Hiei's Harem - Pt. 18 - Ending

Alright, this will be the last full sequel of this monster series. It’s been a long and winding road for our beloved little demon. Although the title may seem ominous, it in no way refers to Hiei’s death so don’t get nervous. I’m only opening this part with one scene, you’ll see why later on. Patience is always good when reading my stuff. I don’t like to blab on and on about what’s going to happen during my stories because I think that takes half the suspense out, don’t you? So, without further adieu, let’s get started.

Scene 1 -------- Two Days Later


* Hiei has indeed kept himself busy with all the royal stuff he’d been neglecting. This day finds him busily scanning more of his new soldiers that are sent before him in a steady procession. Dagon and Minoro look up from the sign-in desk they’re seated at, beside the throneroom’s doorway, when Staci approaches. The Crow smirks as he eyes the pregnant blonde up.


Dagon- Do you have an appointment, Miss?


* Staci rolls her eyes.


Staci- Do I need one?


* When Hiei hears her voice he pries himself away from the current soldier he’s scanning. With a deep sigh he waves the Bat demon away and speaks as he rubs his true eyes.


Hiei- That’s enough for today, Crow! You and ‘Noro go get lunch.


* Hiei clears his mind, then closes his jagan, and looks toward Staci when she enters the room. She remains patiently waiting to be recognized, as any of the others would.


Hiei- Whitey.. Come on in and close the door.


* Staci closes the large door, but stays there leaning against it. Hiei can feel the pain she’s bravely trying to hide from him.


Staci- If I’m.. disturbing you..


* The Fire demon stands and goes over to take her hand. She allows him to lead her over to a wide, fancy loveseat. When he sits her down he strokes his fingers through her shiny golden strands.


Hiei- Never.. Are you settling in well?


* He embraces her head when she leans forward to hide her face against him. He closes his eyes when he feels her swallow hard through his black cloak. When she pulls back, though, she has a smile forced onto her lips.


Staci- I’m.. here with you.. where I belong.

Hiei- Staci, I know I’ve been busy..

Staci- I understand.. I didn’t come to.. hound you.


* He allows her to pull him down to sit beside her.


Hiei- What do you want, Girlie?


* She casts a small smile at him then looks away to hide a grimace. But Hiei feels her jolt of pain. He pulls her back into his embrace.


Hiei- I know, Little One.. I want the pain to go away, but..

Staci- I want to give you.. this son, Hiei.. Please.. Promise me that you’ll.. allow me to.. do this.


* Hiei moves one of his hands down to lay on her belly. She catches a sob in her throat.


Staci- Please.. Ninhan is.. innocent.. He doesn’t.. under-stand..

Hiei- Shh, calm down now.

Staci- I know.. this is why you’ve been.. avoiding me.. This discussion..

Hiei- Staci, I’ve been..

Staci- I’m making this.. my last request, Hiei.. Please.


* She nearly doubles with a new spike of pain. When Hiei begins an energy share the unborn child settles some.


Staci- You.. wanted me.. to be free..

Hiei- Not like this!

Staci- This.. is the only way.. I want it to end for us.

Hiei- I’ll go to Koenma.. If there’s anything he can do..


* Staci shakes her head adamantly.


Staci- No. I won’t let you.. lower yourself to g-grovel.

Hiei- I would never consider it as such for you or any of my mates, Staci.. I’ve already asked him if he could help with Lily.


* Staci pulls back and makes Hiei meet her eyes.


Staci- The closer I get.. the better I’m understanding.. what’s happening to me.. It’s the same that.. happened to.. Klarice..


* Hiei tries to stand away from her, but she refuses to release him.


Staci- Hiei, please.. This is my.. decision.. I want to be free.. but I want to remain yours.. I’ve thought this through and.. this is what I want.. Please, let me give you.. this son.. Then let me go.. in peace.


* Hiei closes his eyes and pulls her back into his embrace. He realizes the futility in arguing with her resolve. He raises his aura to surround them and it slowly calms Staci, lulling her into a somewhat restful sleep. The Koorime positions her more comfortably in his arms as he rests his chin against her head.

* A soft smile touches Staci’s peaceful face.


(#) Staci- Thank you, Master.


* Hiei closes his eyes and shields any further thoughts from her so she can continue to rest, but he continues to hold her.
