We Sat There

*Hey everyone! I know it is long overdue and I sincerely apologize to everyone. I was caught up in a ton of paper work and travelling for months... aaargh! Enough about the excuses. This is the final installment and I hope you’ll like it.

Again, I don’t own yyh (I wish!). It’s just that something came over me. Send me comments, reviews, anything. *

We Sat There

It was final. She would try and forget… even if it’s hard and learn from it. Somehow, something gave her hope.

It was weeks since Yusuke and Botan last talked. It has been a long time. Last she heard, Yusuke and Keiko were trying to work out and start again as friends. She was sincerely happy they did. Both of them were her friends. She didn’t feel any resentment towards any of them or regret. It was all behind her now.

She got herself busy ferrying souls and helping out Koenma with some paper work. It wasn’t a problem since there weren’t any new threats from the demon world and Koenma decided to be nice to her and would give her a light load every time she got assigned. When she didn’t have duties to carry out, she goes out with Shizuru and Yukina. Sometimes, she drops by the lake to visit the fishes.

Maybe I should start by not falling in love with my friends.

But even as she told herself that, something told her to think otherwise, for there was one who was constantly in her mind.

At first, she hoped to find him there as they didn’t see each other often in the past several weeks. She’s often by Yusuke’s side.

She didn’t see it then but he was always there for her, even if she was a headache sometimes. She can’t help but remember a time when she accidentally knocked some of his Shimaneki seeds when she visited in school and caused a commotion in the cafeteria. In a few minutes, the cafeteria was brimming with an assortment of flower arrangements, disrupting the students who witnessed the unfortunate disaster.

”You are one clumsy deity. If someone got hurt, Koenma will kill me,” he said while trying to deal with the stunned ninggens.

“Pffft! Tackle me later! Let’s just fix this first… And he won’t kill you. He’ll kill us!” she retorted.

They practically had to brainwash every ninggen who was there. She remembered how mad Koenma was at her. In his boy form, he was quite a sight as he was fumed and sentenced her with three times her work load for two weeks.

He just smirked. He never got mad at her even if she got him in trouble. A youko who lets her get away with almost anything. He even indulged her, letting her coerce him into riding with her on her oar.

That was fun. He didn’t want to at first. No one did. But she won over him and he reluctantly agreed.

Come to think of it, that was kind of sweet of him.

Her thoughts went back to that afternoon in the lake. He took her by surprise when he suddenly asked her to go with him. He wasn’t impulsive or brazen. She beamed inwardly and said okay.

She caught him off guard when she summoned her oar and suddenly splashed him with water. She can’t help but laugh at the look on his face. He was always alert.

But not that day, she thought. She smiled at the memory.

“You didn’t just do that!” His face was aghast and dripping.

“But I did!!!” She stuck her tongue out at him. “Is the water cool?” She giggled.

“Oh, you will pay for that…” he growled but his eyes danced.

Suddenly, she yelped when he swiftly submerged his arm and splashed her back.

She can’t believe they were acting like children. Actually, it was how she was most of the time. It was him whom she couldn’t believe was acting like that. Not that she’d mind. He was more laid back, and laughing with her. A break from his usual serious self.

He was always taking care of me. She’d been feeling rotten that day and she knew he sensed that somehow. That afternoon was to cheer her up. She recalled that he dropped by one night but she was asleep. She hasn’t had the chance to see him yet.

I miss him.

She didn’t have any duties that day as Ayame offered to take her shift. She helped out with the laundry and cleaned the house. After lunch, she went out with Shizuru to the market to buy groceries. She helps out with the chores since it was kind of her friend to let her stay over at their house. When they returned, it was dusk.

“Why don’t you watch TV while I prepare dinner?” Shizuru advised as she slipped on an apron.

“Don’t you need any help cooking?” Botan offered. She needed an outlet as she didn’t feel tired at all.

“No. I’m trying out this new dish and I want to- why don’t you walk for a while? You know, visit the fishes…” Shizuru winked. She knew that Botan frequented that place.

“Maybe I will…I’ll go and take a shower. To not scare the fish away.” Shizuru laughed as Botan went ahead.

After the shower, she took her kimono out of the closet and wore it. It felt soft against her skin. She combed her hair and tied it up. She loved it when a gentle wind blows at her nape.

“I’m going out now,” she called to Shizuru who was concentrated chopping stuff, she didn’t notice her friend leave.

“Hmmm… what’s next?” Her brows knotting as she read the next step on the cooking book. She thought she’ll have to redeem herself after she charred dinner the last time she tried.

