Adventures in Deep Space, 9 that is!
Hello Everyone! This is my first 'adult' fiction. I wrote it several years ago but i wanted to go a certain... sexual way but i couldn't bring myself to even attempt to wright a lemon! How scandalous! Just kidding.
A little bit better/longer summery of this story is that it is a crossover between DS9 and YYH where the reader gets paired with Hiei. Maybe a little bit of Kurama action, i haven't decided(hint tell me what you think!)
Quick question, for those not familiar with DS9 would you like me to put a brief summery of what the different things are in the story? Technology, species, background, etc?
This chapter is the Prologue and it's 10 years before the actual story takes place, so don't be put off by the fact that you start out as a kid! Hope you enjoy it and opinions are always welcome!
Prologue:
“Lieutenant Dax to commander Sisco. We have a problem. You might want to come down here.”
Commander Sisco, who was looking over a security report on the captured Gem Hadar ship, quickly got up and walked down to cargo bay three where they were storing the ship. According to the scans, there were no Gem Hadar left alive. Still, he had assigned a security team to the ship.
Commander Sisco entered the cargo bay to find Lieutenant Dax holding a scanner in one hand and a phaser in the other. Dax looked up at the ship again and shook her head.
“What’s wrong Lieutenant?” Sisco asked.
“Well, we know you scanned the ship for Gem Hadar and found none alive, but we scanned again and according to these scans, there is still a life form on board.” She replied, handing him the scanner.
“Can you determine what species it is?” Sisco asked. “Is it a founder?”
“No. It’s not a founder, but we don’t know its species, it’s not a known species.”
“Is it hostile?” the commander asked, thinking of his station.
“We don’t know. Odo just went inside to see. He slid through one of the cracks.”
As she spoke, a gel-like substance came out of the ship and formed into the changeling Odo. He walked over to where Dax and Sisco were talking. Dax turned to Odo.
“So is it hostile?” Dax inquired.
“She doesn’t seem so. It’s safe to go in because she’s in a holding cell.” Odo reported.
“Holding cell? Why?”
“Would you like if I go back and ask her?” Odo asked sarcastically.
“No, no. That’s fine. Dax, open it.”
Dax opened the door to the ship and stepped inside followed by the security team. She ordered them to search the ship to see if anyone had escaped the scans. Dax found the holding cell and peered inside. She gasped when she saw a young girl inside, no older than nine, sleeping on the floor.
She opened the door and walked inside. The girl was sound asleep. Dax scanned the girl and noticed her broken arm. Dax gently lifted the girl up and carried her out of the ship. She stepped out into the cargo bay and walked over to Sisco.
“Commander, I’m going to take her down to the infirmary.” She said uniformly.
“Fine, but let some security members escort you down. We don’t know enough about her yet.”
“Benjamin. I can spare with Klingon’s, I can command a ship, I think I can handle one little girl with a broken arm.” Jedcia Dax said, dropping her formalities.
“Very well old man, just remember I warned you.” Benjamin Sisco said.
“You act as if I’m doing something foolish.” Dax replied in a jokingly defensive voice.
Dax carried the young girl down to the infirmary and laid her on one of the empty beds. Dr. Bashire walked over and looked questionably at Dax.
“Who is she?” He asked pulling out his scanner.
“I don’t know, she was on the Gem Hadar ship.” The doctor’s look of questioning her changed to a look of curiosity and worry.
“Computer, raise a level three force field around bed three.” He said quickly. Dax gave the doctor a look that said quite plainly ‘Can’t you handle a little girl?’
Dr. Bashire ignored her look and stepped through the force field. He began to scan the unconscious child.
“So, can you tell what species she is?” Dax asked curiously.
“No. I’ll have to take a blood sample. I’ll see if the medical database can place her.” He said, drawing a small amount of blood. He then walked out and put the sample on the tray and let the computer scan it.
She’s a sound sleeper. She didn’t wake when I carried her down here. I would have though her dead but for the rise and fall of her chest.”
“Actually, she was not just asleep, but in a very deep sleep. Her body’s healing capability, as far as I can tell, is highly elevated. There starting to come down now. I wonder what had happened.”
“Oh, yes, did you treat her broken arm?” Dax said, remembering the scan.
“Broken arm? Her arm shows no signs of ever being broken.”
Dax was about to show the doctor the scans when the girl on the bed sat up. She looked around at her surroundings and then at the two people.
“Who are you?” She asked curiously.
“My name is Dr. Bashir and this is Lt. Dax. Do you have a name?” Dr. Bashir said in a kind, soft voice.
“Yes I do. My name is _________ and I’m nine.” She/you said holding up nine fingers.
Dax took down the force field and walked over to you. “Nine years huh? I could have sworn you were at least 12.” Dax smiled. You giggled.
“__________, do you know where you are?” Dax asked in the tone that is used on little kids.
You shook your head. “No. The GemHadar just told me they were taking me to the founders. Are you the founders?”
“No, where not founders. He’s human and I’m a trill.” Dax said.
“Human and trill? Then what am I?”
But Dax was saved answering the question as Sisco walked in the door with Odo.
“Are you human to? Or are you trill?” You asked Sisco and Odo.
Sisco couldn’t help but smile. You reminded him so much of Jake when he was younger, but now his son was a published author. “My name is Benjamin Sisco and I’m human.” He said to the you.
“Hello Benjamin Sisco! My name is __________ and I’m 9!”
“Well then ______________, would you mind if I steal Jadcia from you?” He said, motioning for Dax to follow. Dax and Sisco walked far enough away to be out of ear shot but still in sight, but when they spoke, it was still in a whisper.
“Well old man, is she part of the dominion?” Benjamin asked his old friend.
“If she is, she doesn’t know it. She’s far too young. Honestly, she could pass off as a human. It’s amazing the resemblance between the species.”
“That’s enough. So, she’s not part of the dominion. Does she know about changelings?”
“Not changeling, per say, but the GemHadar told her a little about founders, not enough that she would recognize one though.” Dax said, turning to see you talking excitedly with Dr. Bashir and Odo scowling in the background.
“So, old man, what do you think we should do about her?” Sisco asked Dax.
“Well, according to Starfleet protocol, when we find a supposed orphan, first we enter the DNA into the Starfleet database.”
“We did that but there isn’t a match. There won’t be. She’s a new species.”
“I was about to say that if no match is found, then we notify Starfleet and find someone to take care of her…” Dax said somewhat hopefully. Benjamin crocked an eyebrow.
“Are you volunteering old man?”
“Oh, could I Benjamin?”
“Fine. I’ll start of the forms. You go get to know your ‘daughter’”
Commander Sisco left and Lieutenant Jadcia Dax walked over to you. “Hello again, __________.” Dax said sweetly and fondly.
“Hello again Dax!” You replied.
“__________, would you like to come and stay with me? You can see Julian anytime you want.”
“Oh, could I? Please! That would be fun!” Dax smiled at your reaction.
Dax took you to her room. She already had an extra room that she was using for a HUGE closet so she quickly cleaned it out and put a bed in while you bombarded her with questions.
Ok, so not a lot happened in the first chapter, but it will get better. The next chapter will be 10 years later so you will no longer be a kid. Hope i didn't scare too many people away! *crickets are heard in the background* Um... Yea, how bout that... Anywho, review and stick around for the next chapter!
