Scene 10
Scene 10 ---------- Hiei’s Suite
* Kirin unlocks the door to the suite and moves aside. The Koorime freezes and looks up at the General when his stomache rumbles. Kirin quickly turns his face away from staring at Staci. Hiei shoves her inside ahead of him as he growls up at Kirin.
Hiei- She is my mate.! If any harm comes to her while she’s here this bug won’t survive! Do you understand me?!
Kirin- Clearly, sir.. My apologies..
Hiei- Hn. I’m not to be disturbed until tomorrow. For no reason.
* Kirin bows.
Kirin- I’ll set a guard.
Hiei- The only ones permitted in are Lords Urameshi and Koenma.
Kirin- Hai, sir.
* Hiei watches the General leave then goes inside. He sighs when he finds Sylk staring Staci down. The blonde keeps her eyes lowered as she sits down on the couch.
Hiei- I won’t have this s--- right now, Sylk!
* He goes over to stand between them.
Hiei- Go rest or.. what the h--- ever.. I need to talk to her.
* Once again, Sylk displays her quiet obedience and moves away to explore the large suite. Hiei tilts his head a moment, then turns his full attention to Staci. When he doesn’t say anything she looks up at him. She notices his faintly glowing jagan immediately. It surprises him that she doesn’t cower away from it. Hiei closes the third eye, sure that she’s unharmed and the baby is well. He then relaxes and sits down beside her. Staci looks away.
Staci- I thought you were going to talk to me.
* Sylk glances back toward them. She watches Hiei guide Staci’s face back toward him gently. When he leans to kiss her she shies away. The Koorime scowls.
Hiei- You stare right at my jagan, but shy away from my kiss?
Staci- Your third eye doesn’t scare me.. I know it’s purpose.. Your reason for wanting to kiss me is another..
Hiei- Staci. I’m going to kiss you because you’re my mate.
Staci- Oh, am I now?
* Staci starts to stand to move away, but he yanks her back down. As soon as she grimaces Hiei releases her arm.
Hiei- Staci,..
Staci- That’s the first time you’ve purposely hurt me.
Hiei- Is your baby adling your brain?! I’ve done nothing but hurt you since I had to claim you!
* Staci glares at him.
Staci- Then release me and I won’t be such an embarrassment to you..
Hiei- Shut up!
* Sylk growls. The males, playing a game of cards at the kitchen table, exchange glances. Hiei glares up at Sylk.
Hiei- You mind your own d--- business! All of you!
* Sylk turns and goes into the kitchen.
Sylk- Any of you guys hungry?
Habataro- Yeah. That’ll keep you busy.
* Hiei shakes his head and looks back at Staci.
Hiei- Is that what you want?
Staci- It’s what you want.
Hiei- D--- it, I’m so tired of going through this s--- with you!
Staci- You’re the one that’s rejecting me, Hiei!
* She gets to her feet and turns to look down at him, fighting her tears.
Staci- Don’t you get it?! Don’t you see how much that hurts me?!
Hiei- Staci, didn’t you just see what happened out there with my General? He was eyeing you up like a d--- buffet!
Staci- Then why didn’t you just let him..?!
* Hiei stands up to glare at her. The others all look toward them again when he flares. Staci, though, doesn’t flinch.
Hiei- Finish that sentence and I will strike you!
* Now Staci backs off, then turns away. In spite of his anger, Hiei’s chest tightens when she raises her hands to cover her eyes and sobs.
Staci- I.. can’t deal with this.. right now.. I want to go back.. home.
* Hiei turns to move away and regain his composure. He jerks back around when he hears the main door yanked open. Staci is leaving as quickly as she can move.
Hiei- Staci!
* He blinks after her and skids to a stop in the hallway. Yusuke was on his way to Hiei’s suite, but now finds Staci flung around him.
Yusuke- Hey, easy, Little Momma.
* Yusuke looks toward Hiei who stands dumbfounded at the sight.
Yusuke- You shouldn’t be getting upset like this.. Hiei, what..?
Hiei- Get.. your hands.. off of my mate, Urameshi.
* Yusuke holds his hands out quickly.
Staci- Take me.. back.. to the shrine.. Please, Mr. Uramesi!
Yusuke- I can do that.. But I thought you wanted to be here..?
Staci- I don’t want to be here no more..! Because he don’t want me..!
Hiei- I can’t talk to her when she’s like this! I can’t reason with her.
Yusuke- Woah! Both of you need to calm down.
Hiei- The baby is becoming aggitated, Staci.
Staci- Go to..! Oww!
* Yusuke grabs her when she doubles over in pain. Hiei blurs over to her.
Hiei- Staci!
Staci- Ahh!!
Hiei- D--- it! I need to..
Yusuke- Stop.. yammering.. and just do it, already!
* Hiei yanks his bandana off and makes her look at him.
Hiei- Sleep! Now!
* When her head drops Hiei uses a burst of his energy to gather her up. He starts back toward his suite.
Yusuke- Hiei,..?
Hiei- Not now! She’s still.. d--- heavy.
* Yusuke sighs and watches him disappear into his suite and kick the door shut. The Toushin shakes his head, pockets his hands in his jeans, and heads back to his own guestroom.
