And Wildcard Smoochie
And Wildcard Smoochie
Part One
Yusuke set his bag down at the top of the stairs that had been cut from the solid stone. He looked down and whistled. He’d effectively climbed a mountain, a bleak, severe and barren mountain. There was a time when a climb like this would have killed him-- or at least severely winded him. That was a long time ago, when he had been human. As a demon he had a lot more stamina, he knew, but still the aspects of his newer body surprised him.
Yusuke turned toward the massive doors that looked like they were part of the mountain face. They might have been, at one time. As he understood it the place was actually carved out of the mountain itself. It probably had natural caves to begin with that were later altered and connected. He wondered briefly who had done the work.
The place was one of the compounds that belonged to his late teacher, Genkai. On her death she left it to a group of students she had trained there. That‘s why he was there now, to train with them in preparation for the Demon World Tournament. It was gonna be cool seeing them all again and who knows one of them might actually win it this year.
The instant Yusuke opened the door he was accosted by red hair, big blue eyes and a big toothy grin.
Jin pounced on Yusuke, literally, nearly knocking him off his feet. “Yusuke! It’s been so long since I’ve seen you, it has! Ah, you’ve sure gotten bigger since the first time I laid eyes on ya-- but you were little more than a little boy then. But look at you all growing up, being a man. You’re as tall as me now, you are!” Jin rattled off a mile a minute. Yusuke only caught half of it.
“Why don’t you just lick his face and beg for a treat?” Someone interjected snidely. Of course no one was offended, because they knew exactly who it was coming from and therefore knew it wasn’t personal. It was just his way. He hadn’t changed a bit.
“Ha, jealous Hiei?” Yusuke detached himself from Jin and promptly subjected Hiei to a similar treatment the wind master had given him. Hiei opened his mouth to give complaint, but uncharacteristically hesitated.
Nobody noted this phenomena, however, because that was when Kurama made his presence known, calmly walking in with his hands in his pockets, Kuwabara trailing behind him. He smiled coyly and said, “I’ll admit to jealously. Do I not deserve such a warm greeting?”
“Kurama! It’s been too long, man. How’ve you been?” Yusuke rushed into the red-haired man’s open arms. Kurama had gained a lot of height since his youth-- mostly in his legs. His crimson red hair had also gotten longer, falling to the small of his back. And the baby fat had finally faded from his face giving his jaw line a stronger appearance; however he still remained beautiful enough to be mistaken for a handsome woman.
Walking in next to Kuwabara, they actually looked like a handsome couple. Kuwabara had gained some weight since their teenage years, fleshing out his limbs and face, making him more firm and broad and less gangly. The change naturally came from maturity, bit his friends liked to attribute it to “married life”. Two years ago, he had married his lifetime love, the ice maiden, Yukina.
He was lucky in a sense, that his wife was a demon girl. She understood the supernatural aspects of the psychic human’s life. He did not have to apologize for it.
Kurama patted Yusuke on the back, and smiled, “I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to sneak off for this trip. Mother’s been trying to set me up again.”
“Oh, what did you tell her this time?” Yusuke asked.
“Let’s just say, I’d better bring back some fish,” Kurama smiled. He looked over at Hiei, “Hiei, I’m surprised to see you here. I thought you did your training with Mukuro.”
“The old women’s decided not to compete this year. I guess she’s over the ruling demon world thing,” Hiei shrugged. Mukuro had won the Demon World Tournament three years ago, following King Enki’s reign. Apparently, she decided not to go for a second term. “That leaves me shy a sparring partner. But more importantly what is that doing here?” Hiei pointed to Kuwabara.
“Kuwabara is going to compete in this year’s tournament,” Kurama informed him.
“But he’s human!” Hiei snapped.
“That‘s what I said when fox-boy wrangled me into coming,” Kuwabara snorted, “But there’s no rules saying that a human can’t compete. I might be out of my league….”
“That’s a fact,” Hiei cut in.
“Non-sense,” Jin interjected, “I remember when he took on ol’ Risho. It looked like he was down for the count and then whoopee! He was back up again. Full of surprises, that’s what he is.
