chapter 10
Chapter Ten
“Koemna you need to tell your father the truth.” Boton pleaded.
“You don’t understand! He wouldn’t listen to me if I had told him the reason she is out of jail so early.” Yusuke looked over at Kurama who had a look he had once seen Keiko have. Yusuke and Keiko decided to get engaged soon after defeating Sensui. They married almost three months ago and she had gone to the doctor to have a regular checkup and see her ovulation schedule. She came home with a heavy heart and news that she thought would surely destroy their marriage. When she was younger while they were dating the entire amount of demon attacks on her and kidnapping had taken a toll on her body. Her ovaries had shut down and destroyed her uterus. Yusuke never skipped a beat and took her in his arms and the two just stood there until Yusuke cracked a joke. “So… does this mean I can do you with out a condom?” The two laughed and they decided that she would have her eggs frozen and they decided that it is for the best that they wait to find a surrogate mother.
Yusuke had walked over to Kurama and placed a hand on his shoulder. “Let’s go out.” Kurama looked over at his friend and the two walked out and away from the fighting going on inside. They walked to where they use to spar. “Kurama, Hiei took Elfleda for another reason then to keep her out of jail didn’t he.”
“I don’t know what you are talking about Yusuke.”
“I know you and Hiei want to mate.”
“We are waiting.”
“Why?” Upon not getting an answer he spoke again. “Look when we found out Keiko couldn’t have kids we stuck it out. We were bummed for a while. I know she still feels the pain of not being able to birth my kid but you know what. It has made us stronger. I see when you look at Elfleda and Hiei you see something. But if I know Hiei he ain’t gonna leave you.”
“That isn’t what I am worried about.”
“Then tell me what it is Kurama. You are my best friend. All you guys are. Hell if I can’t figure out what is wrong with my best friend how the hell am I gonna rule part of the Makai?”
“Elfleda has agreed to have our child.”
“Ahhh” Yusuke smiled at his friend. “So… Who is the lucky one gonna do her?” Kurama looked flabbergasted at his friend. “How long have you known me and you still get shocked at what I say.” He threw his head back in laughter and not soon after Kurama joined in. “If anything I’ll kick Pacifier Breath’s ass until he agrees to have her free.”
“It is his father we have to worry about.”
“I’m gonna be one of the Makai Lords! He might listen to me. Hopefully.”
“Thanks Yusuke.” Kurama smiled at his friend. “I just hope that Elfleda doesn’t feed my plant’s too much.”
“You mean?”
“She is hiding out in one of my hiding holes in the human world.”
“Oh.” Yusuke looked over at Kurama when suddenly they see Koemna running toward them.
“YUSUKE! KURAMA!” They turned and looked at him and saw the horror in his eyes. “A woman came into my office and she is demanding Elfleda and I can’t contact Hiei!”
“Why does she want Elfleda?” Kurama said instantly defensive of the woman who had agreed to be the mother of his and Hiei’s pups.
“She says her names is Queen Shina.”
“Shina from Elfleda’s past?” Kurama asked him. This was not good for him. If she has to go…
“The very same.”
“It has been 400 years why has she waited until now to find her?” Yusuke did not like this at all. Things didn’t add up. Why wait? Why not just get her out when she was first charged?
“I can answer that.” A young looking woman with golden hair and blue eyes walked over to the three of them. “We searched high and low for Elfleda for she was to be our queen once I pass on. My spirit and wisdom would be transferred to her. She is fated to be our queen. She refused it many a time. When she ran away we chased after her. Her spirit energy faded and we lost the trail. Then we hear rumors in the wind after four hundred years. She is alive and in the keep of the spirit detectives. I want her back.”
“What if she doesn’t wanna come back?” Yusuke stood and walked over to the woman who was eye level with him.
“And who might you be?” she looked at him down the bridge of her nose.
“Yusuke Urameshi. Leader of the spirit detectives and Ruler of one of the Maikai territory formally of my Father Raizen.”
“You are that half breed runt of his aren’t you?”
“And damn proud of it.” Yusuke puffed out his chest and fearing for the soon to be mother of his child, Kurama transformed from Shuuichi to Youko. Once the smoked cleared his yellow eye pierced her. Him being nearly 2 feet taller than her he walked up to her.
“You wish to take her away? Why?”
“Youko Kurama… Well, a thief and a half-breed. Our new Queen is keeping some lovely company.” She tried to hide her fear behind insults. “I want to see my heir!”
“Kurama, go to her and tell her what is going on. Bring her if she wants to.” Shina went to follow but Yusuke stood in front of her. “Where do you think you are going?”
“HOW DARE YOU!”
“Just cause you are some queen somewhere else doesn’t mean you have my respect here.” Yusuke looked her in the eye while she glared back at him.
“Hmp!” She crossed her arms and stormed to Koemna’s office. Yusuke looked off to where Kurama had run. He just hoped for his friend’s sake Elfleda would stay.
