Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters in the story.

Warning: Yaoi, BL, cursing... I'm sure there are more, but you get the point.

Author's Note: I'm so sorry!!! I've been focusing on school which is taking way more time than it should. I have no idea when I'll be able to update next, but I'm hoping to go through most of my stories tonight and see if I can add a chapter where I can.

Chapter 10: Attack!

*****

“Kurama.”

“… Ka-Karasu?” the blood drained from the already pale beauty.

“Is that how you greet your old lover after you left without any warning?”

“You were never my lover,” he scoffed, fear gripped at his insides, twisting his intestines in to a poodle balloon.

“Why not give a proper greeting? A small hug or soft kiss?” his thin lips slid into an eerie sneer.

“I don’t work for you anymore, Karasu. You don’t run my life,” he stated. He had depended on Karasu for all the wrong reasons, he saw that now. After all, hindsight is always 20/20. He was starting to feel another wave of dizziness take over, and knew that he had to finish this quickly.

“Then how about a proper good bye, hm?” he took a step closer, but Kurama brought a fist to the man’s cheek, sending him back a few steps but the man just smirked, holding his cheek. He watched a blood dribbled from the busted lip before remembering to get away quickly. The lack of sleep and food was really starting to take effect.

“Leave me alone!” Kurama shouted, swinging a leg around to slam hard into the taller man’s side, and Karasu flew into the alley wall. He could hear the sickly thud as the dark haired male’s head bounced off the bricks. In complete fear, Kurama sprinted off without minding any of his surroundings, just knowing that Karasu might possibly be behind him, lurking and waiting to strike.

After locking the door, Kurama managed to take a few more steps into his sanctuary before everything around his went black.

*****

“…rama… Kurama, wake up!”

“Mm,” Kurama smiled, unconsciously, he was so warm and comfortable, he had no yearning to actually awake from the world of soft caresses and loving heat being wrapped around him.

“Please.”

“Hiei?” the soft voice murmured, his eyes still closed.

“Come on, Kurama, wake up.”

Hiei? Why did he sound so scared? Did he actually worry about him?

“Kurama, open your eyes!”

“Ow, stop hitting me,” he grabbed the other man’s wrist as he finally started to flutter his eyelids.

Hiei physically relaxed, his wrist going limp in the loose hold, and pulling Kurama’s body closer to him with his other hand.

“What’s going on? Did I miss our first time?” he realized they were in Hiei’s bed, and they were laying rather comfortably in one another’s arms.

“You idiot,” Hiei’s sighed out, resting his chin on the other’s head.

“No, really, what happened? I remember getting out of having work tonight, but then… Ka… Karasu…”

“What about Karasu?” Hiei almost seemed to snap at the name.

“He tried to…”

“I’ll kill him,” Hiei growled.

“He’s probably still unconscious in the alleyway if you’re so intent about it,” the redhead sat up slowly, allowing the sheets to fall, revealing the fact that he was stripped from the waist up. “Hiei, did you take my clothes me?”

“You were drenched in sweat,” he shrugged, “I left your boxers on, but really Kurama, pink?”

“They’re satin, did you like the feel?” he winked, teasingly.

Hiei just rolled his eyes, “Are you hungry?”

“Starving,” he was happy to take the plate that Hiei shoved into his eager hands.

“There’s some left over pizza, would you like anything else?”

“Mm, are you my slave for the night?”

“No, I’m your caretaker as long as you’re living in this condominium,” he corrected with a slight scowl.

“Until I’m eighteen, and then you’ll be my lover,” he kissed Hiei on the cheek, but the business man pulled away slightly. “Sorry.”

“I’ll go see if there are any other leftovers in the fridge.”

“You can’t cook anything for me?” he pouted.

“Not if you wish to see tomorrow,” Hiei smirked in the doorway.

*****

The tall and limber build shifted and slowly stirred from sleep. With a low moan, bleary verdant eyes tried to read the angry red numbers that slowly came into focus at about ‘2:37’.

“Hiei?” he sat up, stretching a little. If he was in Hiei’s bed with no Hiei, where was Hiei? As gracefully as possible, the redhead stood and stumbled a little trying to find the doorknob to the rest of the condo.

