..? The tear is almost.. sealed.. D'Tara, help Trinka, if you can.


* The two females move forward quickly and lay a hand on each of Sarista's shoulders. D'Tara moves around to kneel beside Trinka. Lily glances at her Alpha Mistress as she works on growing the plant.


Lily- Be careful, Mistress. Don't over exert yourself..

Sarista- Be quiet.. We must save him! That is all that matters.. I'm not going to accept any other..


* Lily pauses to reach over boldly and grasp Sarista's damp chin. She makes the Fire demoness look at her.


Lily- I understand.. I feel the same way, 'Rista..

Celestia- You know that we all do.

Lily- He's not going to die.. We will save him.

Klarice- Hai. Please calm down, 'Rista.


* Sarista closes her eyes, takes a deep breath, then nods and returns her concentration to the task at hand. Lily returns to tending the plant. When it is full grown she quickly plucks some of the leaves and strips off a couple of the bright red flowers.


Lily- D'Tara, can you come with me?


* D'Tara nods and Lily looks back at Sarista.


Lily- 'Tara and I are going to go boil these into the potion. We'll be back in a few minutes.

Sarista- I can feel him breathing air into this lung now.. Go and do what you have to. The poison is only affecting his right lung since this one was punctured.


* Lily and D'Tara take off. Sarista relaxes some and looks at her daughter. She leans to check her work. Nearly all of the scratch marks are now healed.


Sarista- Very good work, Trinnie. Your skills have improved greatly.


* Trinka glances a weary smile up at her Mother. For the first time Sarista raises up and takes a deep breath. Suddenly, the whole situation crashes down on her. She bows her face into her free hand and lets out a sob. Celestia and Klarice both embrace her.


Sarista- We.. almost lost him.. For some stupid reason..

Celestia- He's going to be okay, Sarista.. Even I can see that he's already breathing better.


* Sarista nods, wipes her eyes, and looks back down at Hiei. She can tell by his face that he's not in as much distress as he had been.


(#) Trinka- I can feel his own energy kicking in to help his healing, Mother.. That's a very good sign.

Sarista- But.. something was keeping him from fighting as he should have.

Celestia- We both know that something has been bothering him.. But he's too proud to let us help him..

Klarice- We can't do anything if he won't allow us to.


* Sarista sighs deeply.


Sarista- We need to hide him better while he recovers.. When he wakes up I'll talk to him.

Celestia- (Snorts) Knowing you, you'll make him wish he was fighting that Tiger again.


* The others all share a mutual chuckle. Sarista just shakes her head and works her finger out of the wound.


Sarista- No, I will respect his position.. His lung is working properly now. Heal this last open wound, Trinka.


* Sarista sits back to watch as Trinka obeys. When the wound is sealed Sarista looks toward the three lower males.


Sarista- Minoro, can you come carry him? There's a natural alcove in that tree's roots over there.


* Minoro moves forward as Sarista motions toward the tree.


Minoro- I can carry him back to the..

Celestia- No, he can't be moved that far, yet.

Sarista- He's still healing internally.


* Minoro nods. The females all watch this strange young male lift Hiei with the utmost care that he can manage. They follow as Minoro slowly moves Hiei into the small cave-like opening that's created by the tree's roots. The tree was an old tree that had been partially ripped out of the ground by some recent tremendous storm. The shelter is just large enough to fit their recovering Alpha and his Alpha Female. Sarista settles down beside him to meditate and regain her strength as they wait. Minoro backs out and returns to his place to watch for any other intruders that might make it past the plant barrier. The other females place themselves in a half circle in front of the alcove entrance. They begin their own processes of recovering their energy.
