Scene 10 ------------- The Next Morning
* When Kurama begins to wake up this morning his nose twitches at the scent that invades his nostrils. The more aware he becomes the better he recognizes it. He quietly sits up.
Yusuke- Morning.
Kurama- Yusuke, didn't we have this conversation about personal space?
* Yusuke sighs and turns to sit indian-style facing Kurama. He decides its no longer necessary to keep his eyes attached above Kurama's shoulders. So he trails his eyes over the naked redhead's body, as much as is exposed considering Kurama's hunched position.
Yusuke- Aren't we still friends?
Kurama- Yes.. Now go away.
Yusuke- No. You're going to listen to me!
* Kurama stiffens when Yusuke's hand juts up to grasp one of his forelocks. Until he realizes what he's doing, then he gently releases the soft red strands.
Kurama- I thought you made your stand clear on this..
Yusuke- I've been thinking..
Kurama- Do you have to remain so close?
Yusuke- Hey! You haven't had a shower lately, either, Foxy!
* Kurama 'eeps' and lowers his face to discreetly sniff his person.
Yusuke- You're the one that said we have to do something yesterday.. Don't tell me you don't have any self control so just shut up and listen to me.
* Kurama forces himself to relax, but leans back against the cold, iron wall.
Kurama- Make it quick.
Yusuke- As I said, I've been thinking..
Kurama- You?
Yusuke- Don't go there.
* Kurama chuckles a bit to try to ease his own tension.
Kurama- Please continue.
Yusuke- I've been thinking about what that guy said yesterday.
Kurama- Guy?
Yusuke- Yes. Guy. One of the idiots that comes into that little room behind the thick glass over there.
* Kurama raises his blank green eyes to glance around nervously. Yusuke swallows but controls his ire at the cruel act that is keeping his friend in this condition.
Kurama- We're being watched?
Yusuke- Not right now.. Unless you count that d--- camera in the corner.
Kurama- A camera?
* Kurama once again hunches up making a poor attempt to conceal his nudity.
Yusuke- Yeah. Whatever. That guy said that we could settle this.. another way.
* Now Kurama recalls the words that were spoken by the strange voice yesterday. He quickly shakes his head. Yusuke reaches out to grasp his arm to keep the redhead from scooting away.
Yusuke- Listen.. If you claim me we'll get out of this stupid room. You'll still be the alpha and we won't have to fight.. I won't have to hurt you and Shishi won't lose your baby.
* Kurama looks away.
Yusuke(Quietly)- I know you're concerned about your mates..
Kurama- Go away, Yusuke.. I won't ruin you.
Yusuke- I've thought this out. I have less to lose than you if..
Kurama- Are you deaf?!
* Yusuke huffs, but keeps his temper in check.
Yusuke- How the h--- would it ruin me?
Kurama- It would break you.. Why can't you see that?
* Kurama glares at Yusuke and feels the Toushin lean closer.
Yusuke- Didn't you hear me? There won't be a fight.. I'm willing to lay down for you, 'Rama.
* Kurama jerks back and nervously gathers up his knees.
Kurama- You.. don't understand.
* Yusuke backs off and studies Kurama a moment.
Yusuke- I think I'm.. starting to.. You don't want me..
Kurama- It's not like that! You didn't hear a word I said to you yesterday! I'm blind, Yusuke.. They'll probably keep us both warded like this.. I'll never be a proper alpha in this..
Yusuke- Then what do we do?
* This time Yusuke allows Kurama to scramble away from him. He sags his head into his hands.
Yusuke- I'm not going to force you into anything.
Kurama- Then we are at an impasse.
* Yusuke tilts his head toward Kurama.
Yusuke- A..? Whatever.
* Yusuke stands to begin pacing.
Yusuke- Then I don't know what else to do.
* It doesn't really surprise either of them when the door opens. Kurama lowers his eyes thinking that the breakfast trays have arrived. But he jerks his head back up when he soon hears a scuffle ensue. When the redhead starts to stand a couple pairs of hands shove him back down roughly. Kurama growls.
Kuchki- Just sedate him for now.
Kurama- What are you..?!
* Kurama's words are shut down when he feels a needlegun thumped against his neck. The drug that's injected is a fast-acting sedative. When Kurama slumps to the floor and passes out the two blue-robed demons follow Kuchki and Matsua out with a bound and similarly-sedated Yusuke.
