How did this story slip through. I thought that I had read everything you've posted here. Glad I found it though. It is now one of my favorites. I love the pairing and how you tell a story, make it wonderful without getting too dark or graphic. Angst is great but sometimes I need the fluff. Thanks for such a great story.

ah it was good. I must admit they were kinda ooc but in a good way. AKA they were in love with one another and had wild passionate foxy sex. Which i love. Kuruma really needing hiei at the beginning was perfect. then when they were like i love you, and i love you i was like "yay! i love you both!" then they gave me the crazy look and wondered how i got there.

Wow! That was a great chapter. I absoultely adored how the fox rode on the dragon's neck to chase after Mukuro...she got what she deserved for locking Hiei up. It was also cute how hard Kurama was gripping the table upon Hiei's arvial only to be told by Hiei that it was alright to touch him. I am loving this story. I do apologize for it taking me over a month to start reading it again. But it just so happens that as a park ranger, there are periods where I don't have internet connection, but that won't happen hopefully for a while again.

Alright, I finally had the chance to read the last chapter and...I loved it!! I am happy to see that Kurama was able to avenge his father's death and that he had wonderful grandfather. You did a good job in creating a new race of demons. And finally what a wonderful way to end the story! I might be out of line here, but I defintely wouldn't mind reading a sequel to this story. Keep writing, you are making terrific stories.

I really love this story. There were a few typos, but not too many. For instance, the beginning of chapter 3 says chapter 5, and somewhere toward the end of chapter 4 when Kurama is talking to his grandfather you have "batter" instead of better. Other than that, as I said, I really love this story. In fact I usually love all your stories. Speaking of which, that should prove that you do have an audience other than that of another site. So keep posting here, please.

Of all the fanfiction I have read I have to say that this was one of the most beautifully written pieces that I have ever read, I hope you can write more beautiful pieces in the future.

I really enjoyed this fic. Let me go point by point:
You said at one point that it's hard to make up a new race of demons and make Kurama's characteristics fit. You did it very well. You made the shinzo demons very believable and gave a plausible explanation of Kurama's father's absence and how his youko aspect would blend with his shinzo aspect and make him different than the others, but still you still kept him "Kurama." Very nicely done.
I love how you played up the lack of communication between Hiei and Kurama. I love stories where they share something special, but have to work to find it, and you've written it beautifully.
I also really love the way you used the dialogue between Kurama and Shiori to describe the shinzo, and the reaction of the demon characters to give it depth, instead of just plopping in a block of decription. It was very subtle, and very enjoyable - we got to find out as the characters did and it made the whole premise rounder and more understandable.
And I love how you integrated Kurama's family into this, as well. I love stories that heavily feature Shiori, as she has become such a huge influence in Kurama's life, and you gave her a special secret of her own to balance out his secret, so that worked wonderfully. I also like that you gave him a grandfather, and one that was on good terms with Shiori. It was like three happy endings in one (four if you count Hiei having a mate and finding love).
Overall, I really loved this story (in case you couldn't tell from all the points above that began with "I love...") and I think it is one of your best works I have read to date. If you ever decide to pick it up with a sequel, I will absolutely read it! If not, that's fine - it's your story after all, and you gave it closure, so whatever you do will appease your readers.
