Hiei's Harem: - Pt. 5 - Searching

Scene 10 ------------- Another Area Of The Barren Lands


* Kurama and Shishiwakamaru have just finished 'waking each other up' when Kurama suddenly raises up into a crouch away from the flustered samurai demon. Shishi watches Youko jerk his eyes in different directions. Kurama feels Shishi start to sit up and places a hand on his bare chest.


Kurama (Quietly)- Stay down!


* Shishi obeys and glances at Touya and Suzuka when they crawl over. Kurama motions them to be quiet as well. He then swipes his hand toward one of the areas where he senses one of the group of demons that's sneaking in closer. Immediately that demon is no longer a problem. Kurama then spins to face a new direction and touches both of his hands to the ground. He smirks to himself when he hears a familiar yell followed by two unfamiliar screams of agony. Kurama lifts his hands and turns to leap off in the final direction. This intruder has the strongest aura so he decides to meet him head on. Shishi, Touya, and Suzuka grin and snicker toward Yusuke when he stumbles back into the clearing, fastening his jeans and cursing profusely.


Yusuke- D--- it! Can't a f---in' guy take a d--- whiz in the morning without being..!!


* They turn their attention back toward the pair of fighting males when Yusuke shuts up. The Toushin growls and starts forward when Kurama and the rogue roll into the clearing clawing and biting at each other.


Touya- Yusuke, no..

Shishi- We already explained this s--- to you.

Suzuka- If he'll need help that'll be my job.


* Yusuke glances toward them then looks back toward the fight. It takes all of his self-control to keep from collecting his energy into his right fist. Kurama kicks his opponent off of him and leaps to his feet to face him. Yusuke swallows when he recognizes the demon as some sort of wild canine type. The rogue snarls, in full feral mode, and looks toward Kurama's pack. The Youko takes advantage of his opponent's distraction by calling out his rose whip. Before the rival male can move Kurama's whip scatters him in small pieces to the four winds. When Youko relaxes he collapses down to all fours and shifts back into his human form. Yusuke sinks to sit as he watches the other three hurry over to their Alpha. For several moments the redhead assures them that he's alright. Yusuke drops his head into his hands to gather himself. He felt the strength of that rogue and knew that Kurama would be able to take him out. But the sight of those two battling males naerly sent him into a frenzy of his own. Kurama notices Yusuke's reaction and makes his way over. The Toushin starts when Kurama lays a hand on his shoulder. Wide brown eyes lift to meet brilliant green. Almost too late Kurama and Yusuke realize that they are both still a bit worked up. Yusuke back-pedals as Kurama leaps to a more alert stance. The redhead shakes his head to clear it of the instincts urging him to claim the viral male in front of him while he was offguard. In a few moments Yusuke gathers himself and stands to face Kurama. This triggers the redhead to return to his Youko form.


Yusuke- Hey, down boy..

Kurama- Yusuke,.. we respect each other..

Yusuke- Yeah.. So what is this s---?


* Shishi, Touya, and Suzuka exchange glances as the two begin to move closer to each other almost simultaneously.


Kurama- You know I didn't force you before..


* Yusuke stops moving and levels his flickering eyes at Kurama.


Yusuke- You couldn't.


* Kurama stops a few inches from the Toushin. He can sense that Yusuke is just barely controlling his demon, keeping it from taking over. The Youko's silver tail raises and begins to swish from side to side as he studies his friend. The action momentarily catches Yusuke's attention. But it is long enough for him to regain his composure.


Kurama- That wasn't a challenge.

Yusuke- No.. It was.. faith in our friendship.


* Kurama slowly nods.


Kurama- You are correct, Yusuke.. Although my every instinct screams for me to..

Yusuke- Kurama,..


* Yusuke looks away from the Kitsune's intense golden eyes. He notices the other three watching them curiously.


Yusuke- If I would let you.. do that.. it would make me lower than them.. in your eyes.


* Now Kurama glances toward his pack. After a couple moments he lowers his eyes and melts back into his human form. He half glances at Yusuke again sadly.


Kurama- I would not do that to you.


* Kurama turns to move away but Yusuke reaches out and grabs his arm gently.


Yusuke- If there was some way that.. we could do it on equal terms..


* Kurama meets his dark eyes, his nose catches the scent of Yusuke's arousal.


Kurama- I.. wish I could see a way to do that.


* Yusuke releases him and Kurama starts away again.


Yusuke- So we find Hiei.. Then what?

Kurama- We take him back to Yukina of course.

Yusuke- But what if he's around here somewhere.. gathering his own pack or.. turned to being a rogue just like that demon you just..?


* Kurama pauses. He must admit, he's never given either of these scenarios much consideration. Kurama tilts his head in thought, then shrugs.


Kurama- I have my doubts that Hiei would allow himself to be caught up in all of this.. He's never shown much interest in pack life.. before.


* Yusuke crosses his arms.


Yusuke- D---, you've propositioned him before, too, haven't you?


* Kurama decides to ignore the comment.


Kurama- But you know, this is actually the worst time of year for a lone male with no desires whatsoever to be in this region.. The mere scents of demons in heat and those that are already bred can turn any unattached, single male feral.. I mean, just look at yourself.


* Kurama half turns to look at Yusuke. The Toushin stiffens a moment, then waves one of his hands as he sits down.


Yusuke- Don't look at me like that.. It ain't gonna happen with me, Fox.

Kurama- Perhaps not with me.. But you may take off if you catch the scent of a demon in heat.


* Yusuke thinks a moment, then shrugs, then looks up at Kurama again. Obviously a bit aggitated again.


Yusuke- Just worry about your own life, d--- it!


* Kurama chuckles and Yusuke calms down again.


Yusuke- Hey, Mukuro told me that Hiei took off from his patrol squad.. She said the squad reported that he caught a scent and took off.. Could he have chased off after a heated demon?


* Kurama rubs his chin thoughtfully.


Kurama- If he had we wouldn't have seen him for several months.. A mated male never leaves his pregnant mate unprotected.


* Yusuke crosses his arms and lowers his eyes thoughtfully. Kurama continues on his way back to his pack. Yusuke glances back toward them to watch the three lower demons preen as Kurama checks them. Something excites him enough to make Kurama hug Shishiwakamaru. Yusuke's instincts whisper their suspecions to him and he lowers his eyes again.
