I like the way you reprise the end of the previous chapter at the top of a new chapter. I have a problem with remembering what happened in a story, and this really helps. I think this is only the second story I've read that suggested Hiei was actually Korunue reincarnated, and I might be confused; it might be the only one. Other than that, the box was called the Reverse Treasure Chest in Japanese. I'm usually not picky about whether a writer uses the English or Japanese version, but in this case I think it's important.
Idun was the Norse goddess of youth. She had a box of golden apples that kept the gods, the Asas, from growing old. So, it's easy to guess that Japan must have it's own version of age-reducing stories, since they would hardly use another country's. In Japan there's a fairy tale about a fisherman named Urashima who rescued a turtle from some cruel boys. In gratitude, the turtle took Ura to the ocean queen's palace, where he was honored. When he left, the queen gave him a treasure chest and told him never to open it. Upon his return, Uoundound that decades had past; everyone he knew was dead. Horrified, he opened the chest, and found that it contained all the years that had passed while he was in the other world. The years fell on him and turned him into a very old man.
In the anime, the bad guy is called 'Uraurashima' because 'ura' means 'reverse', so he's 'Reverse Urashima'. Instead of growing old himself, he makes others younger.
