Kurama's mistake

Hello everyone! This is my first ‘real’ KuramaxHiei fanfiction! I actually wrote it in story form! Please read and review! I want to know what I can do to improve or what I’m doing wrong, or if you just like my fanfiction!

Enjoy!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Lightning flashed across the sky in the ningenkai like an unforgiving lover. Rain pelted the ground

heavily, giving the soil no chance to absorb the rain. Thunder rolled across the earth like the hungry

stomach of a giant demon as it appeared after the lightning. Today truly was a dreary day in the

ningenkai. Makai wasn’t looking much better either. What looked bad in Ningenkai, was like a light rain

compared to Makai. Certain parts of Makai had already begun to flood and now, in Alaric, Mukuro and

Hiei were discussing what to do about the flood. The representative from Tourin had already come to

discuss and see if they could come up with something together to find a way to get rid of the excess

water. Several new lakes in both territories had been ‘built’ to help drain the water, but only so much

could have been done.

In order to survey the damage being done in Alaric, Mukuro sent Hiei out with a troop to survey the

damage being done. While Hiei sent the troop off in different directions across Alaric, Hiei himself went

towards the border Alaric shared with Yomi’s territory. As Hiei approached, a familiar Ki seemed to be

dancing along the border waiting for him. A knowing smirk came to his face and Hiei launched himself

off into the forest, knowing it well. Kurama, no, fox, liked playing in here whenever he was in the

makai. It was close, and Hiei and Kurama could play and relax here, well, as much as Hiei allowed himself

to in front of Kurama.

As if on instinct, Hiei hurried to meet the fox that seemed to be waiting eagerly for his arrival. Hiei

landed on the ground in front of a playful, but drenched looking Kurama. Kurama greeted Hiei almost

giddily “Hiei!” Hiei’s response was his usual “hn.” However, Kurama could easily interpret the ‘hn’

considering they had been together for so long as partners in crime and now, close friends. Kurama

offered Hiei a smile, in response to Hiei’s neutral glare. After a few minutes of silence, Hiei asked calmly

“Fox, that incident………have you recovered?” Hiei wasn’t worried, well, he didn’ t think he was, since his

voice portrayed only cool ease and disinterest.

Kurama’s giddy smile faded slightly. That incident referred to when Kurama had been fighting a fellow

plant user whom seemed to have purely dark, terrifying plants, much fiercer and scarier than Kurama’s

plants. Hiei had come upon the scene and had made a move to help with his dragon, but Kurama had

stopped him, requesting that he butt out and let Kurama fight this battle on his own. Hiei had

reluctantly agreed, not wishing to earn Kurama’s wrath or be the cause of a fatal injury.

It wasn’t until the end of the fight that the worst happened, not that a twisted part of Hiei wasn’t

expecting it at all. The demon with his dying breath blew a pollen into Kurama’s face as Kurama got in

close. Kurama stumbled back and the demon began to flee. Kurama, before Hiei could draw his sword,

killed the demon with a flick of his rose whip. Hiei had rushed to Kurama’s side soon after, as Kurama

collapsed. Hiei had seen to carry Kurama back to Genkai’s where Yukina remained, looking after the

temple.

Asking his sister to look Kurama over as Yusuke and Kuwabara, upon hearing the news from Botan,

when she called them, rushed over to check. Yukina could only say that the thing that ailed Kurama was

a plant she did not know of, and only Kurama might know of it.

However, a week later, Kurama roused himself, apparently healed on his own. The pollen was either out

of his system or lay dormant. As Kurama wasn’t quite sure what the plant was, he drank a mixture of

healing elixirs for a month after in hopes of eradicating the poison of the pollen. None seemed to effect

it since Kurama could feel it in his body. It wasn’t an uncomfortable feeling, just awkward at times.

Kurama never knew what the pollen was meant to do, and he knew not how to get it out. For the time

being, Kurama had worked around it.

Kurama said gracefully “I’m fine Hiei, thank you for your concern.” Hiei hned. Kurama shifted his stance

as the pollen flared. Before Kurama, even noticed or realized, everything went black, as his Ki sky

rocketed. Hiei, at this was tense and on alert. Before him stood none other than Yoko Kurama. Hiei was

never this wary, but the predatory and lust filled look in the fox’s eyes made Hiei wary of the Yoko. He

knew that this couldn’t be a good thing with the way the Yoko seemed to be sizing him up.

“Why Hiei, are you afraid of me?” purred the Yoko as he sensuosly glided forward. Hiei growled and said

“No way fox.” Hiei took a half step back, the glint in the yoko’s eyes made it clear that Hiei was in

trouble. “You must be Hiei, you are backing away from me, are you not?” Yoko purred. Hiei growled at

Kurama in response, clearly not liking the look on Kurama’s face. He was in trouble, and he knew it. Hiei

said coolly “Back off Fox.”

“Back off? Why Hiei, I’ve never heard you use that tone before. Are you afraid of me?” Yoko purred, the

wicked glint grew. Hiei knew that now was the time to not exchange banter. He had to be faster than

Kurama at this point. In a flash, Hiei was gone, Yoko Kurama was not far behind, the giddy laugh and the

thrill of the chase urged Kurama forward.