“Ah, but what are we doing jawing here in the foyer? Ol’ Toya will be coming down here to bop me on the skull soon if I don‘t get ya into the hall. They’ve gotten a big feast to celebrate our reunion and it’ll be getting cold on the table.”
“Ya hear that Kuwabara?” Yusuke slapped his friend on the shoulder, “There’s food involved. Let’s go.”
As the two followed Jin into the hall, Hiei touched Kurama’s arm. “Yusuke… was there something off about him?”
“I can’t say I noticed anything particular,” Kurama frowned. When Yusuke hugged him, he had thought he sensed something, but he couldn‘t put his finger on it. He thought he might have imagined it. “It could just be that we haven’t seen him--”
Hiei abruptly grabbed his collar as they passed into the banquet hall and hauled him down. A long sword flew through the air and stuck in the door right were Kurama’s head had been.
“You take that back!” Shishiwakamaru, the pretty boy swordsman, was yelling at the blond haired weapon’s expert, Suzuki-- That is, the ‘beautiful Suzuki’ as he likes to fashion himself.
“Facts are facts and attempts on my life will not change anything,” Suzuki challenged, “Your biscuits are dry!”
“My biscuits are golden, bitch!” Shishi snapped back. “It’s your gravy that’s bad. It‘s bland as hell!”
“My mother created that recipe!”
“Your mother never heard of pepper!”
“Nice save, Hiei.” Yusuke rushed to help the fox up from the ground “You okay, Kurama?”
“I’m….” Kurama paused looking at Yusuke. There was something. What was that? A smell? Kurama leaned in farther, unconsciously trying to get a stronger whiff of it. It was something sweet, almost… alluring. He muttered, “I’m fine.”
“Uh, Kurama?” Yusuke called to him as if he were a mile away.
Just then Shishi’s sheath came hurtling toward them, forcing them to duck out of the way. By then Toya had spotted them and skirted the madness, saying, “Don’t mind them. They’ve been like this all day.”
“All day? They’ve been like this since we’ve known them,” Chu, the drunken warrior chuckled from the nearby table where he was playing cards with his young friend Rinku, master of the deadly yoyos.
Rinku added, “They’re like an old married couple, I swear.”
“If only,” Chu slurred, “If they was, Suzuki might just slip his sword in Shishi’s sheath, if ya know what I mean, than Shishi wouldn’t have his knickers in a twist all the time.”
“Don’t be gross, Chu,” Rinku admonished him, “And anyway, if anyone’s sheathing his sword, it’ll be Shishi in Suzuki.”
“Ya want to bet on that?” Chu slammed a stack of bills on the table, “Twenty says Shishi’s gonna be limping by the end of this trip!”
“Fine,” Rinku matched him, “And when Suzuki can’t sit down anymore, I’ll be twenty bucks richer.”
“Okay!” Toya’s voice rose above the rabble, “I think everyone is here.”
Yusuke looked around. The old team was back together again, all but Genkai who had departed for Spirit World some of years ago. Kurama, Kuwabara, and even Hiei were there. And then there was Chu, Rinku, Shishi, Suzuki, Jin, and Toya, they were all remnants of teams defeated by his team in the Dark Tournament. They later came together to form a team of their own. But Yusuke always thought of all ten of them a being one big team. And for the first time in years they were all together again. This was going to be a trip to remember.
After the feast and much reminiscing on old times and catching up on new times, the day’s rigors started to catch up with them.
“Man I’m beat,” Yusuke yawned, “Where are the beds in this rock?”
“We have three dorm rooms, currently two to each, but each on has a capacity for three, but that still leaves one man out,” Toya informed the newcomers, “There is master Genkai’s old room. Someone could sleep there.”
“Hey cool, a private room,” Kuwabara said, “But who gets it?”
“Let’s fight for it,” Yusuke suggested, “We came here to train right, so this can be like a practice tournament.”
“Urameshi, bed time is like in an hour,” Kuwabara groaned, “Even if we did it battle royal style it could take us days to knock each other out.”
“Maybe some contest of endurance?” Toya suggested.
“That sounds cool, but endurance to what?” Yusuke asked, “Cold ain’t no far, cuz you’re an ice apparition. Neither is heat cuz Hiei’s a fire element. Chu’s got everyone tabled on alcohol consumption….”