The business man was passed out on the couch, the cartoons on the television. The adorable look made Kurama smile as he bent forward to leave a gentle kiss on his lover-to-be’s forehead.

“Mph, Yukina.”

A rush of jealousy ran through Kurama before he remembered the girl in the only picture in Hiei’s place.

“Five more minutes,” he curled into a smaller ball.

“Hiei, baby, you’re going to have to move. I don’t want you hurting your back from sleeping on the couch.”

“No, I’m fine.”

“I’m lonely. Can we sleep together? Just tonight?” he played his tongue over Hiei’s ear a little.

“So tired.”

“Mm, come with me, baby, I’ll give you the best night of your life.”

“That’s gross,” Hiei’s eyes barely opened.

“I’m not your sister, love,” Kurama giggled, pulling Hiei up right.

“Oh, Kurama, you’re awake.”

“And so are you… well, sort of…” he managed to half carry half drag Hiei back to bed, “Mmm, this is much better, right?”

Hiei just mumbled something under his even breathing as he barely recognized the weight that was now on his chest only moaning lightly when he felt soft kisses along his chest.

“I love you,” Kurama whispered before going back to sleep.

*****

“Oh shit!” Hiei jumped out of bed from Kurama's grasp.

“Ouch,” Kurama sat up on his elbows, “Why did you do that?”

“The hell? When… what… how did I? Why are we…?”

“Come back to bed, love,” Kurama grumbled as he held tighter to the soft pillow he had taken in compensation for the loss of Hiei’s firm chest.

“I went to the couch.”

“And I brought you back.”

“Kurama, you can’t do that. We’re not like everyone else. There is a huge age difference between us.”

“I don’t care about age,” Kurama sat up, completely annoyed with the way their morning conversation was going.

“I do!”

“Hiei,” Kurama shook his head.

“What?”

“I… I guess it doesn’t matter, I have to get to school.”

“It’s Saturday.”

“Is it?” Kurama shook his head, “I wasn’t out that long was I?”

“No, you passed out on Friday.”

“Oh, right, my project was due on Friday…” his fine eyebrows scrunched together.

“Kurama, lie back down,” he stated sternly, “You’ve over exhausted yourself. You need some sleep.”

“I have…”

“I already told your work that you wouldn’t be able to come in today, they’ve made arrangements.”

“You did what?”

“Why sound so angry?” Hiei asked coldly as he went about changing into his suit.

“You had no right to do that.”

“Do you want to go to work?” he raised an eyebrow in the mirror, watching Kurama just over his shoulder.

“I want to be able to make my own money,” Kurama exclaimed louder than necessary.

“You can do that tomorrow, right now you need your rest.”

“If it’s Saturday then why are you getting ready for work so early?”

“I have to go find a translator for Germany.”

“What? I thought that I was going with you.”

“You are obviously over loaded with too many things to do. I need someone who can…” he was cut off by Kurama's long arms winding about his broad shoulders.

“Hiei, please. I’ve been working so hard so we can go to Germany together,” he nuzzled the man’s cheek with his nose, “It can be like when we were in Japan. Just you and me… business men for a little while, but just you and me for the most part.”

“Kurama, I don’t…”

“Please don’t make it have been for absolutely nothing,” the redhead pleaded, “I’ve been studying for so long just so we can be alone and outside of this place. Don’t betray me and go find somebody else to take with you. It would hurt so much to see you go off with someone else for a week.”

“Kurama…” Hiei turned in the teen’s arm, “you have no idea…”

“No idea?” Kurama barely managed out before the other shoved him violently onto the bed, “Hiei!”

“You have no idea,” he tried to find the right words, “I saw you on the floor, and I… Kurama I have never been afraid in my life. I saw you… you weren’t moving. I couldn’t even tell if you were breathing. I nearly went into shock.”

“Hiei! Look at me!” Kurama remained on the bed, his boxers pulled high up on his thighs, “I am fine.”

“You might not have been. You said that you saw Karasu.”

“I took care of Karasu. I can protect myself from scum such as that.”

“Kurama,” Hiei approached the bed slowly, cupping the young boy’s cheeks, “What if it had been Yomi. You can’t take him on. Yomi is too strong for you to protect yourself from if you are alone.”