Botan went to the lake. She always did when she felt tired or alone. But this time, she wasn’t alone.

“What are you doing here?” She blurted out as emerald orbs absorbed her. She felt conscious with the way his eyes studied her. She didn’t mean to blurt out some rude comment. Lord knows how many times she contemplated on what to say to him when she saw him again… it’s just that she didn’t expect to see him now.

Kurama gazed at her, completely immersed at the sight of her. He was sitting at the same spot when they came here. He remained silent, his eyes never leaving hers.

Botan lifted her hands to her hair, twirling a few strands about, feeling like a silly little girl. She was so happy to see him again. She willed herself to stop. She must have looked pathetic.

Good going Botan, the great boy-repellant, she thought. She finally noticed where they were.

“We sat there,” she said remembering when they first came there. It feels so long ago, she thought.

She moved to sit next to him. He remained mute. She’s beginning to wonder about what he was thinking. She turned to him. He had that far-away look in his eyes. She remembered his face so well. It was one of her favorite things to look at.

Kurama was aware of every movement she made next to him.

“ ‘We sat there.’ Funny what word those words can form.”

“You already talked with him,” he began. He didn’t look at her. Botan was beginning to feel apprehensive. She shifted to face him.

“Yes. He told me how he felt.” She paused when he didn’t say anything.

“I have something to tell you,” Botan said softly.

Kurama sighed, “I know.” He closed his eyes for a moment, then took a deep breath.

“You don’t have to tell me.”

“But I,” Botan was surprised. He knows? She wasn’t prepared at what came next.

“You are clumsy, ignorant, lots of times annoying and silly.” He was looking at her, his eyes luminous.

“Now, wait a minute--”

Kurama cut her angry outburst. “I can’t believe that a bit of a girl can get me in trouble. Most of the time. You badger me to do things. You hurt me and you don’t even know it,” he said calmly.

“WHAT? That is not fair!” she stood up abruptly, her eyes ablaze.

“You let me! I may be all those things but that’s who I am. And I’m not sorry I made you do them. I’m not going to apologize to you. And I never hurt you! I’ll never do that! Okay, maybe when I thwack you sometimes or pinch your arms or-- but you’re a goddamn kitsune!” She stopped for air. Her chest was heaving. She was shouting but he remained his quiet stance. She felt stupid.

“Are you even listening to me, Kurama?” How could he say those things to me?

His eyes softened as he spoke. “You got much closer than I thought you did. And it consumed me and everything around me. Every time we talk, every time I see you, every time I think of you… You’re a growing habit I can’t refuse.” Kurama squeezed his eyes shut.

“What, are you finally tired of me?” She was afraid to look at him. Maybe he was. There’s no other reason…

Kurama’s eyes widened. “No! You love him. And I can’t help but think that no matter what I’ll do, I’ll never be enough.”

“What are you saying?” She asked him. Her eyes were glistening with tears. She needed to hear what he had to say.

“Are you even listening to me?” He reiterated what she had said earlier.

Silence.

“I have fallen in love with you, Botan.”

A hush enveloped them. The wind blew and clouds swirled at the crescent moon casting a shadow over them.

Kurama stood and began to walk away. Of course. She didn’t-

“I want to be with you.”

It was so faintly spoken, he could have mistaken it for the wind. But each word made him stop.

“I want to be with you.”

He turned around. She said it plain and clear. He was taken aback.

“I am in love with you, Kurama.”

It was magical. A gust of wind billowed at her kimono. Kurama pulled her close to him and lowered his lips unto hers. It was the sweetest kiss, unhurried, passionate. She shivered.

“I’m cold,” she said.

They found themselves in his room. Though she had her back to him, she was very well aware of his presence.

With skilled fingers, he loosened the obi, wrapped around her, letting it fall on the floor. The dress hung on her slender form, waiting to be removed. Lithe fingers skimmed at her neckline, pulling the dress away, slipping it on the floor, joining the discarded obi. He unhooked her bra, kissed a shoulder and removed the rest of her undergarments.

She moved closer to him as his fingers traced the smooth indentation of her spine. She leaned her head back and rested it on his shoulder. He smiled and produced an elegant rosebud. He glided the rose over her satin skin, the velvet petals tracing the outline of her body. He sailed it across her stomach lingering over her navel. It traveled upwards until it touched a rosy peak. Botan let out a moan as he placed his lips on her neck, his tongue on her soft skin. He raised the flower to her lips, the petals giving her a kiss. He lifted her ponytail and tenderly kissed her nape before loosening her hair. Blue glorious tresses cascaded down her back.