“I got it!” Chu exclaimed, “Wildcard Smoochie!”
Chu explained the game. First they all picked from a deck of paired cards to determine partners. As it would be the pairings were Kuwabara and Rinku, Kurama and Toya, Chu and Suzuki, Shishi and Jin, and Yusuke and Hiei. Everyone would sit opposite their partner, leaning forward with nothing but a playing card between their pressed lips. The last person to look away is the winner.
“And remember you’re in it together. If your partner looks away and gets fifth place you’re stuck with fourth. So it don’t do no good to freak your partner out unless you’re the final two,” Chu finished.
Places nine and ten where determined instantly. Kuwabara took one look Rinku and said, “Ngh-uh, I ain’t doing this with weirdness with a kid.” Scoring him last place.
Rinku shot back with, “Who you calling a kid?” But none the less accepted ninth place rather than play the game.
Suzuki took eighth, being no match for Chu’s breath. Chu’s breath landed him in seventh. That left Yusuke with Hiei, Jin with Shishi, and Kurama with Toya. Yusuke couldn’t see the former pair, so couldn’t tell how they were doing. But he could see still Kurama and Toya clearly over Hiei’s shoulder. Kurama was staring vacantly through Toya. That is until his sight focused abruptly at Yusuke.
Under the other’s scrutiny, Yusuke became aware of his position in a way he had not appreciated before. He was more or less kissing Hiei, of all people. He could smell Hiei’s body, crisp and earthly, like cedar chips next to a spring brook. And he noticed for the first time the heat of Hiei’s lips permeating the card. And then looking directly forward, Yusuke found Hiei’s eyes, looked right on his, red as fire burning under the shadows of his thick lashes. That look sent a jolt of fire through his lips, down his back and right to his groin.
Yusuke jerked, nearly forfeiting his chance at the private room-- like he was thinking of that now! Hiei lashed out with his hand and grabbed Yusuke by the back of the head and pulled him back before he had the chance to completely break contact.
Yusuke felt the scorch of lips on lips and realized that they’d lost their card. Moreover, Hiei caught him with his mouth open. His lips were parted as well. His eyes were closed now and his lips were moving delicately over his. His hot breath panting over Yusuke’s lips was making him dizzy. Hiei was really kissing him now!
“Hiei!” Kurama’s sharp reprimanding tone cut through the haze. Hiei jerked back, started seeming not only by Kurama’s tone, but his own actions in the first place.
Everyone was staring at them. Finally it was Kuwabara who spoke, “Heh, looks like everyone got distracted by you guys and lost. But hey, they lost their card, does it still count?”
“I’d say it counts double,” Kurama said, sounding light again, “But Hiei backed off first so Yusuke gets the room.”
Yusuke shook himself, quickly clearing his head. The room, of course, this was about a room. Hiei must have really wanted it to do…that. He wasn’t really….Hiei was staring at the floor now, sulking.
“Hey, how’s about we share the room, Hiei?” Yusuke flung an arm over the smaller demon’s shoulder.
Hiei stiffened, inhaled, hesitated and then started, “Maybe--”
“No. Fair’s fair, Yusuke gets the room to himself,” Kurama butted in, literally squeezing himself between Yusuke and Hiei. “My, isn’t it late. We’d best be getting to bed.” He dragged Hiei along beside him as they readied to go to the sleeping section.
As they divided up the sleeping arrangements, Yusuke went to his private room. Kuwabara bunked with Rinku and Chu. Kurama was given a bed in Jin and Toya’s room, while Shishi and Suzuki put up Hiei. Or at least that’s how it was supposed to go.
He probably hadn’t been out for long, but Yusuke woke sensing a demonic presence in his room. “Who’s there?” He asked groggily.
“Yusuke….” the voice came from very close by.
“No that’s my name,” Yusuke said as his eyes adjusted to the dark. He recognized Hiei sitting, with his legs crisscrossed, on the bed next to him. “What are you doing here?”
“That game,” Hiei began, “it wasn’t a fair loss. The fox interfered.”
“So ya want to sleep in this bed?”