A soft smile creased Kurama's face as he took Hiei’s hands with his own, “You are too sweet for words sometimes.”

“Hn,” his rough thumbs continued to rub on the high cheekbones for a while longer.

“Please, Hiei, please take me with you to Germany. I know they don’t have hot springs so we can have fun in like in Japan, but there are bars where we can go drinking at. You know the legal drinking age is only sixteen.”

“I don’t think your mother would like to hear about you getting completely wasted in another country.”

“You know… in Germany… the age for sexual consent is also only sixteen… When we get there we can do whatever we want.”

“Kurama, we’re going to do this the right way. It may technically be legal, but there is still a large age difference between us, and there is still too much for us to learn about one another before we should do anything drastic.”

“How is sex drastic?” Kurama managed to keep most of the whining out of his voice.

“I don’t want you to socialize what we have with what you and those men had,” he suddenly snapped.

They both stared at one another, “I… you… we… Hiei.”

“You’re very articulate, I see. What am I paying your tuition for?”

“You… Hiei, how can you think that I have any sort of correlation between you and those men other than you saved me from them?” Kurama held Hiei’s face between his soft palms.

“There’s just something… odd about us.”

“Yes, of course there is; you’re twice my age and half my height,” Kurama found himself pinned on his back, squirming with laughter and small squeals of happiness.

Hiei smirked as he tickled his young beloved relentlessly.

“Ack! Ah! S-stop! You win, you win,” he shoved at the callused hands, but they refused to give up, so Kurama did the next best thing, he fought back, rolling Hiei under him and getting him at the sides.

Hiei burst out laughing at the two tumbled off the bed, landing in a heap of panting hormones, Kurama was sprawled across the shorter business man who seemed nothing like he usually was while in work.

The two stopped to breathe for a little while when Kurama reached up to hold Hiei’s cheek in the palm of his hand, “I love you so much.”

Blood rushed into Hiei’s face before he managed to lean down to Kurama's lips, “I love you, too.”

The redhead smiled beautifully before closing the gap to fulfill their longing kiss.

*****

“Mm, that was really good,” Kurama huffed falling onto the bed next to Hiei, “You are so awesome.”

“Hn,” he smirked, kissing his redhead on the forehead.

“You never told me it would be that… perfect,” the taller male cuddled into the other’s arms.

“I’m glad you enjoyed it so much.”

“And you said you couldn’t cook. That was one of the best meals I have ever had,” he assured.

“Hn,” he rested his cheek on the top of the red fluff, “good night.”

“Good night,” Kurama kissed the shoulder he was resting on before the couple drifted off into dreamland.

*****

Hiei was growing more and more annoyed by the minute, Mukuro had shown up at his lunch break once again. She was here to convince him to marry her once again.

“It will not be permanent, we will receive our shares of the funds and we can go on a ‘honeymoon’, where something might happen and we instantly fall apart. It will be fast and simple. This way not too many people will become too suspicious over that slut you’ve been harboring in your condo.”

That got the business man’s attention, “Kurama is not a slut.”

“Still, how do you think that the media will react to the fact that you are rooming with a teenage runaway. I did a little research on him.”

“What did you find out? That he had been the number one student in his class until he was thrown out onto the street by his step-father? That his mother agreed to allowing him to live with me as he picked up his studies once again? Or did you discover that he is now getting perfect marks in all of his classes even though he’s two years younger than everyone else in his college?”

Mukuro glared at what should have been her fiancée, but was nothing more than a nuisance keeping her away from the easy money. Sure it was technically Hiei’s easy money to make, but there was no where she could go if she tried to piss Hiei off even more other than one step closer to her grave.

The irritatingly cocky business man smirked at the now speechless woman, “There is not much for you to say, is there?”

“You are the one that is boarding with a boy half your age, trying desperately to keep your hands off of one another.”

“Mad that I’m getting something that you aren’t?”

“Gr… Shut up!” she lost all composure and snarled outright.

“I think that it’s time that you left.”

“Fine, but this isn't the end of this conversation. Realize this Hiei, not only are you losing those riches, but you're also gaining a new competitor. I'll be sure to see you go down,” she flicked her hair over her shoulder and turned on her heels, she was able to keep her calm for the most part, but her steps were a little bit heavier than usual.