With a pounce, Kurama was on Hiei quickly. As Hiei struggled to break free, vines sprang up to hold Hiei

down. Before Hiei could burn the vines, Kurama gagged Hiei with a plant. As the poison worked through

Hiei’s veins quickly, Hiei stopped thrashing as his body went numb thanks to the effect of the plants

poison. Yoko carressed Hiei’s face gently. “There there fire baby. You’ll be alright, I’ll take care of you my

dragon. Now be a good boy.” Yoko removed Hiei’s clothes hastily. A shudder wracked through the

Youko’s body as the poison that was affecting his mind and body took a stronger hold. With a feral

growl, the Youko removed his own clothes.

With a flare of his Ki, the Youko thrust forward into Hiei, causing Hiei’s walls to tear once the Youko had

buried himself to the hilt in Hiei’s entrance. Hiei let out a muffled, weak cry of pain. The numbing plant

would not let him do anything else other than make that muffled cry of pain. Youko flashed a cruel smirk

towards the incapacitated Hiei. His hips plunged forward, before they snapped back and plunged

forward again. All Hiei could do was cry that tear.

Hiei shed a solitary tear. The tear slid down his cheek and without a sound, it hit the ground. The gem

was a black color that swirled with dark purple traces at the back. Youko didn’t notice as he sought his

own release. With a howl, he came deep inside Hiei and sank his teeth in the crook of Hiei’s neck and

shoulderblade. Pouring his Ki into the bite mark, Youko growled at Hiei “My Fire-baby. You will never

have anyone but me. Mine forever.” With that, Youko got up to his feet and after cleaning himself using

Hiei’s clothes, he dressed and left.

It wasn’t until an hour later that the vines finally retreated as the poison wore off. Hiei sat up and

dressed without a sound. Once he was dressed, Hiei limped quietly back to Alaric, soaked to the skin in

the rain. The blood was washed away the blood, but not the pain. It would be there for a long while.

Without a word to anybody, he went up to his set of rooms and showered. Hiei had been mated to

Youko Kurama, he belonged to another. While Kurama, Kurama had the freedom and the will to go

whereever he pleased and sleep with whomever. Hiei, was not allowed that luxury or promiscuity. Fire

demons mated for life. They lived until their mates died, and then they would die. Hiei was no longer

free, and the rain did nothing to wash that pain away.

Back in Ningenkai, Kurama, woke in his bed with a start. He couldn’t remember a thing. It had been

around midnight when he’d gone to bed, and when he looked at the clock, he found it to be nearly

noon. Stretching languidly, Kurama found he had had a good sleep, though he didn’t know why. Getting

to his feet, Kurama showered and dressed. After he dried his hair, he brushed it neatly. Being the vain

fox he was, he couldn’t leave the room without knowing he looked presentable at least. Kurama walked

down stairs to kiss his mother good day.

For Kurama, everything was perfectly normal. He had no recollection of ever going to the Makai, or of

meeting Hiei. Kurama felt as if he had forgotten something, but couldn't remember what it was, which made

it easy for him to dismiss it as nothing. Even the Youko didn't know. Kurama had asked the youko, but all the

Youko knew was that he had had a good nap to. Kurama had left it at that, and decided that it would be addressed

later.

For Hiei, he was beginning to heal as he made his way back to the rooms given to him, Hiei stripped to

nothing, and walked over to the shower room. Turning the shower on hastily, Hiei winced as he felt the water run

over his bruised, and sore frame. It hurt to wash his body and to touch the parts of him that Kurama had seen to

violate so roughly and painfully. When Hiei finished showering, he limped to the mirror and surveyed the bite

mark. He watched as blood from under the bite mark grew, and changed shape. By the time it was done, a small fox

surrounded the bite, giving a betteridea to anyone that looked, just who it was that claimed him. Hiei ran a

hand over it and winced in pain. Saying nothing to anyone he happened to walk across, he walked into his room,

he dressed in his usual clothes, and he limped to lie down on the bed. Hiei lay still and after flexing his Ki a

bit to hurry along the healing process of his entrance. He couldn't raise it too high or someone would come

along and ask what was wrong. Hiei wouldn't tell anyone what had happened. He would not tell any one he was

weak enough to let that happen, pride wouldn't let him.

Hiei was hurt, both emotionally and physically. The one person he’d trusted had betrayed him. For someone with a

past like his, there was no turning back. Hiei had been betrayed, he would never forgive Kurama and he would

never forget. Hiei would not seek vengeance, and he would not acknowledge what Kurama had done, but, he would

never forget. Hiei would never hate Kurama, but he would never give Kurama the same amount of trust as he had in

the past. Hiei’s personality would degenerate. The slight friendliness he had given to Kurama was withdrawn and

forgotten. Yusuke, and Kuwabara would be kept at even farther a distance. Mukuro would get an heir that focussed

on training and nothing else. He no longer existed for his sister. Hiei existed solely for becoming stronger.

Kurama’s betrayal had hit Hiei hard. The one person he actually trust had betrayed and hurt him. He would never

ever trust again.