Botan turned around. She lifted her fingers and touched his hair, feeling the silky strands slip about her fingers. She leaned forward and captured an earlobe between her lips. She felt Kurama’s quick intake of breath and smiled inwardly. She looked at him as her hands caught the hem of his shirt then slipped it off, revealing his gorgeous body.

“You are impossibly beautiful,” she breathed.

He glanced down and blushed at her. She sat down on the bed while he let her undress the rest of him. She worked on his belt, and slipped her fingers on top of his pants to slide it down his thighs and calves. She did the same to his boxers, adding it to the pile on the floor.

It was Botan’s turn to blush when the last of his clothes left him. He smiled, while she openly stared at him. She moved closer and blew at his navel, then moved her lips to his groin. He made a sensual sound. He sought out her lips and they fell into the mattress.

As their kiss deepened, his hands roamed her body feeling her silken skin. Her hands were in his hair and traveling up and down his back, feeling his muscles ripple beneath her touch. His lips traversed through her jaw line, down her neck, tasting the sweet skin.

“Hmmmm...”

Botan closed her eyes, allowing her self feel the sensations coursing going through her body. When his lips enclosed on her nipples, she felt her body ignite and another moan passed through her lips. She arched her body as Kurama made love to her rosy peaks. She reach and squeezed of his buttocks, caressing the cheeks. She heard him rumble low in his throat as he continued his blazing trail of hot kisses down her body, savoring every inch of her skin.

He stroked her legs, causing it to yield at his touch, as he parted it. He kissed the inside of her thigh, eliciting a seductive moan from her.

He parted her nether lips. “God, Kurama…” She whimpered, yearning to be touched, roused with desire.

He took her in his mouth, his tongue slipped up and down her slit. Seeking the entrance to her body, he plunged his tongue in her. She threw her head back in rapture. He repeatedly licked her, his tongue, oh god his tongue, lingering on her clits, and slowly sucking at the core stimulating her first orgasm.

He lapped up her juices greedily, his tongue ardently relishing the sweet liquid flowing out of her. She tugged at his hair, his head coming up and mounted her. He brought his lips to hers, allowing her to taste her essence while he tasted her. Her mouth was pliant against his, their tongues provoking each other.

She wrapped her legs around him and felt him probe at her entrance. She moved underneath him, but he remained still.

Please…

Emerald eyes pierced through her, unreadable, waiting. As their gazes locked, all that she felt for him was reflected in her lavender eyes. It was all he needed.

With one powerful thrust, he sheathed himself inside her. He covered her mouth with his, muffling her scream and kissed away her tears.

“Shhhh…” he whispered. He felt her relax and adjust to him. He smoothed down her damp hair. Her hands moved to his lower back and urged him to continue. He drew back a little and pushed in again. Soon, Botan found herself moving forward, meeting his thrusts as his breathing matched her own. He made love to her, satisfying each other’s insatiable need, loosing himself in feelings of desire, pleasure, and love. She held on to him, as he plunged deeper, his speed increasing heightening her senses as waves of pleasure engulfed her. Their bodies collided repeatedly, dancing to the music of their breathing and amorous moans.

She trembled as her fervor mounted. She pressed hard against him while her body tensed from within as she climaxed. Kurama felt her insides tighten against him, burning through him as he grasped her and grinded against her, thrusting his hips, moving against her as he pounded deeper into her. Finally, he found his body shake as his orgasm surged through him, and he spurted in her again and again.

Sunlight streamed through the windows when Botan awoke to Kurama who was staring at her. She blushed prettily as she wasn’t used to that kind of attention. He smiled at her as she moved and planted a kiss on his lips.

“So what word can ‘we sat there’ form?” she asked curiously.

“Sweetheart.”

“What do you want to do today, sweetheart?” She asked smiling up at him, feeling his love enveloping her, consuming her.

His eyes narrowed seductively. “Well, just you.”

“Then maybe breakfast...”

“In bed...”

“Sounds good to me.”

*Finally I was able to post this one. I was afraid this one’s forgotten already and I seriously considered if I’m still going to post it or not, but then I owed it to those who’ve read it and enjoyed it and to those kind enough to drop a review or two. So Botan and Kurama ended up together in this one. I had a Yusuke Botan alternate ending months ago but I decided to just delete it. Maybe I’ll just save that ending for another fanfic...

KuwaLove :Thanks for the review. I would love to make another story when I have the free time. I am still thinking about a theme and which the characters I would use. So, until then! Thanks.

The Green Knight, Botan Urameshi : Thanks for dropping by, I really appreciate it.
