I don't think I ever read past chapter two of this one in the past. I have no idea why I didn't; I'm absolutely enchanted. Somehow you've found my two favorite things (okay, I'm counting Hiei and Kurama as ONE thing, and the setting as the other) and combined them perfectly. Your style of writing is also perfect for the setting. Your word choice fits the story wonderfully.
I do hope your muse decides to inspire the next chapter soon; I'm kind of dying to see what happens next.

I must say, I'm finding this to be a very nice, well-worded twist on the beautiful story of "Beauty and the Beast". Although I've been known to "torture" the little guy in some of my writings I hardly consider him a beast, but it works for this story, lol. It wouldeth pleaseth me if thou wouldst but update soonest. I thank thee. :o)

I love the way you're writing this, it's like old school fable with a fantasy twist, everything from the pattern of speech to the setting flows with it. Wonderful. I can't wait to see what happens next, Hiei doesn't know what he's in for.

You know...I bet Hatanaka is going to have to make some kind fo deal for defiling that rose bush...like giving our little black-cloaked figure (Hiei) his stepson.
I love period pieces. I used to read fantasy all the time and this AU makes me feel like I'm coming home.