“I want a rematch.” Hiei held up a small rectangular object that Yusuke’s sharpening eyes soon recognized as a playing card.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Yusuke muttered. As he sat up fully the covers fell from him and the cool air kissed his bare skin. Yusuke had been so tired, he didn’t bother with bedclothes. He just stripped down “Uh, I gotta put on my sweats.”
“Are… are you naked under there?” Hiei asked with an absence of the appall that Yusuke would have expected. In fact, Yusuke could have sworn he saw something akin to excitement dance across the small apparition’s face. He must have been seeing things.
“Hmm, I’ve an idea; lets up the ante,” Hiei said as he tossed the card over his shoulder.
“What do ya mean?” Yusuke swallowed. He had the oddest feeling creeping over him.
Hiei stood up off the bed, putting his hand to his chest. In a single fluid tug, his scarf and coat were stripped away. Yusuke had seen him do that a dozen times right before a fight. He wondered how he did that with a garment that obviously had sleeves. He tossed them nonchalantly into the shadows. And then his hands migrated down to his waistband. He’d never done that in a fight before!
Yusuke felt the blood rise hotly to his face. He opened his mouth to make some smart-ass comment, but his words caught in his throat. Hiei dropped his pants and somewhere along the way he’d managed to ditch his socks too, leaving him standing before Yusuke completely naked.
Hiei’s lower half was not what Yusuke might have imaged. His legs were fuller than he’d thought they‘d be. And he had a gloriously plump ass. Had his hips been wider, the proportions would have been worthily of a girl. Still, he could have looked fabulous in a pair of stockings and high heels.
While Yusuke was still in shock, Hiei pulled the covers off of Yusuke, leaving only a thin sheet to cover him. He climbed onto the bed, over Yusuke. And then slowly he settled his weight on Yusuke’s body. His body heat quickly penetrated the thin sheet, the only thing separating their bare flesh.
“First one to pull away loses,” Hiei murmured as he rested his head on Yusuke’s chest.
So this was his game, full body Wildcard Smoochie, but without the card or the smoochie. This was far more provocative-- Yusuke wouldn’t have thought such a thing was possible before! Oh, but he could feel every curve of Hiei’s body were it pressed against his. He could feel the steady pulsing of his blood in his veins and the rhythmic beat of his breath. Hiei breathed in deep and then released something like a low growl that rumbled deep in his chest and vibrated right into Yusuke’s core.
“Uh,” Yusuke started hesitantly. Hiei shifted at his sound, putting pressure on a part of his anatomy that would be best forgot in a time like this. Much to his dismay he felt that part of himself harden instantly.
Hiei apparently noticed too. He hissed, “Yusuke.” His hips bucked as if he had no control over them. He moaned Yusuke’s name again. Yusuke had never heard anything like it.
“H-Hiei….” Yusuke bucked up into Hiei. His arms struggled and finally managed to free themselves of the sheets. His hands grabbed for those lovely hindquarters he’d recently admired. There he found another surprise. Hiei’s posterior might have been full and round, but it was in no way soft. Under that silk smooth skin was muscle that could render steel! Those muscles clinched and flexed deviously under his fingers, sending his mind into a fog.
“Holy shit!” Yusuke shuttered as Hiei ground down into him, one last time, shaking. Yusuke came.
He looked up to find Hiei looking down on him. His face was flushed and glistening with sweat. Yusuke became very aware of the itchy, sticky sensation under the sheet, so much that he neglected to notice the puddle seeping into the top of the sheet.
“Wha- what just--?” Yusuke croaked.
“We’ll call it a draw,” Hiei declared curtly as he rolled off of Yusuke and made a bee-line for his discarded clothing, “You can keep the room though. That bed is too soft for my tastes anyhow.”
He left Yusuke with the unvoiced question still lingering on his lips, “What the hell just happened?”

A/N: BluePenguin requested several pairings for this one, so it’ll take a couple of parts to weave together. I know it’s been a long time coming, but a lot of stuff has been going on. My old computer (7yrs old) crashed again, so I had to buy a new one. I had to figure out how to use it and how to convert my old wps files to doc so I could finish this. And then I started a new job, full time now! God news, I’ve already paid off my new PC. Any-hoo, more chapters coming up, next time!
