Hiei's Harem - Pt. 18 - Ending

Scene 10 ------------ Demon World


* Sarista enters the private chambers as Koenma comes out of Hiei’s bedroom.


Sarista- I thought I recognized your.. energy.

Koenma- You’re his Alpha Female, correct?

Sarista- Hai. You’ve brought him home?

Koenma- Yes. Could you tell me what happened?

Sarista- Where did you find him?

Koenma- Preparing to attack Human World in order to provoke his sister’s boyfriend to strike him down.

Sarista- D---.

Koenma- Are Yusuke and Kurama still here?

Sarista- Them and every other subordinate male that knows Hiei have been tearing this Territory apart trying to find him.


* Koenma moves away some and lifts his wrist to tap on the communicator. Sarista slips into the bedroom. When she sees Hiei laying on his bed, looking more peaceful than he has in the past few weeks she moves to sit on the edge of the bed beside him. It isn’t long until he stirs awake. When he realizes that he can’t move a jolt of panic goes through him, then his memory returns. Finally his sight and other senses awake to let him know that he’s not alone. He lays his head to the side, the only thing he’s able to move. The sight of Sarista with a hand covering her eyes makles him raise his head and open his jagan. Sarista lowers the hand and watches Hiei break the reikai bands easily. He then sits up.


Sarista- Are you going to run again?


* Hiei slowly shakes his head and lowers his eyes to avoid hers. Sarista scoots closer to him and touches his warded arm.


Sarista- Hiei,.. please look at me.


* Hiei shakes his head.


Hiei- I can’t.. I’ve shamed you.. again.. All of you.

Sarista- You’re hurting and you don’t know how to let it out.. You just used that spell to..


* Hiei looks away with a growl at her perceptiveness.


Hiei- Well I’m not going to cry! That’s the worse kind of weakness a demon can show!

Sarista- For the past two nights nearly all of your mates have cried themselves to sleep.. Myself included.


* Hiei finally meets her eyes, astonishment clear in his expression.


Sarista- Then when your energy just.. disappeared we nearly went crazy with our.. continued weakness.

Hiei- ‘Ris,..


* Sarista sighs and stands from the bed.


Sarista- Perhaps because we care about you.. you consider us too weak to want to stay around.. Maybe this is what repells you from us.


* Hiei growls and stands from the bed.


Hiei- You’re talking foolishness, woman!

Sarista- River hasn’t eaten since you disappeared.. She cries because she thinks it was her fault somehow.. Poor weak little thing.. It’s a shame how much she loves you.


* When Sarista turns away as if to leave Hiei blurs to catch her from behind. His embrace stops her in her tracks.


Hiei- It’s none of you that failed.. I’m the failure! – I’m the one that couldn’t save Klarice or Gamaru.. or.. or..

Sarista- We never expected you to be a god, Hiei!


* In the livingroom Yusuke, Kurama, and Koenma were about to enter. They quickly change their minds and move away to sit on the couch and wait. Inside, Hiei turns and moves away from her again.


Hiei- I’m supposed to be the Alpha..! I’m supposed to protect all of you!

Sarista- And you have to the best of your ability.


* She turns to look at him.


Sarista- Hiei, I told you before what would happen to us if anything ever happens to you.

Hiei- No, I thought those words through.. You would do exactly what you did when Gamock was..

Sarista- D--- it! We didn’t love that monster! He was our Alpha.. but not our mate..! Not my true mate.


* The Koorime turns back around slowly to look at her again. He watches her sink to her knees.


Sarista- Gamock would have to beat me down into this position..

Hiei- ‘Ris,..

Sarista- I take it for you willingly.


* Hiei moves forward hesitantly.


Hiei- Why..? I never asked this of you.


* She looks up at him and smiles.


Sarista- Perhaps that’s why I can offer it so willingly.. Why can’t you open your true eyes and see how.. precious you are to us? You have all of our loyalty willingly. Even Sylk’s now.. You have children that adore and respect you.. Doesn’t all of this please you?

Hiei- I.. don’t.. deserve..

Sarista- If you weren’t worthy of it we wouldn’t give it.. The Lynxs would have asked to be released long ago.. Dagon would never have settled by your side.


* Hiei lowers his eyes. After a couple quiet moments he moves to sit down on the bed again.


Sarista- I don’t know what more I can say. How do I make you understand?


* Hiei smirks to himself, then looks at her again.


Hiei- Come here, woman.


* Sarista swallows but obediently moves closer, staying on her knees.


Hiei- I thought I’d dealt.. with every kind of loss one could imagine.. But when I accepted all of you I suffered the heaviest loss of my life.

Sarista- Your freedom?


* Hiei growls down at her as he snarls a handful of her similarly-shaped hair.


Hiei- I’m trying to be serious here!

Sarista- Hn. Please continue.


* The apparition watches her nostrils flare as she takes in his awakening scent of arousal deeply.


Hiei- The loss was the wall I’d built to hide my heart.. and my emotions.


* She smiles up at him.


Sarista- If that’s the best admission of your love for us I guess I’ll have to accept it.

Hiei- B----.


* He pulls her up closer so he can capture her lips. She tilts her head and opens her mouth to fully accept his deep, probing kiss.
